After years of going to Firestone, I decided to look for an honest place and one where I can trust the folks I have quoting me prices (some issues came to light with my former choice). I found it! Very fast and honest store. Adam the manager is super helpful and works hard to get you the best deal. They match competitors prices and beat them. Pep Boys also offers a rewards program for every dollar you spend on service or merchandise you earn gift cards to Pep Boys. I have used a 35.00 and I am waiting for my next. I have had brakes done (fast, right, and fantastic price), bought new tires (another great experience), had an alignment, and have gotten several oil changes. Constant bait and switch with these guys. Went in for advertised 19.99 oil change... had this done other places for this price no prob. Counter rep had me complete paperwork and I left... on foot to go grab a bite... then get a call... oh its $50... but we can give you for $30 some odd dollars.... oh and by the way you didn't fill out all the paperwork.... I don't know why I even try to go to Pep Boys... every experience I have ever had with them was horrible... no more. read more

Updated review: I had my Diesel in for service and the same excellent level of customer service was present in all the employees with which I spoke: Nico and Ric in particular. I find them to be honest and really know their stuff. They will not steer you wrong. You could find services cheaper but they won't be better and you'll probably pay for things you did not need; so, don't take your vehicles anywhere else. read more

I want to thank Joseph and the team for fixing my brakes oh honda civic, they inspected it and told me it just needed lube, whereas another place told me they had to replace the control arm 675 dollar repairI left the place paying nothing and fixed problem. $3.49 fuse replaced cost $172.75 rip off. Never ever pepboys... I told them blown fuse so they knew why didn't start..changed battery for $153,00 day before they promised tighten battery but didn't. read more

Great service, stood open late to hook me up with 4new tires. Buy 3 get the forth one free! All good except for one dude with red hat. I Asked a question and he "went" to go find out and had me waiting but when he come back he said he forgot, plus he had a problem or time of the month! He sucked but everyone else was awesome! This store has excellent customer service. Nico the service advisor went above and beyond on my service Had issues with new tires going flat and they have made numerous attempts to find and make repairs. Brought car in to them again today with same issue. Could not find any leaks so Nico and team put on 2 new tires again to try to solve this issue. This place was great I had super problems with my recent car and they helped me so much I was able to use 2 coupons one for 30$ off a synthetic oil change and another for 10% off any service they guy was really nice and explained that my car needed spark plugs and coils we did the work cheap lil over $300 out the door for a lot of work I loved them so much when the car gave out a couple days later I towed it to the pep boys I was closest to. I went on vacation to Georgia, and on a Sunday, I had a flat tire that needed replacing and needed it ASAP so I could attend a reunion 150 miles away. Pep Boys was the only ones opened and were able to find 2 tires, the right size, but the rating was wrong for my car. They told me it would be safe, They told me the other 2 tires would need replacing when I return home (which I was already aware of), and to be sure that all 4 tires were the same rating. I returned home safely and went to the Pep Boys on Bear Valley Road. I told them the story and needed to replace the remaining 2 tires. Sal, the manager, told me he was not comfortable getting me tires with a different rating for my car. Pep Boys replaced my 2 tires from Georgia free of charge. Overfilled my oil! Possibly blew my gasket and/or stripped my drain plug! Then when I brought it to there attention I was pushed to the back of the line and made to wait for over an hour and a half to have the problem corrected! In fact, still sitting in the lobby waiting! read more

I called ahead to get tires put on my car because my rear tire got a slash in it. They told me they had the tires i needed in stock. I got there and magically they didn't exist. No good lying sobs. I will never ever ever go to any pep boys for anything again. read more

I would love to say I could give a great review, but unfortunately I feel like they have been very dishonest with me. I brought the car in for an oil change and tire rotation and asked them to look at the breaks. They said the breaks were fine, but the struts needed to be replaced and that would run me $800. I was taken aback that we needed such costly repair as the car has only 64,000 miles on it. I told my husband about it and we were getting ready to take the plunge when I decided to call the dealership where we bought the car and made an appointment to have them look at the struts. They told me my struts were doing great. Just to be sure I took the car to A Action auto and they also told me my struts were fine. My husband went back to Pep- boys to ask why they gave the diagnosis that they did when two other mechanics gave a different report. They told him because some book that they have says its time to change the struts. Hmm, pretty fishy diagnosis for such a costly repair!?! They were nice, just not sure if they are good at honesty. I will be taking my business to A Action Auto from now on, they only stood to benefit by telling me the same thing as Pep- Boys, but instead they told me the truth. they have an online booking system, unfortunately the mechanics do not obviously know how to use the system, as once again i booked my car in for oil change online, dropped off the car early, parked in front of a bay door so they had to move the car to use the bay and upon my return an hour and twenty minutes later the car had not been serviced, we have so many choices for oil change in the hi desert we do not need to go to pepboys and be dissapointed and waste our time when we have other places to go. very poor show again from the pepboys company read more

