New to town and I have been calling all over looking for 4 tires for my car. Apparently the tire size that I needed wasn't common & every place had to preorder them. I called Pep Boys as my last call and spoke with Roger. He was nice enough to check the new inventory that they had just received and was able to find the 4 tires that I needed. I explained to him my tires were in their last leg after a cross country drive and needed them changed ASAP. He told me they were booked until Friday but to come in and he would squeeze me in if I'm patient. I thanked him and got there as fast as I could. When I got there everyone was very friendly and helpful and explained everything to me regarding the tires and my car. Yet again Pep Boys PV was there for me. My battery died at the Costco gas station around 6:30 tonight and a wonderful young man jumped my car. After finding out Costco does not install batteries after I was told they do. I called pep boys and they stayed open to get me a new battery. Thank you again you all are life savers. Needed a headlight replaced at last minute before a road trip. Went online to see who could fix on a Sunday. Pep Boys website stated this location is open on Sundays and I could book an appointment on line. Booked on Saturday evening for next day 11 am Sunday. Pulled up Sunday for the appointment and the place is locked and says closed on the sign. This is AFTER I got a confirmation email AND a confirmation text for Sunday. WTF? Tried calling their number and just rang and rang with no answer. Luckily went down the road to Firestone who WERE actually open and very quick and accommodating. read more

They are very busy so expect to wait , BUT I went for a new set of tires and Victor Torres (who I spoke to over the phone prior to arriving) gave me a great price and some Coopers and warranty. I had questions when I got to Pep Boys about this brand of tire as they were different than my other tires and I am a creature of habit and I was very impressed how Victor went to the back, brought out my old tire and gave me so much information pertaining to my old brand vs. new brand. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. The last time I was there they said tires don't need rotating.....ok, but I always rotate them at my oil changes but I went along with it that time. This time I was told , yes the tires have been rotated......Not true, I know this because I have air pressure sensors on the tires and when I went in my front right had 31 psi. When I left and checked the sensors my front right....yes still had 31 psi. I also just went through the car wash right before I took the car in. The wash never gets the wheels clean and when I get home I finish cleaning them. Well any car With disc brakes almost assuredly gets the front wheels dirtier than the back....my front wheels were still dirtier than the back and if the tires had been rotated that wouldn't have been the case. read more

When you take your vehicle in for a simple oil change and tire rotation you expect to get just that. My vehicle was only back there very shortly. Not enough time to do both. I asked if the rotation was done and they said yes. I had a mark on one of my tires (not on purpose but will do that next time to make sure) and it was in the same spot. I don't even want to take it back in. If they lie to about this I'm not trusting them with my vehicle again. read more

Brought my truck there in the afternoon for AC service. Told to bring it back first thing the next morning, which I did. (Had to bring a driver for a ride home). They called an hour later and said they don't have the right type of machine/freon/whatever. (Had to get another ride back to PV Pep Boys). Made three trips (or five trips, however you look at it) over two days for no reason. They should've told me when I first stopped in that they couldn't do the job. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I own 2 local businesses and if I operated this way, I'd be sued and out of business. I brought my truck in with 2 issues: break peddle isn't fully stopping (I believed it to be an air bubble in the line. 2:my brakes were randomly locking up while DRIVING and parked as well. I had rescheduled my appt (with PLENTY of notice), for today at 9am. I arrived at 8:45-The manager, Arthur, said very few words to me when I'm explaining the issues. His demeanor was of annoyance. Jerrod, a mechanic, comes out to the front desk and asked Arthur what "the red truck was in for", Arthur advised, to which jerrod complains (infront of me) about my rescheduling my appt, that "kept calling"....false. Arthur tries to shut him up and points to me advising "she's right here, she can hear you". Jerrod proceeds to pull out an unlit cigarette-leaning on the desk, puts it in his mouth, and starts drinking an energy drink at the same time....proudly on display at the counter.....disgusting. Almost 2 hours later and several people after me having come and gone, I was told they bled the breaks for the peddle issue. And that the brakes locked up on them when they were moving it (admitting the issue is evident) and told me to "just drive it and see what happens". I relayed to Arthur about the entire unprofessional and less than pleasant experience. I was charged $78 and sent out the door..... ONLY TO PULL OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AND MY BRAKES LOCK UP, LEAVING ME STRANDED HALF A MILE FROM PEP BOYS FOR THE LAST 2 HOURS. My car seats are clearly in the backseat (older truck, no headrests, clear view into the backseat).......the complete disregard for MY safety, let alone my children..... So whether they're untrained, lazy, careless, or all of the above, is above me. I'm awaiting a call from the regional manager. My husband is on the way home to go back, and seek a refund to ACTUALLY get the truck fixed at Brake Masters. Will update on this refund issue with Arthur. P.s, called pep boys, stranded on the side of the ride, jerrod answers, and hung up on me. What's really sad-our local law enforcement is very frequent customers. read more

