The store is in the middle of a remodel and it's a shit hole inside ripped chairs stained and fallen ceiling tiles bathroom is a shit hole you have to walk all the way through the back room to get to it. Fernando had a very rude condescending tone and is very disrespectful especially when speaking to a lady. I would hate to see how he treats the female in his life like his mother/sis or significant other. I noticed it 3 months back when dropping off my car for oil change his attitude and energy was very negative, again we all have our bad days or going through something I get it, try smiling and being grateful sometimes it will help I promise. We are all going thru something. I've been coming to PB establishment for years and alway had positive vibe but not this time this time I drop off the car and I've had some work done including headlights so I picked up in the morning it's hard to see if both headlights are working properly due to the daylight/sunlight got off work at 6ish it was dark obviously when I turn on headlights I noticed only one HL on each was working and they weren't lined up properly brought it back and Fernando acted like it was my fault with his attitude and by the way he was talking to me in very disrespectful manner I even told to take pics which he did and he was like but I didn't see how it was when u picked up omg as if I had the skills and time to mess around with it for kicks shoot it's complicated enough for a master technician to fixed it already. He didn't even apologized or anything all he kept saying well I wasn't there this and that I'm like this isn't court nobody is pointing fingers or being called to witness stand lol just be held accountable for your actions. Help make the team look good with professionalism and accountability stop being argumentative, and stop throwing the team and manager under the bus. Anyways some of the associates there seem friendly and helpful at least they are smiling and not acting like they hate the hell out of their jobs and playing the blaming game and being disrespectful to females/customers I'm sure I'm not the first one to complain. Came in the morning to get a service and I was told it was busy. They wanted me to drop the car off. I don't leave it because I have things to do. Instead of waisting time I went online to make an appointment that way it was convenient for them and me. So in the afternoon I show 15 min early to the appointment and they were backed up. The bumper fell on the road and the bumper broke up. I am requesting that they pay me for the part because it was their responsibility to reinstall it and THEY ARE SAYING THAT THE PART HAS ALREADY BEEN BROKEN. I got a quote from Alonso for a brake repair job in Lake Forest...he quoted $145 for my front brake pads to be replaced and rotors resurfaced. I asked to send me an email. It was for one side, when I looked at the invoice, $290 was the total before taxes. I called 2-3 other Pepboys in the area, Costa Mesa on Bristol and another in Rancho Santa Margarita...both quoted me $209 for the same job. I called again and asked what was the repair price, now he quoted $245-$255. I asked why so much and now a difference and discrepancies in the price...he told me that's what he sees and if I don't like it, go to the other places. I merely asked if he could match it, he said, No! I asked if he could call either cooperate or the surrounding Pepboys and get to the bottom of this...he said he didn't have time until I said I called cooperate office...2 hours later it was the same price. Got there and they didn't start on my car until 2 hours later...my appointment was at 3:10pm. Then later was very condescending and a total jerk: never have I raised my voice nor used any obscenities. Such a rude person working at customer service. Later he decided to refuse service on my car when I asked if he told me that I was rude, after I asked for someone I can be serviced. The other guy, Fernando said nope, I had to deal with Alonso. They have a pact going here...very unprofessional and playing games with cooperate money and customers. Even after my wife and I agreed to have new rotors in the from and brake pads and the rear pads and rotors resurfaced. What a joke! When a Jack ass works there and strongly recommends all this work for my car and said it's unsafe for me to drive without replacing my brakes, then refuses service because he got a little butt-hurt just because I asked to work with a different person! We stopped at Pep Boys on 22671 Lake Forest Drive in Lake Forest. We were shopping for new tires for our Camry. Since it had been raining for a few weeks, I noticed the tires were spinning from the start after I got a green light. While I was researching online I found, that Pep Boys had a deal. When you buy 3 tires the forth one was for a penny. I asked to see all four tires before being installed and they were all made in 2019, also made in U.S.A. ! So we took the deal. Through my research I found out how to tell the age of a new tire. On the inside of the tire look for the DOT with a string of letters and numbers and look at the last four numbers. They show the week and year of manufacture. For example 1019 shows the tenth week of 2019. Manufactures recommend you replace tires after 7 years of their making. To all my Yelp friends please check the date of manufacture. Tires last about 7 years before starting to dry rot and will show small cracks even though they look new and have not been used. Be safe! Good service and price, friendly staff. They are remodeling right now so the place is a bit torn up but don't let that dissuade you. I had my Mercedes C300 in the dealership for some warranty work and was informed my battery had failed testing. They said they would replace it for $515, lol, I declined. Pep Boys Lake Forest had a highly rated Champion battery in stock with a 48-month replacement warranty for $209 that exceeded the specs of my original equipment Mercedes battery. They charged $15 for installation. Went online at early Saturday morning and was able to get a 10am appointment. Showed up and they took me right away. The mechanic covered my seat and floorboard with paper and plastic before driving it into the repair bay. All in all, nice people, great pricing and great service. read more

