I am grateful for Maurice and Shorn!!! They are the only reason I am giving this place 3 stars. I am pregnant and went into the store with my car as soon as it opened. We had a really hard time locating a fuse for my 1998 Nissan Maxima. The agent from the morning brushed us off and said they don't have the part but they are trying. So I took it upon myself to call around and try to locate the fuse. Long story short, I had to leave the car to go to a doctors appointment, when it was over i called to see if anything was accomplished and the afternoon agent said he knew nothing about my car and they stopped looking for the fuse anyway. I was shocked. I went all the way to Rockaway Blvd, got the fuse and brought it back. Now it was almost 5PM. I gave the fuse to Maurice who said no problem. I went to get something to eat and on my way out the service agent stopped us and tried to tell us that we need to hold your car overnight because when he leaves at 5PM no one else will work on our car. I went back inside, Shorn and Maurice spoke to the service agent and then apologized for him and explained everything to us in depth about our car, showed us some future work that will need to be done at some point, gave us great advice and insured that we will get the car back in 1 hour. which we did. Went there for my tires and one of my tires bust in less then 1 month so i went to pep boys and wanted to find out if i have any warranty and spoke with a worker there name jadon, jadon was very helpful and very nice no hassell at all takes his job serious and very professional i recommend him to anyone that goes there, hes a problem solver very nice guy and lots of help. Honestly very disappointed with their customer service and the work that was done to my car. Yesterday my boyfriend went in because one tire was flat and the man helping him also told him the other tire was about to pop so he changed the two back tires and also replaced the rim on the right one because the original one bent because of the flat tire. So he told him that the replacement rim would fit. Today as we are driving around we hear the back tires making a squeaky sound, like if it were loose and it just kept getting progressively worse. We showed up around 5:30 pm and we do realize they close at 6 but we shouldn't have had to come back to begin with .. when we asked to get it checks again the same guy that put it on said it was the wrong sized rim .... I'm confused on how yesterday he said it would fit and now today he says it was the wrong size? Then they proceed to say that they can not help us right now because it's too late and they are closing soon.. they were rude about the whole thing and we basically have to come back tomorrow after work. I don't understand why do we have to deal with THEIR mistake and take time out of OUR busy day to do fix this issue that should've never been an issue to begin with. I went to this pep boys on Friday cause my jeep seem to be over heating and I needed to purchase antifreeze Dominic helped me to find the right one for my jeep I had asked if he could ask someone to help me and not one mechanic helped me all claim to be busy or on break 5 to be exact where sitting talking, but Dominic came out to help me. Avoid this place! I went in to have them take a look at the brakes--was told they were totally gone in the front, that I needed new front tires, a whole schpiel. Not wanting to endanger my family, I settled on brakes. When I came back, another guy was getting the same schpiel word for word from the same guy. Mechanic changed engine oil and forget put cap back. Next day oil was spill over all engine.I took tall truck and deliver car to their shop (money was returned), What they did just added oil, refuse change oil and didn't even clean the engine. Now I have smell in car need to spend money to clean engine because I have baby and all thet toxic vacor going inside. And have to change oil again don't now if there some dirt inside or not. Stay away !! The are dangerous and unlawful. The first time I went was 17 yrs ago to get tires for a 92 olds delta 88 they took over 2 hours to put the new tires on , Upon driving away at closing time 9 pm I heard a grinding sound I got out and to my disbelief they had installed truck tires on a car They had to have put them on deflated I turned the car around and by the time i returned to the store the lights were off and the place was closed . I parked my car on a side street. The next day after work I took the car around the corner back to the store after 20 minutes I was able to speak to a person who was somewhat in charge He asked where the car was and came into the parking lot and took a look and said oh i see what your talking about wow those are definitely too big for that car . I said look just put my old tires on again and let me have my money back he said oh no cannot do that those tires are used now I was in shock I said I drove 50 feet last night and stopped and parked the car I took 2 trains and a bus to my job in Staten island and now your telling me i am stuck with these incorrect dangerous tires I did not order ? He said the tires from my car they took off were gone but he could put the right tires on this time so once again I was forced to wait almost 2 hours again and I got the sale tires I paid for, never once did they apologize or offer any sort of compensation for my inconvenience . After reading the reviews on here I was so scared to even bother going to this pep boys. One day I had no choice. I needed a new HID bulb for my escalade. I couldn't get an appointment at City Cadillac where I always go. I gave pep boys a shot. Best thing I ever did, not only did I save money but I also saved a trip to LIC. About a year and a half later my other HID bulb went out. I went back to pep boys and to my surprise without even looking up my info on the computer the guy there his is Everest I think remembered me and was able to assist me right away. I didn't have to wait long it was installed fairly quickly. It was pretty cool that he remembered, very often at places where people see so many customers day after day it just becomes routine. I've been going to pep boys ever since. For other issues the wait is long, as it is at City Cadillac, but if you come early in the morning depending on your issues you should be in and out. read more

