I scheduled an online appointment for a routine oil change. I arrived approximately 30 minutes before the appointment time. Upon arrival, I was greeted while walking through the front doors. I was helped immediately. The waiting area has cushioned seats, a tv playing local news and a coffee station to sip on while you wait. The staff is very friendly and informative. Great service.

Buyer Beware. This place is sketchy at best. I have a 2007 Prius and the aircon is blowing luke warm. Pep Boys website advertises an AC diagnostic for $35. I took my car in yesterday for the check. It is $50 to do this. I am told by Ramon, the sales clerk, the cost of checking my car is more. The test takes the same amount of time as another car, but they can charge more for a Prius, according to Ramon. Perhaps if your car is the color blue, they may charge more for that too. They also charged me sales tax as well. In Florida, the law does not allow for sales tax on a service unless parts are installed. I pointed this out to Ramon and he made the claim his barber charges tax and Pep Boys is a big corporation and always charges taxes. Ramon will argue about everything. Don't waste your time trying to reason with him, he will just argue with you. He is a "know it all". Ramon told me my condenser was bad and it would be $750 for the job of replacing it. He then told me my water pump is bad too and that was going to be another $741 to replace. He then told me I needed to make the decision now if I wanted the work done if I wanted to apply the diagnostic fee to the total. I felt pressured and scammed because I didn't have any fluid (water or antifreeze) leaking in my garage and my radiator level is normal and no indicator in the cabin warning of an overheat. I communicated my frustration and he said his manager would allow one additional day for me to make the decision and apply the diagnostic fee to the total. I left and went less than a mile down the road to Master Tech Auto for a second opinion. I'm glad I did. They didn't charge me for the diagnosis either. There was nothing wrong with my water pump at all. They replaced the aircon condenser and the entire job came to $389. Pep Boys quoted $750 plus tried to get me for an additional $740 for a water pump that had nothing wrong with it. I saved over $1100 going somewhere else. I would suggest you do that as well. These guys will try to rip you off. Very sad. Anyone doing business at Pep Boys on Vine Street, beware. Once you have your estimate, go somewhere else for a second opinion and estimate. Clearly yesterday, they attempted to scam me. I'm attaching their $35 website add for an aircon diagnostic, the receipt for tax on a service, and the estimate for my car.

I called the number for this location to see if personal checks were accepted. I was told yes with ID. When my wife tried to pay Angel rudely told my wife they don't and that no one would have told her that. He went on to say she could leave but they would keep her car. Seeing that she was in the car during service this would be a physical threat. Another employee apologized to my wife and said no one likes to work with/for Angel. On February 28, I brought my 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan to Valvoline for an oil change. At the time…read moreof arrival, the vehicle was operational. During the service, Valvoline staff made comments about a noise coming from the vehicle and stated that it sounded like a transmission-related issue, specifically suggesting it may need transmission fluid. Based on that concern, I requested that the fluids be checked. I was informed that they were checked, and the service documentation reflects that the transmission fluid was marked as "OK." This vehicle has a sealed transmission system, and no explanation has been provided as to how the transmission fluid was properly verified. On March 17, while driving to Xtreme Motor Works to have fluids topped off in preparation for an out-of-town trip, the vehicle began bucking. Due to safety concerns, I left the vehicle at the shop overnight and did not continue driving it. Valvoline later acknowledged responsibility for an oil leak related to the prior service. I offered to have the vehicle towed to the mechanic for repair. This option was declined. Valvoline staff stated that the vehicle was safe to drive despite the oil leak because there was still oil in the vehicle. On March 18, they chose to operate the vehicle and drove it approximately 30 miles to the mechanic shop. Following this, the vehicle's condition worsened significantly. The vehicle is now completely inoperable and presents multiple transmission-related fault codes consistent with pressure loss and internal failure. Valvoline has since refused responsibility for the current damage, stating they were unaware of any transmission issue and has closed my claim. While I acknowledge the possibility of a pre-existing condition, Valvoline identified a potential transmission concern during service, documented the transmission fluid as "OK" without a verifiable method on a sealed system, accepted responsibility for an oil leak, and made the determination that the vehicle was safe to operate. They then chose to drive the vehicle despite the availability of a safer alternative. Valvoline failed to exercise reasonable care in handling the vehicle. The decision to operate the vehicle under these conditions directly preceded and contributed to a significant worsening of its condition.
