I visited this business on 3/4/25 due to my vehicle having to be towed three times and spending over $500 in car services with roadside assistance within 48hrs due to a dead 12V battery and oil change. I've waited over three hours in the cold of -43 weather and have not complained one bit about my situation. I own a 2010 Toyota Prius and received unpleasant and unprofessionalism service from the store manager "BYRON SALGUERO" on 3/5/25. He confirmed that he remembered my presence and situation from the previous day. Upon my initial interaction with this agent he seemed to be professional, but after explaining to him that the quoted price from Car Advise was exactly a difference of $17.51 from his quoted total, he began to become aggressive, agitated and unfriendly. This agent was attempting to take more money than what was quoted to me from "Car Advise". I informed to him that the numbers that were presented in the "Car Advise" application were different than what he displayed. He did not care to further investigate the issue and just displayed & stated the total price. He said, "Look this is what I see and that is all I can tell you" very nonchalantly and rudely. I also want to note that when I visited the location on 3/4/25 I was helped by a very friendly female representative. I informed Byron of her courteous service and he rolled his eyes and disagreed with my compliment towards her. It's obvious that this location has internal staff issues and customer service issues. When I asked the time duration of the oil change Byron stated it would be 1hr and 30 minutes. After that time passed and I checked on my vehicle he stated that no service had been provided. Please look into his previous and current background for similar issues. I will NEVER return to this location. After this experience I will no longer use Pep Boys as a service provider. I will be reporting this message to corporate, regional and local representatives. I also want to note that there was an additional representative in an undisclosed area that was present, but did not assist myself or incoming customers. Nothing can improve this business. I believe the manager and the front desk person took advantage of my daughter and I without hesitation. The car was estimated to take one to two days and ended up taking over a week. The car never ran well again and we just took it to another mechanic, and he indicated that an aftermarket clutch fan was installed which causedissues with the car and a radiator cap was installed that caused suction to occur. We called ahead and they told us they could get us in to run a diagnostic and help figure out what was wrong. Obviously we were on the road and needed it looked at quickly. Waited over an hour and a half. No communication, no help, just ignored us the entire time. If you don't have time to help, that's all you had to say and we would have understood and gone somewhere else. I won't be bringing my car back here for service. I was informed that with my oil change there would be a vehicle inspection. I asked did my car need anything. The guy at the register stuttered and couldn't even look at me and answered unfortunately your car didn't need anything. I was confused by his choice of words. My car has been running with no windshield fluid and they didn't tell me. My oldest is the one who drives my car and he's the one who informed me I was out even before taking my car to pep boys. If I can give a zero I would, I took my jeep to have the check engine light taken care of (temperature sensor) and brakes replaced. I paid a pretty big penny to have all of this "fixed" but later on my check engine light comes on again and my car is now leaking fluids. I take it back to them and they claim they have no idea why it came back on and tried to charge me again to have it serviced. I declined and took my vehicle to a different location who told me the temperature sensor was jammed in and broken. Additionally, when someone was working on the car "accidently" failed to screw a bolt back into its socket which caused the leakage. So, throughout this whole experience I wasted a bunch of money at this place, and they refuse to refund me or take responsibility for their failures. Please avoid this place at all costs. They are a rip off mechanic shop and charge an arm and a leg to mess up your car even more. read more

Took the truck in to have the brakes inspected and tire rotation. Lug nuts were not tightened properly, all four tires were not done . We were driving down the 15 fwy after our service and the driver wheel went flying off our truck. 13k in damages because (we were in the 4th labe and by the time we got to the shoulder we were on metal). Thankfully the tire did not hit another car. Hopefully, this review and insurance claim against Pep Boys will cause Pep Boys to slow and make sure the job is done correctly instead of done quickly. This shop is a SCAM! Do not go to this specific pep boys. My wife and I had gotten new break pads and discs. Only a few months later it was squeaking all over again. We thought there is no way. So we took it into a different shop. And they had informed us that our break pads were down to absolutely nothing in a few months. With the way the car was and the condition of the disc there was no way that this was possible. After inspecting it my wife and I had quickly realized we were ripped off and the pads were never changed only the disc. I don't know who would do something so petty but it is unacceptable. However it was just this specific shop. I have had amazing experiences at pep boys and recommend to just go to a different pep boys shop in the area where they will treat you with great customer service and actually get the proper work done. read more