This place is the absolute worst!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS REPAIR SHOP EVEN IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDED ON IT!!!!! Took my ford explorer their 4 days ago and it's still not fixed. Everyone seems incompetent, as if they just graduated from mechanics school! I was told that I needed a shaft seal repaired, and then I was told on another day that I have to take it to a transmission repair shop to fix the problem. WHY TELL ME THAT THEY CAN FIX IT IN THE FIRST PLACE THEN SEND ME SOMEWHERE ELSE??? And btw, be careful with the 'fake' repair jobs that they come up with, like fixing your sway bars. I had mine fixed last year at this location and was told I needed them fixed again. What they didn't know was that I purposely checked the sway bars before I brought my truck in and they were fine, much to their embarrassment!.....And one more thing, all they want to do is sell you tires. ME: "I need an oil change"; Pep boys on Metropolitan: "ok, but your tires are more important" SMDH! Ive also noticed a change in staff over the last few years. Forever and ever thankful for this Pep Boys and Jadon Matthew, along with the other workers that helped me out! I'm from out of state and had never been in this area before so you can imagine my distress when I got a flat tire in unfamiliar territory. It was 8:50pm when my car arrived at their location (keep in mind they close at 9:00pm). Jadon was so helpful and was kind enough to take me in, check my flat and install a new tire since the flat on my car was damaged and could not be repaired. He did not complain or give me an attitude at any point during our interaction. Instead, he was beyond helpful! He showed me what was wrong with my tire and explained everything to me. The service was also fast so I didn't have to wait long. I'm sooo blessed to have ended up at this Pep Boys with such kind workers that were able to help me with my flat tire so late in the day! Thanks to them I was able to get home safely and now I have a new tire that has been working perfectly! I highly recommend this Pep Boys! They're awesome! read more

In August 2015 I bought four "new" Cooper Tires from Pep Boys on Metropolitan Avenue in Queens. When they installed the tires they broke my tire pressure monitoring system. They claimed that "this happens sometimes". Which is not the case. I then had to take my car to a dealership in order to fix it because they did not know how to install it properly. This was an additional cost that I had to pay for. Ever since the "new" tires were installed there has been a shake in the steering wheel. Since I do not drive very often I had not had the chance to take it to a mechanic for a balance. I took the car on Monday to get the wheels balanced and the mechanic informed me that one of the "new" tires was actually from 2008. This was the tire that had the broken monitoring system. In addition to that, two of the tires requested too much weight in order for them to balance. How is it possible to purchase 4 new tires and receive one that was from 2008? read more

so i was reading the comments and i was like ok lets not judge by the bad comments let me call them. I called and i guy that answered the phone ask me what type of car i had which i told him and t=if i was there before and i said no its my 1th time and that i would like to make an app to come in so they can fix my power button on my window. The guy said no need to make an app just bring the car in. So i took my car in and the guy that "checked me in to the system" was clueless i swear he went back and forth to check with another guy how to check me in and how to contact the warranty. OK... so an hour passed and i see my car is still parked outside i went and i asked the same guy that checked me in whats going on, he said oh theres only one guy that knows how to do it and once he is done ( one more to wait) he will fix my car.. i said ok i thins point i am gone wait because I'm not close to home where i can come back. another hour pass so now I'm here almost 3 hours the guy that checked me in calls me and says ok so he looked at your car and he can do it but you need to go to Chrysler shop and buy the part!!!! i swear i almost lost it! whats the point of coming here? i can take to the Chrysler from the beginning. So after 3 hr of wait no one told me it will take that long and at the end he can do it i have to go buy the part and come back?! HELL NO! i should've listen to the bad comments people put up. So please do your self a favor and avoid this place! it sucks! there a lot of people in this shop that just walk around and not actually work, very clueless and not professional at all!
