Poor service and rude customer service. I went in for a full inspection last Sunday. Turns out I had to get my brakes replaced, which fine it's work that needs to be done. Trish, who I guess is a manager somehow, was a little blunt but fine on that day. I leave the shop feeling like my car was acting funny still but I dismiss it as potentially being the new parts. Fast forward to a few days ago, I noticed every time I turn now there's a noise on my front right tire. I plan to go back to pep boys on the following Sunday exactly a week after since I work two jobs and didn't have the time to go back earlier. I inspect my car this morning and find out 5 of my lug nuts were never installed on my front wheel. I immediately contact their customer support who apologize and offer to cover the installation and towing fee for free. I'm already annoyed since this could have literally killed me. I go to the shop and ask for a report on what they did but Trish, now being extremely rude, outright says "you drive your car x amount of miles, we could dispute that so we just did the lug nuts as a courtesy." Which is extremely unprofessional considering I still paid full price for service and still got screwed over a week later. Trish seriously needs more training as she just seems extremely agitated both times I've seen her and was extremely defensive when asked about how her team could have possibly forgotten to install or at the very least tighten the lug nuts correctly. 100% do not recommend, and not that it matters but mI definitely wont be coming back here or to any pep boys read more

Congratulations to Pep Boys for employing either the world's most confident liar or a "technician" who couldn't identify a run-flat tire if it rolled over his foot and introduced itself. Here's the story: my girlfriend comes in with a flat that any half-conscious human could have patched. Instead, Pep Boys' resident tire scholar declares it a run-flat (it wasn't), says run-flats can't be patched (also not how any of this works), and sells her a brand new tire. How generous. Fast forward to today. Another flat, same tire. We take it to American Tire, who informs us the ONLY run-flat on the car is, plot twist, the exact tire Pep Boys swapped in. The one they sold her. So either their guy was so bad at his job he diagnosed a regular tire as a run-flat and then installed an actual run-flat by accident, or he knew exactly what he was doing and saw a woman walk in alone and smelled commission. Either way, the options are scam or stupidity, and honestly neither one is a great pitch for a tire shop. Save your money, save your time, and go literally anywhere else. American Tire didn't try to sell us a submarine. Low bar, but Pep Boys limboed right under it. read more

What a bunch of crooks. Will fix the wrong thing and won't offer refund. Biggest mistake I've made all year was coming here

Went in to get break pads replaced due to squeal from worn pads. Waited one hour for an inspection, understandable because there were a lot of customers. Get informed they can change the brakes, sounds good! Wait 2 hours. Get informed there is a seized caliper and the other is leaking, both need to be replaced. Bill increases by 580$ automatically. I ask to see the issue replicated, questioning why they did not find this on the initial inspection. Manager refuses to show me the issue replicated. I ask for it to be put back together so I can take it somewhere else. He tells me he CANNOT LET ME TAKE IT BACK WITHOUT IT BEING TOWED AWAY. There is nothing online setting a precedence for this. All of this was done near close as well, most likely to pressure us to leave it overnight for additional fees (they said they couldn't get it done today). They don't get the car assembled until 10m before close, mind you we have been here for almost 8 hours at this point. Try the brakes in the lot, they work fine. No leakage noted. Never go to this Pep boys, cannot recommend less. Also the lady at the front desk was very rude, but that kind of pales in comparison to everything else. read more

Very disappointed with my recent experience at Pep Boys. 1. First off, I was told that bringing the car in for an oil change would take about two hours. It took about four. 2. They had told me that my car needed an electrical diagnostic, and I told them to do it. They didn't until after I told them a third time, post oil change. There was no "I'm sorry." There was no "Here, let me give you a courtesy discount." It was what it was and I was told to just deal with it. 3. After the oil change, I was asked about the fluids. They sent me a list of what was looked at. Everything was check-marked without any notes. I asked them about the vehicle fluids and confirmed that everything was topped off, the responded with, "No, we don't talk about fluids, but just let you know if you are low on any of them." What kind of oil change place doesn't top off fluids? Any place for an oil change has the fluids topped off. Also, if they blet you know if you need to top of fluids on your own... Why would they check mark the fluids section, without noting which fluids were low? It just felt like it was lazy service, something that they do in a mediocre manner. The nicest thing I can say is that the oil was changed and when they finally ran the electrical diagnostic and actually identified the problem is was having with the electrical of my cardone right, you have to give them credit for that. That's why they got the two-star, not one. I'm very disappointed in the erroneous communication for how long it was going to take. The lack of communication of how there were no fluid top-offs. The lazy write-up of the service report, the service check. I was just very disappointed with my service with Pep Boys this time around. I denied the car services after getting my car checked out and as I was leaving, Jonathan made a passive aggressive/sarcastic comment like "I hope nothing else breaks." Ok... I will go somewhere else. Not welcoming and definitely did try to suggest other up-charges when I was clearly not interested. Thank you Ramon for inspecting my car but, this location needs friendlier staff especially ones at the front desk who deal with calls and customer interactions. I've been getting my oil changes here for many years but after the recent price increases I'm going to go elsewhere. It used to be $80 and they would have coupons that would bring it down to $60 but they have since raised it to $108 and they don't offer coupons unless you get new tires with the oil change. They also didn't do the tire rotation that I requested online when I made the appointment and I also told them to do it when I dropped off the car. They also didn't do the complimentary wheel alignment. read more

