Two hours later they told me the noise was repaired and a leak was fixed. 1080$ They declined to do the A/C because the dash had to be removed. Called for an appointment to fix a hole in my tire. Guy on the phone said come down it will only take 30-45 minutes to patch the tire. So I drive down on my donut. Go in with only 2 people in front of me. Which took 30 minutes alone. Then when I get to the counter the guy says oh things have changed it will be 4 hours at least. Really for a tire patch? Guy give me dumb look and says " yep, things changed " Thanks for wasting my time and gas to drive to a bunch of rude unprofessional hacks. I came over to pick them up and it turns out that I ordered five tires. so I came over to pick them up and when I was talking to the advisor he seen that I had five tires. I apologize. I told him that I only need it 4 he called his boss and when they got off the phone, he told me that I either buy all five tires and call it a day which I don't need five tires or cancel the order and come back the next day and he'll order the tires himself I don't understand you have the tires in stock so I don't get it to me. Had a 3:00 pm scheduled appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. Service guy checked me in and said I would get in around 3:00 as scheduled. At 3:30 went to service desk to inquire why the vehicle hadn't been started. No one at desk. Waited until 4:00 pm. No communication. Went to service desk to cancel appointment. New service agent at desk. I asked to cancel appointment. He asked if I would like to reschedule which I declined. He said I was all set. I said I need my keys. He said, "you vehicle is already here?" I said that it was here for over an hour we he didn't know. He had to spend a couple of minutes trying to find my keys. After they were done, I went to pay and saw that Pennzoil oil was put into my car and they did not rotate my tire. The person that checked me out could not explain what happened. Even if you buy a Factory part elsewhere and have them install it, and they destroy your car, they take no responsibility, Never ever !! . Probably the worst place to get your car fixed from. They are reliable people and a reliable company, but at what cost. At least double, I can tell you that much. One part they wanted to charge me 60$ for I went down the street to oreilys to find it for 30$. Pretty crazy profit off of a part when they're already charging labor. read more

Came to get my breaks fixed and an oil change...customer service was sub-par...and after everything got done...i drove off and realized they didnt reset my oil gauge...come to find out they didnt even change my oil! So they basically charged me and didnt even do the whole job! I will never be bring my car to this location again, and I will ensure none of my friends, family, or anyone I know ever does. I advise to stay away. I visited the shop for 4 new tires as mine were worn and causing a wobble. I picked up my car, and got a few miles down I4 when one of the tires blew out while on the high way. While having it changed, at my expense with my AAA card, I noticed 2 of the other tires had gone flat as well. I had the car towed back to the shop, and they replaced all 4 with new tires of a different brand. The manager offered me a "Couple of free oil changes for my trouble" unacceptable. I find out the next morning, that the second set of new tires that has been put on has a flat as well. They obviously have no idea how to do a simple tire change, and are putting me and my family at risk. Beware of this shop. They may act nice, but they are not the experienced mechanics you are looking for. read more

Once again, these guys came through! I picked up a giant screw in my tire that was too close to the edge to plug. They discovered that my road hazard coverage hadn't been added when I replaced all my tires here several months ago. They made good on it, added the hazard, and covered the tire. Wow! My suburban was filled to the brim with my huaband, children, luggage and even our Great Dane. All of a sudden our oil pressure light started screaming at us! They had a special to change oil and rotate tires. I was told they could not rotate the tires as too much tread was gone. When I took the car for another oil change to the dealer, he had no trouble rotating the tires and mentioned that the oil plug was put back in crooked destroying the treads. Now, if there was a problem with the plug at Pep Boys I would expect them to identify it unless ... they did it. Given that they were too rushed to rotate the tires, I have to be suspicious. read more

