Came in to get my headlight changed. I passed by and saw a bunch of cars, man, they must be busy. Nope. No one in the lobby. Cars all done. I got in and out within 30 minutes. Let me know my battery is dying at 60% and I need an oil change which I basically got last month? Only had 1 trip to Disneyland and only in town trips. Oil changes are almost $100. Then he tried to sell me on some additive that "extends your warranty an extra 3,000 miles?" Sounds fake. It was pretty quick service. Customer service was subpar. Atleast they talked to you and gave you information. They do have their salesmen pitch. But for the most part, they got the job done. I do like that it gives you text messages when you drop off for service, you can track the progress and then it texts you when it is done. Services are a bit expensive. read more

I had my van check for AC. They mechanic said I need to replace my compressor because of some check valve not working anymore and would cost me about $700 or more. They have to order parts and stuff. Thought I might have found a good alternative close to home instead of my local Ford service center (I have a 2010 F250 Powerstroke) Two issues. 1. Jan 2016 - Lower radiator hose leaking. Took to PB's. $1000 for new hoses, radiator flush and serpentine belt. 2. Apr 2016 - AC warm. $300 for so called service and repair. Last week I noticed fluid on my drive way. My AC was also warm again (checked with temp gun). Took it back to Rosedale Pep Boy's. Refilled my AC and admitted they could find no leak. 5-31-2016 Took my truck to Jim Burke Ford. AC accumulator had crack which you can only find in a dark booth with Ultraviolet. PB's had tried to jam the new hoses together and actually broke the new hoses when they installed them. Regardless of the benefits to higher grade oil, the most important thing a business can do is listen to the customer that is telling them no over and over. I get oil changes here regularly. I came in for tires and got a sweet deal on clearance tires. Also, I brought in my Rodeo that had been in wreck for alignment. They ordered the shims and worked all day on it and got it aligned to where it wouldn't wreck the tires and said they could not shim it anymore and did not charge me because it pulled left. They recommended a frame shop to fix the damaged frame. I currently have my rodeo in for an alternator problem. They price match other part stores. I like this place. The rest of the staff has been friendly as well but are usually busy in the back. I believe the worst issue I've come across is the staff, once or twice, forgetting the oil change sticker after a change but that stuff happens and is no big deal. Stay the heck away from Pep-Boys! Basically called a liar. Have a battery I purchased in July of 2015, the battery has "3 year free replacement" printed right on it... moreover, the manufactured date listed May of 2105, this battery is under the 3 year warranty. I didn't have my receipt, but my purchase is listed under my Pep Boy rewards program number. Now here's where the rub with this Pep Boys starts. Each store can not look up another store's customer's purchases...allegedly... The store I purchased from is 22 miles away in the old side of town I lived in at the time. I asked if each store was independently owned? This would explain why they could not access my information. But, no...they are all corporately owned. I asked how then were they not able to pull up my info? Crickets!!! They said i would have to go back the other store to get my warranty replacement. They couldn't verify if I had actually purchased the battery from a Pep Boys. I ask who else sells these Bosch batteries in town? They said they didn't know. So I guess in their mind I'm lying.