Edit: I love how the owners response is completely useless and unacceptable. You'd best believe I'm getting in touch with corporate to fix this mess. At this point, I'm just livid. They replaced my alternator in January, and it went out again in June. I went back to them and for some reason they did not have records of the replacement, but they sure as hell had a record of my purchasing the alternator. I had to pay another fee to have my alternator replaced AGAIN and here we are, in November, and my alternator has failed again. I'm not sure what shady shit this place is pulling but maybe they should pay attention to what they're doing because it seems like they're either not giving me the compatible part for my car OR they absolutely did not put a new one in the second time around, as they initially told me they did not have the part (although I had been told on the phone that they had it) but "found it" after I started getting angry at the run around they were giving me. I had to TOW MY CAR to them, and deal with them treating me like an imbecile, in order for my alternator to be replaced for a second time. Now that it has to be replaced a third time, I'm officially livid. I would NOT recommend this branch. The nepotism is real (I was told that I would be speaking to an employees brother, who was also the manager), the disrespect is through the roof, and the incompetence is ridiculous. On a Friday evening, my service light came on because one of my tires was low on pressure. When I checked it out, I noticed a bolt/screw stuck inside my tire. I had to scramble to find a place to fix it before everything closed, especially before a three day weekend. I was so worried the tire was going to go completely flat if I didn't get it fixed right away. This Pep Boys location was the only company to help me out last minute. I'm extremely grateful they were able to get me in and out with a fixed tire shortly before closing time. Blown away! I've always heard of Pep Boys but never gave them a shot till today. I have a 2015 Chevy Tahoe LTZ and the shocks went out about 6 months ago. My regular mechanic quoted me over $2k for the parts labor and alignment. I purchased my own shocks online for $200 and took back to my mechanic and they wouldn't install. I started calling around, went to the cheapest place and their labor was $700 including alignment. My friend recommended Pep Boys. So I show up without an appointment, immediately see how they can help me, charge me only $374 for both installation and alignment! I even received an analysis report via text as well as text updates while waiting. Very happy for this find. This Pep Boys has been reduced in size since the last time I was there. DAY 1-It is just a tire store now. To get a new car battery they have to send out for it and it takes a full day. They called me and I picked the Prius up at 7:15pm after they were closing. The price was $406! As I pulled away I noticed the dashboard was totally dark, like no power was getting to it. I turned around in the parking lot but they had closed and locked up. DAY 2-I came back the next morning but they said the master tech would not be back until tomorrow. The attendant said he would look at it but could not do a diagnostic. Now I'm stuck here praying the problem is a simple unplugged wire. I have no confidence in this place. Their IT isn't there and their computer system is down so customers can't pick up their vehicles and check out. I've elected to take my car some place else but now they are dragging their feet giving me back my car. After 30 minutes I lost my patience and told them I wanted to take my car someplace else and to release my car to me. This kicked them in the butt and the fellow in back got the problem fixed. The "mechanic" said last night the guy forgot to reset the system and he just needed to charge the system at the battery and reset it. Now it works fine, but I won't rely on this Pep Boys anymore for simple things like a new battery. Day 3-I took my car next to Jiffy Lube for an oil change and tire check and the SAME ELECTRICAL PROBLEM popped up, no lights on the dashboard. They said they didn't touch the electrical system so I'm now back at Pep Boys trying to fix the dashboard. The "master tech" still won't be back until tomorrow so I'm hoping the mechanic can fix what went wrong last night! No luck, have to come back tomorrow to catch the master tech. They hope a new combo-switch will do the trick. If that isn't it I'll have to see a dealership mechanic or specialist. DAY 4-Dropped my Prius off today at 11am. The master tech didn't get to it until 5pm. Just spoke to them and they are waiting on a part from the Toyota dealership which is under warranty. It won't be ready today. DAY 5- Called in to check on the status of my car. Was put on hold for 8 minutes and so I hung up. Waited a bit and called again. The manager claimed he's the only one there and they can't find out from the dealership if the part (instrument cluster) is under warranty or not. He will try to call again. Well it's been 1.5 hours and I called the dealership directly and this part is not under warranty. I called Pep Boys back and they concur and I am picking up my car and taking it to a Prius specialist. DON'T GO TO PEP BOYS FOR EVEN A NEW BATTERY! Especially if you have a hybrid. My specialist says they use a high-voltage power booster which is known to short out electronics! They burned out instruments which will cost me $1100 for just the part!! read more

They caused an exhaust leak on my car when they replaced a trans mount. They said nothing about this, they just delivered it to me. After the second time I brought it in (to fix the exhaust leak they created), they said it had only needed tightening. As soon as I started it up afterwards, it was obvious it still had an exhaust leak. Being tired of dealing with it and busy with other things, I did not get it to an exhaust shop for several months. When I did, they showed me how Pep Boys had snapped off one of the studs on the manifold. To get this repaired will cost me $200 to $500 depending on whether the stud can be removed. Really disappointed that Pep Boys was not up front either time that they worked on it. To damage a customers car and not own up to it is really poor customer service. read more