Today I went into Pep Boys for 3 o'clock appointment hoping to get my back driver side tire patched after they were able to get my tire off and look at it it turned out that it couldn't be repaired and then gave me a quote for a New tire at 100+ dollars I politely told the representative that I do not have the funds to replace the tire at this time I would have to go somewhere else to get a replacement and the gentleman did not seem happy with that situation as they put my tire on he told me to come to the back because they filled it back up with air and said that wherever I'm going I need to get there quickly and the mechanic that was putting my tire on we're still taking the bolts and he didn't seem too happy with the fact that I do not purchase the services and was kind of being a little rude as I'm standing there in the mechanics bay he continues to aggressively tighten my bolts as I was standing there I watched him literally snap off one of my bolts in front of me with the manager standing right behind me and started to curse then all he did was hand me the bolt and said I have to go get this fixed and I told him that I just watched you break it by over tightening the bolts why should I have to pay to have something that you broke on my vehicle this is going to cost me a large amount considering my vehicle is A Lexus. Then he tries to blame it on me for taking it to the last mechanic that worked on it and said it was his fault and that and that what caused it was the last person who put it on after talking to my friend that's a mechanic for Toyota he explained to me that if that was a case of the bolt would have fallen off when he took the tire off then he tried to tell me that he would not be responsible for it after after that I try to explain to him that that you need to fix it he can begin to curse at me yell at and say all he was trying to do was help me but I have a hard time seeing how this was helping me when all he did was takeoff my tire tell me he couldn't fix it and put it back on. I continue to ask him to please don't speak to me in the manner that he was. After I finally got him to agree to fix the issue the manager was still standing there and all he told me was to come back on Monday and get the specs done then. Then I continue to ask if I can get some type of proof or paperwork saying this incident happened and they would not provide me with any I went back into the office to get the paperwork done right away because I need this to be fixedin the office I asked if I could file a formal complaint against the mechanic that treated me so poorly and he said that he refused to file one because he said that they were just trying to help me and I was confused because all they did was take my tire Off and put it back on again and broke my vehicle and after giving them the information to order the part to fix my vehicle they still refuse to offer me any type of paperwork or issued accidental report or damage report of any kind proving what the mechanic has done to my vehicle I promptly called Pep Boys customer service and and filed a formal report against the mechanic and the service manager there at the time I highly recommend that you do not do business here because if you agree with them and let them walk all over you they are just going to get upset and destroy your car. read more

They wanted to charge me $848.00 for a new rack and pinion, and $584.70 for R and L Complete Strut Assemblies for my 2006 Nissan Murano. This did not include the labor. I turned them down and went home and found out I could buy the Rack and Pinion for $264.20 and the R and L Complete Struts for $168.39. That's a difference of $1,000.11. Wow. I can understand them charging more for parts, but $1,000.00 more for 3 parts!!! Highway robery. Needless to say I will find another shop. They also broke my rear bumper and denied it! read more

I made appointment with Pep Boys via online for a routine oil change. Walked into Pep boys today and Ray at the counter informed me that my particular vehicle ( 2011 Ford Edge) was going to need a Synthetic oil and the oil change i scheduled would cost 54$.. Now i know I'm a women.... but I am a lot of things and dumb and naive is NOT one of them... he saw a young woman walk in with her 2 small children and he saw money signs.. This man thought he was going to charge me 54$ for a simple oil change. Now let me tell you i told him that i have has this vehicle for years and I KNOW for a fact it takes a synthetic BLEND and that it is not 54$ for an oil change for my car!! I have had my oil changed for the last 25 years that i have been driving.. NEVER IN MY FREAKING LIFE has it ever cost me 54$ NOR will it ever!! i explained to Ray that i KNOW my vehicle takes a blend and he told me very rude "Sorry! Cant help ya!" Took my woman self and her 2 small children down the road and had my oil changes for 24 dollars with the Synthetic Blend!!