They saved Christmas! We were heading to Orlando from Tampa, and our car broke down on the freeway near Lakeland. I had no idea idea what was around, so I used yelp to find a nearby auto shop. Beware! I will never go back to ANY Pep Boys at ANY location. I took my truck in for service prior to going on a road trip for vacation. I asked Jenny for an oil change, a tune up, and to check my transmission because it felt loose when i put it into gear. I paid over $650.00 and she told me that my transmission was fine. She said what i felt was my motor mounts were bad and needed to be replaced for about $1,000.00. I passed on the motor mounts. While driving to Myrtle Beach pulling a trailer containing two Harleys, we broke down on the side of the road in Charleston South Carolina. I found a Chevy Dealership and was told that my rear end had burned up because the differential didn't have any oil in it when I left Florida. I had to pay $2,500.00 to have my Avalanche repaired, and rent another truck to get to Myrtle Beach. $5.00 worth of fluid cost me over $3,000.00 after I had already paid $650.00 to have my vehicle serviced. They told me that they don't check that unless I specifically ask them to. I'm not a mechanic, I thought by paying for the top of the line Tune up and oil change that all fluids would be checked and topped off. When they pulled the notes from my service order they saw where I asked Jenny to check the transmission. The differential is a part of the transmission. She told me it was fine. I contacted the Corporate office which led to a call from the General Manager. They denied all accountability. They are only interested in what they can sell you. Not checking out your vehicle to make sure it is running properly. I have taken this matter to an attorney to seek legal action. After requesting a copy of my service order, I was told that it had mysteriously disappeared. Now they have destroyed the paperwork in an attempt to cover it up. read more

Went in there Friday because my tire got punctured by road debris and Anthony Aponte helped me. Originally I had planned to buy two new tires but before they started the work decided to go back to the original place where I purchased the tires. They were very understanding and accommodating. They offered and put on the spare tire for me so I would be able to get there safely and without causing damage to the car. Honestly, I feel it is a rare occasion to get any type of quality customer service anymore and I feel they went above and beyond here. I took my van there back in March 2017. I spent over $4000 there to have brakes,rotors, catalytic converters, oil change, etc. Well needless to say they did not do the oil change. My engine blew! So we have it towed to the 98 north store. They tell us they were gonna put brand new engine in. 2 1/2weeks later they finally get the "used"engine in the van. I have had to take my van back 10 times since all this occured. My husband and I have been downgraded,laughed at, ignored, yelled at, etc. The customer service here is not good at all from the mechanics all the way to service manager. Parts have been broke off of my van. Never was I offered any of my money back, it's ridiculous. I then asked corporate if I could take my van to the Southside store because I absolutely refuse to deal with the service manager Gary at the north store. Took my van there, get it home, go to check my fluids and come to find out the thing that holds the hood up is broken. I have never seen customer service at its worst! Staff was great resolving my cars issues. Garry, Store Manager, and Mike, Sales Manager, were particularly helpful and worked with me.

I brought in my Honda Civic Hybrid on 6/25/2016, to have a AC Blower motor installed ( already purchased) Two hours later I was told that their was nothing wrong with the old one. They removed the old one, never checking it, and installed the new one (Voiding the Return policy). I spoke to manager " Jeff " who stated that they did NOT check the old one before installing the new one, but I still owed $100, for the installation, ( even Auto Zone does free diagnostics). I took my vehicle to a shop in Winter Haven to have the old one put back on, the mechanic stated that the Pep Boys Mechanic ( Andy) striped out two of the three screws, after he was able to get the screws out, the entire swap out took 15mins. I'm out $100 for a "Installation" fee, and $80 for a brand new Blower Motor, that is now on Ebay. The mechanic in Winter Haven felt so bad for me being ripped off, he charged me NOTHING. UPDATE 7/01/2016, I received a telephone call from a person calling himself "Jerry", who stated he was from corporate, strangest thing, my caller ID showed he was calling from the Pep Boys where I made the complaint, very sketchy, I was given the same song and dance. NEVER,EVER take your vehicle to this place if it involves more than a simple oil change, or they will lie,add on charges, and milk you for every fabricated vehicle problem they can get out of you. If there was a ZERO rating they would get, I would give it. Issue NEVER resolved.!!!!!! read more

I visited this Pep Boys location to have my daughters car battery tested on a Thursday afternoon. The store wasn't very busy but seemed over staffed inside and under staffed in the shop. The employees are very friendly but apparently not very competent. After waiting an hour the employee came out and told me the battery tested "charge and retest" and that they tested it again and it tested ok. She then asked if I'd like them to test the alternator. Of course I agreed since it's my 20 year old daughter's car and I don't want her to be stranded somewhere. Thirty more minutes pass, I'm called to the front by a different employee and told that the battery was bad in retest but they don't have one to replace it. When I told the clerk what I was told earlier she commented "I don't know what was said but the battery is bad and we don't have one." They didn't offer to order one nor make any suggestions. It was just a complete waste of my time. This is my first visit here and will likely be my last. I've had my battery tested and replaced at a local auto parts store in less time than this! I went across the street to Sears and had the battery changed and was on my way in 20 minutes. Apparently that's what I should've done in the first place. read more