They wouldn't take responsibility and simply fix it so I came to Pep Boys and they were able to show me what was wrong and fixed it within a great price range! I only go here now. They have great customer service. They never recommend services I don't need and I know that for a fact because of a device I have installed in my car that let's me know. They always show me before doing the work to prove their recommendations and get my approval. They always call me by name. I'm not just a number here. First and foremost I am not a FAN of Pep Boys at ALL!! Last year was my first and only time buying tires from them. There customer service is awful and they definitely do not care about their customers. I am only going to speak on my experience yesterday. I drove to this location because the internet said they open at 9am, well I didn't need a whole lot done I just needed to see why my tire kept losing air (slow leak). I pull up they just opened mind you they have 5 bay doors with not ONE car in sight. I walk in the guy ask me how can he help me I explain my slow leak and then he proceeds to say on Sundays we are "appointment based only" my next available appointment is at 1 can you come back then? I said no and I WILL NEVER BUY TIRES FROM PEP BOYS AGAIN!! HELL PEP BOYS CAN NEVER GET ANY OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY! You do not treat customers anyway and think they will still support you. I think not!! I'm okay with your business being by "appointments only" but the website needs to state that, plus like I said not one car was being worked on, so I guess the appointment system doesn't work after all. I took my vehicle to pep boy because my air condition was not blowing out cold air on the driver side , but it was cold on the passenger. They said my hose had a hole in it, so they replaced the hose. I was in Hesperia because my brother passed. So when I went home, I had another death in my family. I took my car back to pep boys in my home town, they couldn't find anything wrong. The manager told the srevice tech to have a mechanic triple check. Well, now it's a bad air compressor, I asked why they did find this out the first time i took it in for the same thing. So now he said my air compressor is good, but the seal is broken. I don't know what to believe. I feel like they took advantage of me as a female senior citizen. I will never go back to pep boys. The technician I initially talked to told me my tire was unavailable from all stores and discontinued...He offered optional tires...but told me I had to wait in order for him to show me. I generally take my car to the dealer for service, but one day my brakes started to make a lot of noise. The dealer is only open Saturday on the weekend and I only had Sundays available for the next 2 months. I brought the car in and explained what was going on. The staff was nice and welcoming. I had an appointment, but still waited a long time to get my car back because there was only one mechanic on staff. That didn't bother me so much as long as the issue was fixed. When I left I thought all was well, but after about 10 days the noise came back. I called to see if they could take another look to check there were no problems, but when I explained what happened the guy on the phone said that he remembered I asked for CHEAP brakes. I was annoyed but made my appointment. Then I had an issue come up so I had to reschedule, then the person I spoke to said he remembered me and the conversation we had. He said he remembered me asking for cheap brakes and I was told there would be an issue with nose because of brake dust. At this point I was really upset beause of the blatant lies. I don't know if this is a sales tactic they use to get people to spend more money to prove they aren't poor. I am not the type of person to want to prove how much money I have. I was going to also get 4 new tires and get something else checked out, but decided that I would not be overcharged and then be told I am cheap. So, I went somewhere else to get my brakes fixed properly. I wanted to post this sooner but couldn't find my recipt to show i paid for almost $70 ceramic brakes. Whether they installed those, I'm not sure because i was shown the brakes after they were replaced and the pads were goke after only a couple months. I spoke with my dealership and they said they could have replaced rotors and brake pads with OEM parts for only $420! If you dont want to have your problem fixed the first time, and to be treated like you are poor then this is the mechanic to go to. read more

Specifically asked for the regular oil change twice and it's the service I requested when I made my appointment online but did synthetic anyways and never said anything about it before when I dropped it off and he was really rude and disrespectful when I was picking it up. They had also called and told me that it would be 1200 dollars for brakes and rotors, still no mention of them wanting to do synthetic. Took it down the street for 200 dollars at a brake place.
