went in today for an air conditioner check dreading the worst. After checking out the car I was told it was a very simple fix. Apparently my kid had turned off a couple of buttons while cleaning the car. They took the time to explain to me how to work the controls and even a couple of tips on how to keep the ac cold all summer. All of this was done for under $20 which to me is a great value as everyone knows the economy is not great and I don't have money to throw away. I had called around to a couple of other shops and they quoted over $1200 without even looking at the car. I'm glad they took the time to help me out. read more

I was quoted 244 for a 18in standard tire replacement on a Highlander and the second my wife walks through the door it jumps to 344. Since when does tax and mount cost an extra hundred dollars? An "all in"quote is tax/tire/mount but the second they saw a women the price increased. Im sorry but that's a sexist move on the companies part. read more

This is more than meets the eye. They do have a decent amount of car parts and maintenance items such oils, filters, brakes, etc. The also have a nice selection of tires which was a surprise for me as I didn't know they sold tires here. The store could use some updating but for the few times I have popped in, they have been helpful and had what I needed so for that, I'll give them 4 stars. Enjoy! read more

I had a flat tire so I was able to drive to Pep Boys to get it repaired. They told me that the tire couldn't be repaired and they said the could give me a new tire for over $200. I told them to put the spare on and I will drive to another tire shop. When I got to the other tire shop they looked at the bad tire that I took with me and said it was fixable and they fixed it for $59. I'll never go back to Pep Boys for anything! read more

On a Sunday (Mother's Day) traveling two hours from home to see mom....a nail in our tire was quickly repaired by the kind and efficient guys over at Pep Boys. They deserve a good review. Ever since the old crew was laid off it has gone down. Bring back the old crew!! Daughter went in a week ago for tire balance & rotation, he claimed the mechanic was out sick while another worker was just standing around looking bored? Do the techs only specialize in one thing? She called a few days later & he told her he was still sick & didn't know when he would be back. Made an online appt. Walked in 30 minutes before, couldn't find anyone? Yelled "hello" & he acted like I was breaking into the place. He was stationed in an office area & didn't come out. So he yelled back at me, "we are closed!" I told him about the online appt & he was very unprofessional in his way of talking to people..."you shouldn't of been able to do that, because I don't have any workers." When I walked out I did noticed one of the 10 different signs taped on the door did claim they were closed for inventory...but it was taped at the bottom of the door by your feet? Then why is the door unlocked? Why are you there? We've been loyal Pepboys customers & recommended them to everyone. Not anymore. Why text me or email me promotional deals if the store is basically paying a man to just sit & turn people away very ugly & rudely? As I was leaving to find a new place to bring my business to, more vehicles pulled in. Seems they are losing lots of business! read more

I inquired about the Free AC Check on the website and I was told, "free? We don't do nothing for free." So I told him what was on the website. His response was, "look, all we gonna do is turn it on, put our hand in front of the vent and tell you it don't work." I said, well I know it doesn't work....but the website says you are certified and able to lead me in the right direction on what the problem is or may be. He just shrugged his shoulders and asked if I wanted to make an appointment..... I said, "no, I'll save you pros some time and tell you that it doesn't work and I'll just take it to a real mechanic shop. He said, "we are the real mechanics". So at least I left laughing and with a smile on my face. This isn't the first time we've had a problem here. The last time was so awful that they comped us our $200 and have us 4 free oil changes and tore rotations. We never used those, the services we paid for were bad enough that I can't imagine what we would get for free.... Never returning. read more

Take your car to do service else where! This place is slow, I was one of the first customers here and it took them almost 2 hours to do a rotation and some tests.. and it was not even busy at all!! From what it seemed, they had more than enough workers to be quicker than 2 hours!! read more

I was given a quote to replace lower control arms on my Daughter's car. I agreed to have the work done. When they told me it was ready I gave my 18yo my credit card and told her to go pickup her car. When I got my credit card statement a few days later I noticed the labor was about $1,000 more than the quote. When I called them on it, they simply explained that it took longer than expected. $1,000 dollars in additional labor without a call to approve such a massive change. It doubled the ticket on that repair. The service writer and the store manager, say there is nothing that can be done. If they don't make this write, they've lost a customer for life. read more

I am APPALLED at how consistently slow this place is. Out of necessity, I have been here twice in the past & both times Pep Boys was so understaffed that I experienced ridiculous wait times. Well, consider this Pep Boys' third strike. I have had it. I waited in line for over 20 minutes while the Service & Tires employee was still assisting the same customer, who simply wanted to buy 2 tires. I know this because they had a whole conversation about it. How much can you say about tires?!?? Also, the employee was waiting on this customer when I walked in, so I shudder to think how long the whole transaction took. The icing on the cake was how apathetic the idle cashiers were as the line of unserviced people both grew & fumed. When it finally was my turn, I was told that the wait would be over 2 hours. Being from out of town my van needed to be towed to this pep boys. I've been going to pep boys most of my life. So this store had my van Wednesday, Thursday, and most of Friday before any work was done to it. The van was on the road Friday evening only to return to the store on a flatbed truck a hour later. I did not know pep boys stores do not have full time mechanics on duty while the store is open. I did not get back on the road until Saturday afternoon. Carlos and Brian was very HELPFUL in getting me to a hotel for the night and picking me up in the morning. read more