I stopped in at this location and was greeted by Anthony who was really awesome had a great attitude all I needed was air in my tire and he checked all my tires and told me no worries I told him I was a widow and I didn't know how to check the tire preasure with an air gauge on my tire and I was afraid of driving on the freeway which I needed to do to get home and he said don't worry I'll help you and I said do you have to pay you anything I don't have any money , he said no I it's for free you don't have to worry even gave me an extra tire gauge he had. I thought oh my gosh who's going to go out of their way to do that? they really have my business in the future they are awesome their customer service was awesome and I didn't even have to pay them for anything thank you Anthony for showing me your kindness you deserve a fat raise for helping people out you have a great heart. Went there for oil change. Noticed one other customer there. Left it, and returned later. Customer was gone but the same white car was in the handicap parking. Didn't see a plack. Next day I so happened to be driving past the store. Same car in handicap parking. Good and fast service. BUT! Any business letting employees park in handicap zones. Should get a negative. Worst customer service EVER! First of all I went there to buy windshield wipers for my car. I enter the building and there are two workers behind the counter. I waited for one of them to acknowledge the fact that I was there, and did that happen? Of course not. One was on the phone I wasn't expecting him to say anything because he was already assisting someone over the phone. But the other one, he was just typing away at the computer he had more then enough time to acknowledge me and tell me he will be right with me. One of the guys came from the back, looked dead at me and then looked away. Seriously?! So I did the only thing I felt was appropriate. I said out loud "Ok yeah, I'm going to Auto Zone." And I left. I'm a business owner and if any of my employees was to treat our clients like that I would have no problem grilling them about it. YES I went to Auto Zone and YES I got my windshield wipers. I wouldn't recommend the Pep Boys in Hesperia, CA to my worst enemy. Crappy service. I had my car towed to Long Beach, a place recommended to me, and the car was repaired in one day at a low cost. The high desert sucks. read more

I've used pep-boys in Hesperia several times for oil changes, tires you name it but each time before going in I call and ask for a direct price quote, at least 3 times they tell me one thing over the phone and once i get there its aways one hundred dollars or more than what they said, and I cant leave unless its done... seems like a bit of a trap to me. It took them 3 and a half hours to change breaks and rotors and when I finally (after 2 hours of waiting when I was quoted 1 hour), go to ask what the problem is they tell me "Oh, someone for got to get the part out of the back, I'll get that for you right now"....Then it took another hour and a half after that.... Apparently reading, matching part numbers or taking initiative isn't in their job description when they're hired on. I will NEVER EVER take my car back to this pep-boys.... who wants to spend $600 to get crappy service and wait 3 hours for something that could have been done in less than 1 hour? read more

I would give them a zero but Yelp doesn't give that option. I took my vehicle in for a jolting shift and spoke to Alfredo. They only drove it around for 2 minutes and didn't even inspect the car and Alfredo kept mentioning of how he really wanted to send my vehicle to a transmission shop before they were done which I thought was weird. Then told me that my transmission synch rows were going out at 52k car which is practically a new car which was really weird. I even asked him and he said it was highly unlikely to happen. The even more awkward is that he kept repeating don't forget to tell Atech Transmission that Alfredo sent you and to ask for John or Paul and then even wrote it down on paper for me. Today I got the jolting problem fixed but it was only the motor mount and transmission mount which was something Pep Boys could of done. I believe Alfredo sent me to the transmission shop to make more on the side from Pep Boys. I also with him specifically a year ago. I brought in the same vehicle for an inspection before I went to Vegas. Alfredo this time was a mechanic and not a service writer behind the counter. Both these two people told me I had a really bad oil leak. I would of noticed something. So I took it back home and found out Alfredo loosened the oil release valve. So Buyer Beware this person and place is making up repairs and doing damage and not addressing the correct repairs. read more
