An absolutely unbelievable mess. We bought four tires from Amazon and had them shipped to this store. Travis confirmed all four tires arrived so my daughter made an appointment and drove her car there to have them installed. After she left we got a call saying they were missing a tire. After DAYS of arguing about the tire we were told we had to contact Amazon to make sure they delivered all four tires...even though Travis confirmed they were there....and one went mysteriously missing. Amazon graciously shipped out another tire which sat on the shelf at Pep Boys for SIX DAYS. I contacted Amazon asking them about the tire and they informed me it was delivered six days ago. I called Travis and he confirmed the tire was there. No one bothered to let us know they had received the missing tire. I asked what could they do to try and make this right as the time the first delivery was made until the date the tires are scheduled to be installed was SIX WEEKS. Travis said we could come pick up the tires and take them somewhere else to have them installed...as if that would be a convenience. read more

There was a huge nail stuck in my tire so I came here assuming that I'd have to get the whole thing replaced; lucky for me, a super nice guy named Ryan was on duty and told me that wouldn't be necessary. So far, I am very happy with this location. Staff is very polite and honest. When I had my truck tires serviced, they would make it very clear that the online appointment system wasn't working right; therefore, I had to call in to make an appointment. The rest of the locations wouldn't say that to me, ever. When they told me it was fine to go in, they meant it! Wait time was acceptable. No trick or trying to sell me unnecessary services/parts. I'm kind of shocked to see bad reviews of this place on here. I've always received great service from here. They get the work done quickly and at a great price. It's a good idea to join the rewards program since you will get discounts. I always use a coupon for anything I've had done. I've tried several mechanics in the Houston area but I'm sticking with these guys from here on out. They fixed a major suspension issue and fixed incompetent competitor royally screwed up. Plus they have cool store. I love to take my daughter here because we're able to wander the aisles and check out the cool auto accessories. Plus they have a big selection of snacks and sodas to have while you wait. If snacks don't interest you there are several eating options right around the corner just a few hundred feet away. My experience today with Josh and his crew cemented my feelings forever about auto repair. We're sticking with Pep boys. They always fix it right!! read more

I came in for a break inspection b/c it's free. My car was turning to the right when I braked so I went in to see exactly what was wrong w/ it. The lady that worked there, I believe her name was Lucy, she was really nice and helping me out, but she wasn't the one working on my car. I'm not sure who was but they took off all four wheels to do the inspection, which is fine, I understand they want to diagnose the problem. About 30 mins pass by and they give me a quote on what's wrong w/ my car & the quote to fix it. I turned the quote down b/c it was way too much to begin with, about $1000, & also b/c I really only came in for the free brake check. The Service Manager told me if I didn't want to do anything, I told him no & he said okay it will take about 30 mins to put everything back together. That's fine, I'm a patient guy, & they helped me out anyway. It passed 30 mins & not one person was working on putting the parts back together on my car until I told a worker. Overall, it's pretty decent service, I will say I am dissatisfied w/ the time management going on and the delegation of putting the parts back together. I'm 50/50. I understand that you're diagnosing my car, & I didn't pay anything to fix it after the quote so I tipped the guy anyway b/c he is doing labor & I know how that feels being a handyman myself, but hey I know if I wasn't a patient person, this would be a whole other review! I went in for the summer prep package. Originally, no one knew what I needed and they took a very long time just getting ready to take my car. After at least an hour they finally took it into the garage to begin. The package included several checks, tests, and maintenance. After several hours (over 4) they told me I was finished. I got into my car only to notice that they had not completed the tire check nor replaced all the windshield wiper blades as promised. To make matters worse they charged me extra for the blades that should have been included as free. At this point I became immensely frustrated that my tires still we not correct and told them I wanted to leave. I had intended to come back another day to get the rest of the items completed. Upon driving home, my car began to shake. I drove to a Sam's Club to have the tires checked and it turns out that the tires were completely out of balance and not even secured properly to the car. I could have had a major accident had I not stopped. Suffice to say that I will NEVER return to this PepBoys location in the future... It is doubtful that I will ever return to any PepBoys after this experience. read more

On 9/1/2017 around 6 pm I went to this store to re-balance my tires bought from pep boys with life time wheel balancing and road hazard warranty purchased along with it. The service desk cashier Michael told me there is no life time balancing for tires and i had to pay about $35 . I showed him what was written on the service work sheet: life time computerized wheel balancing as long as i own the tire. Michael went to ask his supervisor and then went out to check my tires. Michael came back and told me the rear tires were old, they can't balance it. I told Michael life time wheel balancing applies regardless the tire's age, my rear tires are still usable. Michael refused to process the free wheel balancing order. I then asked to talk to his supervisor. The supervisor came out the booth, checked my previous pep boys work order and told me they don't balance if tread is less than 1/16 inch(maybe misheard 1/6 inch). The supervisor used his finger to feel the tread in my tires and told me the tires can't be balanced. I was surprised because my tire tread was still above the tread wear indicators. I asked supervisor where it says life-time wheel balancing is based on the tread depth. I told supervisor my tire is usable and I won't come to have it balanced if tire is not usable. He said he will find out. The supervisor played at service computer a few minutes, then went into his booth. I waited for about 5 minutes, the supervisor didn't come out. I then called him outside the booth, asking what's going on. The supervisor told me he is looking information for me. I waited about another 20-30 minutes and saw two cashiers going in and out the supervisor's booth but the supervisor didn't come out of the booth and talked to me. I took a peek inside the booth, the supervisor is no longer there. I asked service cashier Michael where the supervisor is. Michael told me he left for home. So I wasted my gas driving to this store and waited about 1 hour trying to get wheel balancing service as promised by pepboys. The supervisor (his name is Josha as cashier Michael told me) and cashier Michael played tricks on me for not providing free life time wheel balancing service to me, violating pepboys' company policy and very mean. Avoid this PepBoys location at all costs. I towed my car there at 10:00 AM and they told me they would call me when they were finished with their diagnostic test in a few hours. At 3:00 PM, I still hadn't heard from them so I called for an update. They told me that the employee running my diagnostic test was on his lunch break (At 3:00 PM?) but he would be looking at my car as soon as he got back. 4 more hours passed and still no word from PepBoys. I went into the store to see that my car still hadn't moved from the location I towed it to. They finally ran the diagnostic at 7:00 PM (9 hours after I brought it in) and told me that the engine had to be replaced. I went and got a second opinion from a Hyundai dealership who told me the engine did not need to be replaced, it was just a timing belt issue. My car has been repaired (no thanks to Pepboys) and runs great now. The employees also had no sympathy for my insanely long wait time and did not give me a dime of reimbursement for their incorrect diagnosis. Stay as far away from this place as possible. read more

