Crooks and liars... I brought my Rav in there for a transmission flush. They did the job and took over an hour after the emailed me that my car was ready to get picked up. But when I picked up my car the check engine light was on and the traction light was on. I spoke with the assistant manager Andrew and he said that both the lights we on which they weren't when they got the car. He then proceeded to call me a liar and said that I wanted it to be fixed for free after spending $216 on a transmission fluid flush. We spoke with the manager and the district manager and the best they can do is offer us to fix the check engine light for $200. I will never use pep boys ever again. Shady shady shady! I'm very disappointed with the service here. I got my tires here about a year and a half ago. This week one of my tires got a flat. I brought my car in to get the tire repaired. They charged me $160 to repair the tire which is absurd. I could've bought a new tire for less than that! Then when I got in my car after they repaired it, my low tire pressure light was on. You'd think after going in for a tire repair they'd check to make sure there was enough air in the tires! But no! I had to leave to pick up my son from school so couldn't run back in to tell them to fill the tires up. As I'm driving away the TPMS light goes on, which I've never seen go on in my car before. After I drop my son at home I go back AGAIN to have them fill the tires up and fix the issue with the TPMS light. They told me the low tire pressure will go off as I drive on it and they fixed the issue with the TPMS. Then as I'm driving away the TPMS light goes on again! I was not going back for a THIRD time one day. They're completely unreliable and I'm pretty sure I was taken advantage of. Now I have to take my car to a trusted auto-mechanic to fix whatever Pep Boys did to screw up my wheels. I will never return. They're unhelpful, unreliable, and a waste of my time and money. read more

Took my Jeep in for an oil change and tire rotation and was then told I needed new tires, a new F ball joint, a Prosteer upper ball joint and front rotors and that my tire treads were so worn they couldn't do the rotation. Since I had been having no issues whatsoever and felt they were trying to get a LOT more money out of me (several hundred dollars more) I told them to just do the oil change. Long story short, I took my Jeep to my regular mechanic (Gene's in Westmont) and was told NOTHING was wrong with it. I brought in the invoice from Pep Boys and none of the parts they said needed replacement needed it. Gene's also said my tires would be good for several more months and they did the tire rotation. Avoid this place and find a good mechanic. Life's too short to be ripped off by opptunistic shysters. read more

I bought 4 tire dalcon just after 30 000 miles all 4 tire is wearing out, I go there and ask for warranty because they give me 60000 miles warranty. They told me that i have problem with my suspension. I told him check out i dont have any problems with suspension and if i have i will have problem with one tire not all 4 plus will be damage on side of my tire. He just told me that they didn't accept warranty and I need to call falcon and he say me what you expect from falcon tire btw that tire they sale and instale. Stay away from this place !!! read more

Called at 7 am to see if they could repair my tire. They told me to come in at 9 am. Dropped off my car at 9, came back at lunch and wah lah!!!! Just had my oil changed. again They do a good job. Most impressive this time was the service agent asked if I had one of their coupons. I didn't but he allowed me to use one he had, which saved me about 33% off the regular price. he didn't have to do that but he made great strides in maintaining a loyal customer. read more

I have always been very happy the customer service I receive at this Pep Boys location. I feel that the mechanics work hard to resolve the problem that my car is having at that time. I complete all of my automotive work at the Darien Pep Boys. I have been to other locations in this chain who take advantage of women. That is not the case at this location. The mechanic has even let me see where the problem is under my car. I'm glad to have this location close to my home. read more

This pep boys has excellent service that was prompt and efficient! Each person I encountered from start to finish was polite professional and courteous! I was visiting relativesWhen my car was towed there, my car wouldn't turn over. Had the car jumped and nothing. Almost within minutes of the tow driver getting my car I received a call. Couple of hours later, after tests were done, it was just a simple battery replacement. If this were say the local Midas or Aamco, they would have found "other issues" I set myself up to hear I needed another fuel pump or something else more expensive. Fortunately my family referred me to this pep boys where they not only took care of me and didn't exaggerate the damage , someone was sent to get me to get my car!!! Tim Kevin and Rudy are exceptional and provided one of if not the most pleasant customer service I ever had in an auto shop!!! Made an appointment online for a free A/C check. Received a tracking id # and service work order # for express check-in. Followed the instructions for completing the repair order and waited in front of a service bay for 10 minutes before I was acknowledged. After I stated I had an appointment, I was told I had to go inside to talk to the manager. Manager stated they have nothing to do with online appointments and their "master" mechanic was not on duty (the only employee qualified to inspect A/C.) I took a day off work to get this repaired and planned my whole day around an "appointment" that the store claims they had no control of. If I designed an online appointment system that took detailed customer contact and vehicle information, I would certainly provide an interface that would inform store personnel of booked online appts. How can you possibly run a service business not knowing your potential workload? Allowing a system for which you have no control over to book appointments for you without your knowledge? That's an unbelieveable business model. Pep Boys wasted my valuable time by ruining a morning of a rare day off work. They have lost a customer forever. read more

I bought 6 pairs of tires for my truck and spent $1,300 in this store, to find out that there where several things were not completed to the full job, I spoke to Tim manager from operations and what a most rude, unprofessional, worse customer service he had with me, not only he was not able to assist me on my needs but he raised his voice and not sure because if I am Hispanic, but definitely it is so unacceptable the approach, I am spending just a lot of money to obtain this customer service, not only he blew me off but he did not helped me at all, I am a business owner and I own an auto shop, with my customers I would definitely not treat them or my employees the way he did, i will never recommend this location due to the fact that Tim is an acceptale behaviors towards customers and I am hoping with this message the company spends enough money to give him classes of how to deal with multicultural customers, customer service and professionalism, he not only did not want to do the job right but he asked me to make an appointment and get an uber guy this is so unacceptable. read more
