Don't go here for an oil change. Just go to Ming's Auto Service instead 30 seconds down the road. The sign on the door says 25 dollars oil change, but that is members only. The actual price is 30 dollars which is in small print. Not only that, but then they charge you for shit like a "shop fee". I went in for an oil change, decided to get the synthetic oil, which I knew would cost more (it costs about 25-30 a bottle vs 15-20 for normal oil), so I figured the price would be like 20 dollars higher, expecting a bill around 50 or so plus tax. My bill ended up being 78 FUCKING DOLLARS. The person, after I just said I was here for a standard oil change, never gave me a notice of a price or anything like that until after the job was done. Turns out, getting a synthetic oil change counts as a "Manager's Special" or some shit like that. Here is my math breakdown of how it SHOULD be. 30 dollar oil change = 20 dollars for oil+filter, 10 dollars for labor. Synthetic oil change = 30 dollars for oil+filter, 10 dollars for labor (labor doesn't change) Here is the ACTUAL fee for a synthetic oil change: Oil - 5*7 dollars = 35 dollars. They use the price of 1 quart and charge you 5 dollars instead of charging you for a 5 quart one. Obviously you get prices cheaper if you buy in a bigger quantity. A 5 quart is 30 dollars base and 25 dollars EASILY online or at any Walmart. Labor - 22 dollars. How the hell is the labor any different from doing a normal 25/30 dollar oil change? Surely they don't charge 22 dollars for a 30 dollar oil change. There would be nowhere to fit the fee of oil/filter in that case. Why would labor be double? Filter - 3 dollars. Good price. Gumout fuel system cleaner - WTF? 10 dollars. Never mentioned this shit anywhere, just saw it while looking at the bill. Shop fee - 5 dollars. WTF is this? You have a fee for using their shop? The hell? There is also a portion at the top now I see that says initial estimate, 65.56 dollars. I was never given an initial estimate. Then there is a part that says customer notified of and approved increases in original estimated price (no signature here of course, seeing as though I was never given an estimate in the first place). Forget this place. The manager also tried saying "oh well you change your oil half as often so the price is basically the same as 2 standard oil changes almost". Ok, that would sorta make sense, except the fact that you aren't doing double the labor, so just the labor alone should be at least half that if going off the labor of a standard oil change. Go to Ming's instead. You can buy your own oil filter for 5 dollars, synthetic oil for 25 dollars, and Ming's will do it for 15 dollars labor. This comes out to 45 dollars for a synthetic oil change, let's just say 50 with tax. No hidden fees, no bullshit. Saves 28 dollars! read more

Slowest service ever and the manager Lai is the rudest. He told me they were busy so it will take 45 minutes to change the oil, my car was ready 2 hours later! When I told him that they told me 45 minutes, he told me that I was lying, I just asked for oil change, they rotated the tires without asking me, when I asked the manager he told me in a rude manner that rotation was in the package, and I understand that but you need to ask first if i need that service, he kept saying that it was in the package! but they never mention it! Lai is the rudest manager and this Pep Boys in Doraville is the slowest! Stay away from here. There too many other options in town. I went today at 12:15pm and asked to change the oil, a guy told me the price. Then I asked the manager Lai how long it was going to take, he said they were too busy so it would be 45 minutes. I received 2 emails saying my car was ready, i went back almost 2 hours later and they were rotating the tires! Without asking me and they haven't change the oil yet! When I asked the manager about rotation he said (in a very rude manner) it comes with the package which I understand but you need to ask first if I need that service. So, he said that it wasn't his fault because he did not check me in.... instead of just saying: "I am sorry about that, we should have ask you", or something like that. Awful. Bought a tire 2 months ago. It leaked due to damage during the installation my mechanic told me later. I brought in for repair due to a leak 1month ago. The leak returned only for them to then admit the tire was damaged. The road hazard "warranty" is prorated so with an additional warranty the replacement cost was near the cost of a new tire. This is a bogus warranty. The integrity of this store is non existent. I basically have bought 2 tires due their negligence during installation. I declined the additional "warranty" and will never do business here again. Be warned. read more

This is my first time going to Pep Boys on 5600 Buford Hwy, Doraville, GA, store # 1552 with the store manager's name as Lai. I was driving on the highway from east 285 and I ran over a large nail (yes, on the highway!) It was one of those construction nail (I don't know what it's called). I pulled over to a parking lot to analyze what just happened because I heard a loud noise that sounded like a bomb. Long story short, I found the closest auto repair shop across from where I parked to check my tire, thanks to God the Father, God the son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. One of the team member replaced my tire with a spare one for free thanks to the store manager, Mr. Lai. The original price was $10. I was NOT a member. Thank you Mr. Lai and the rest of his team! I brought my car to PepBoys #1552 after another shop had over-torqued the lug nuts on all of my wheels (meaning I could not get them off to do work on the vehicle), to have Pep Boys adjust them to the proper settings. Store Manager Lai Leung-Cheung was delightful to work with-- very professional, friendly and nice to deal with, he got us in and out of the shop very quickly with no appointment, no hassle. I was very impressed with the Tech who assisted with my car although I didn't catch his name. Ask for Lai! read more

I have a battery that is less than 1 year old with a three-year warranty from Pep Boys. After taking my car to the mechanic, my mechanic said he had charged the battery for three hours but it would not hold a charge and requested we take the battery back to Pep Boys since it's under warranty. We did this and Pep Boys ran a diagnostic and said everything was fine. We went back to the mechanic and he tested it again and the battery was still dead. We then went to a competitor and purchased a new battery and that solve the problem. I would not count on Pep Boys warranty! read more

I came with a problem with my car. It's been starting strange and making weird noises when I turned my steering wheel. Not normal and I know that something is wrong because it has not done this before. The past week or so it shakes really weird when I start it and makes an awful noise. When I got there, I couldn't schedule an evaluation until they had proof that it was messing up, I start it up and nothing abnormal happen, but considering that I just got done driving it for half an hour to get over there it was pretty warmed up, nothing seemed wrong. They wouldn't even schedule me an appointment to check out what was going on until they saw that it was messing up and told me to go back when it messed up again. I tried to say that it did it when u started my car to drive over there, but he didn't even want to get me scheduled to take a look at what was going on. Also handled the situation rudely and did not have great customer service. read more