Over $2000 worth of work done to my car, a 2003 Chrysler Sebring, I come here about 4:30 September 15 and the first it looked like they were going to help me though slow getting started on it! They move the car from the front of the building to the parking lot and almost 4 hours later they have not even touched it. They were going to do a tire rotation and balance since I did buy the tires here, they were going to check the radiator fluid since I did get a brand new radiator here and was having problems with it. They were going to tell me a little bit more about the check engine light. Sitting here for four damn hours and one car after the other coming in and out and I finally get up and say what's going on with my car? Basically nothing I have no idea what their intentions were but it wasn't to work on my car. Do not go to this location unless you want to spend your entire day wasted sitting here. And I will be calling corporate office and I will get resolution out of this. If I don't my big fat mouth will be telling everyone I come in contact with about this company and it will not be good. Roughly a month ago I brought my car to this Pep Boys location to have the AC checked. My car's AC can only regulate it's temperature if it's cool outside. Once the outside temperature reaches 85 degrees or above the car starts blowing warm air. I knew this well before I dropped off my vehicle. I When I first brought my car to Pep Boys in April it happened to be cool that day, therefore, they were unable to replicate the problem and said the AC has plenty of Freon and there are no leaks. I paid for the AC diagnosis and they said bring it back within 90 days when it's hot outside and we'll take another look and we will not charge you for AC diagnosis test for a second time. After some time passed and the temperature had reached 90 degrees or more I brought my car back to their shop last Friday 5/18. I explained to the service manager that they'll need to leave the car outside in the heat so they can replicate the issue. Due to another major AC job they didn't have a chance to check my vehicle till the next day. I received a phone call the following day around noon from another service manager and he told me they were unable to replicate the issue. I explained to them again that they need to leave the car in the heat for a few hours and then turn on the AC and it'll only blow warm air. The service manager said he didn't believe that information was relayed to the AC technician. The following morning I called and spoke to yet another service manager in which he explained he was unable to replicate the issue. I asked if it was clearly explained to the AC technician that if you're wanting to replicate the issue the car must be left in the heat. If the car is brought under cover or into their garage the car will be able to blow cool air and not replicate the issue. He swore they left it outside, checked the AC, and it only blew cold air. At this point I was beyond frustrated because I knew for a fact that my car would not blow cold air if left outside in the direct Houston heat. I asked to speak with a manager in which he replied he was the manager. I asked to speak with his manager in which he diffused the situation by suggesting to take it to another shop. He said he'd call me back if he was able to find another shop that could check it. Never heard back so I called back 2 hours later to find out they'd taken it to another shop in West U. I spoke with the service manager their and before I could explain what needed to happen he took the words right out of my mouth. They were finally able to REPLICATE the issue. They drove my car back to the original shop and said you'll have to wait till Monday because our AC guy is in Dallas. The AC technician didn't get in till late Monday. He didn't have a chance to look at it till Tuesday. Once he did the service manager called me and told me once again ... surprise surprise ... they weren't able to replicate the problem. He suggested that it's probably related to the compressor going bad. I asked if they'd checked other possible problems such as air flow restrictions, the evaporative temperature sensor, condenser, expansion valve, etc. you name it. They said no we didn't do any of that. The shop had my car for 5 days and only confirmed what I told them from the beginning. At this point I'd finally come to the realization it would best to cut my losses and find another mechanic shop. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I do want to say JB the service manager was very pleasant regardless of my clear frustration. read more

I scheduled an appointment online for 4pm to get some new tires installed. When I arrived, I asked an employee for help. He said he would help me "after this customer". He promptly disappeared. I started to play some games on my tablet periodically asking an employee for help. An hour after I arrived, I asserted myself "rudely". I was finally seen too. I could hear employees in the back, conversing, and I could see the mechanics milling around the back without doing any work. If you come here, just buy something and get out. The team at pep boys was slower than slow took 2 hours after car was on the starting block to install 4 rims I had purchased from there website. they told me to come back so they could tighten the lug nut in a couple of days. This seamed a bit odd of a request but did what they said, when I came back they broke 2 of the center hubs and told me to come back in a couple of days and they would fix them. My wife was following me in her car and noticed that my back tire had a bad wobble. went back to the store and the teck told me the rims were the wrong size this is dangerous and could have resulted in the wheel falling off, they put my old rims back on and said they will call me when ready, no call was given and the man at the front desk could not give me a refund even thought I had a receipt, he needed a different receipt that I by chance could pull up on my cell phone. this store is located in spring texas, avoid pep boys at all is your best action, there was a lady with 2 small children that was in the loby for 4 and 1/2 hours waiting for a simple job to be done to her car what a group of miss fit children they have running that circus. read more