I called the store to ask and the person who answered gave me the BIGGEST attitude. No reason to have an attitude at 8am. So I left and went to Express Oil Change & Tire Engineers. Apparently after reading the previous reviews, NOTHING has changed at Pep Boys. I wish that I had read that BEFORE going there. Had an "Appointment" at 10 AM to have two tires replaced. I showed up to the counter at 9:55AM. So off I went to the waiting room. At 10:30 AM I looked and my vehicle was still in the parking lot. At 10:35 they took my vehicle in to start the job. At 11:15 I went to look to see what had been done. The right front tire was off and I was thinking that it should be done by 11:30. At 12:30 it still was not done and I informed them that I was leaving in 15 minutes whether it was done or not. Having an "Appointment" does NOT give you priority in getting work done. It only means that you will have to wait longer as they "work in" the Johnny Wadd come lately's. Finally at 12:45 it was done. I had requested that the right front tire and right rear tire be replaced. Places like this you "Trust, but verify". So before even leaving the parking lot I looked at the work they had done. The General Service Tech (GST) had put both new tires on the front. I was not happy at all about that. I marched into the store and told the sales ass. that we had a huge problem. That was when I started talking to Carlos the manager. He said that he could do the job right, the second time. I told him that I did not have the time as I had places to be in the next hour. I had to make an appointment for the following day. So the next day i took a good look at the rims they put new tires on and noticed several black marks on the face of the rim. They were NOT there before I went to Prep Boys. I pointed this out to Carlos the manager and eventually had them buff out the scuff marks. He tried to make me a "deal" on two more new tires, but at only a $60 discount it is NOT worth the HASSLE of having to wait so long. It should have taken max 90 minutes to mount and balance two tires, not 150 minutes. I will NEVER go there again. read more

If I could give a 0 star I would. Pep Boys is KNOWN for being slow so I went in today expecting that it would take awhile to get my car diagnosed..... however I didn't expect it to take FOUR hours ! What really has be me upset is that they lied to me over the four hours several times.... I took the car in at 11:30am and they said it would take an hour and 15 mins to have it diagnosed. I left car (with the keys) and went over to Barns and Nobel to hang out until the car was ready. After and hour and 15 mins I go back and my car hadn't been moved. I went into and asked why they hadn't done anything with the car and they said because the master mechanic had ton to lunch. I told them that if the mechanic was going to lunch then why did they tell me it would be done in an hour..... the mechanic wasn't going to be back for another 1/2 hour so I needed to run a errand and 20 mins after I left they called and said the mechanic was back and he would look at the car as soon as I got back. Ten mins later I come back park the car and give them my keys...... at 3:00pm I go to the service manager and tell him I have been there all day and go out into the parking lot and my car STILL hasn't been put into the garage..... "I'm told that the car wouldn't start" and I told them that is why I was there in the first place !..... Then I told the Service manage that I had been there since 11:30 and he said he would look into it ! He comes back and tells me the reason that they didn't look at it in the morning was because they didn't have the keys ! I told him they are lying to you because when I came back the woman had to go get the keys so I could run my errand and I said that if they couldn't start the car they needed to push the car into the garage and find out what was wrong with it ..... then he try to tell me that they can't find a part in my car that they have to hook up to to do the diagnosis and the "master" mechanic is looking through my manual to find out where it is...... how "master" can this mechanic be ?! At this point the Service Manager ask if I needed something to drink..... I politely told him it was a little late for that and to please take my car down and give me my keys that i needed to go home. (I was two hours late taking my medication) He gives me the keys and I walk out and then he chases me down in the parking lot asking if I wanted to make an appointment to come back ! I asked him to give me one reason why I would want to do that ! and said NO I WILL NEVER COME BACK. Being slow is one thing but to keep lying about it and making up stories is just plain unethical ! How does this help the situation? It's beyond me. That's my story...... you decide if you think you should go there..... read more

Went this morning to replace two worn belts. 5-18-17 around 1015am only 1 guy helping anybody and he was from the performance parts area which is it's own area within the store. Nobody at parts desk or register. Waited for 15 minutes then went to Auto Zone. I spend lot's of money at this Pep Boys.................VERY DISAPPOINTED! read more

Worst car repair ever. I asked them to rotate the tires which they noted on the report they did but they actually didn't. When asked about it they said they put the best tires on the rear for better traction in wet weather. I asked why you rotate tires and they said for even wearing of the tires. Well as majority of cars wear the front tires quicker than the rear, seems they would never rotate tires then. They stayed that rear wheel drive cars wear the rear tires quicker than the front which is probably true if you light he tires up all the time but for 99% of vehicles the front tires wear quicker due to extra weight on them and the constant turning of the tires which is why they are SUPPOSED to get rotates to the rear. Sad part is that the last time I was in for a service, they failed to rotate the tires which makes it that much worse. That said, I will never take any vehicle to Pep Boys ever again! read more

I didn't get satisfy with their service. I went there to fix my brake spent like 4 hrs and paid 500. He told me I can drive safe. As soon as I Drive few miles and I got problem with the same brake.I almost had an accident. I went there and told about the incident they told that I need to change my Brake fluid wow!!!