On the last three occasions they literally tried to charge me triple for repairs that any other place would charge me. They also told me that some repairs were needed to my suspension that were simply not true. I have read other reviews here and it seems I am not alone in saying they price gouge. I came here to have a tire repaired. Trish inspected the tire, created a ticket, and asked me to wait. I was prepared to wait a while and I did, almost 3 hours. The ticket for my vehicle got lost at one point, extending the wait. When Jonathan in the shop finally saw my car, he said he couldn't repair the tire. He said that a company policy prohibits him from repairing a tire more than 5 years old. My tire is 7 years old. He admitted that the policy was the only thing stopping him from repairing the tire. It was hard not to get upset. Trish had previously inspected my tire to make sure the shop could fix it. Why would you not also check the age of the tire if the policy is so strict? It's right there on the tire! When I pointed out that they had made me wait for hours for a job they couldn't even do, Trish said they had nothing to apologize for and even tried to tell me that I had not, in fact, been waiting for hours. My encounter with pepboys. Which they are not at fault alone. My car was towed to pepboys through carshield ok. My car was towed on the 30th of March so carshield made the arrangements. I didn't want to call pepboys early because I didn't want a rush job. The 3rd week I called and they said my wasn't ready ok so I decided to wait until the 1st to go check on my car how about I went to pepboys these people had no record of my car being there y'all hear me no record my car had been there a month just sitting were they do that at. I am sure when the tow truck driver brought it there some one had to show him were to put the car and sign for it but they had no record until I showed up. Good I showed up. So I went a whole month without my car because someone wasn't doing their job. Trust me when I say this I don't want anyone to lose their job something needs to be done. And that's not all people someone send me a text message saying that my car will be ready at 7 ok. I got a call from someone and they told me that they couldn't do the diagnostic test on my car because I needed a another battery. So how was my car going to be ready at 7 when it was about 5 when I got the text could someone please answer that for me. People have different experiences with these companies but me I am through I had to drive someone else's car because someone didn't do there job. She not only was very professional and gave me all the necessary options on buying two EV tires for my Tesla Y model after a big screw near the sidewall of my rear tire made it unsafe to fix/repair. It was a Sunday and she ordered the tires and said they would be in the next day and i received a call the next day (Monday) saying the tires were in. Needed a new headlight and was quoted $60 including labor on the phone. I get there and Daniel tells me I'm looking at $100 just for labor, and it would have taken and hour and a half. Also they "dont do same day appointments". The second guy I called for a quote was located behind the Sinclair gas station and he did it for $44 on the spot no wait, no bs. He confirmed my suspicion that I was being scammed when I told him they wanted $141 for one new headlight replacement. I find it ironic because they have their company values on the wall on a plaque and it read something along the lines of "if you feel like we are trying sell you something instead of fixing your problem, you are free to take your business elsewhere"' which Is exactly what I did and I saved myself $100. To begin with, I booked an appointment through CarAdvise to get my FRONT break pads replaced. I arrived at 3:00 PM, on time, and after a few minutes pass, they take my car for a complementary break inspection (AWESOME!!!) It's 3:57 PM, I finally get a text from CarAdvise to approve the work needed. As it turns out, the shop quoted me for all four break pads and rotors. At this point, I'm annoyed because the whole purpose of doing these things through the app is to communicate what I need and hopefully save time. So far, that's not the case. It's now 4:47 PM, and I finally get the quote for only the FRONT break pads and rotors. It is 5:20 PM, I'm sitting in the waiting area. I get up to see where my car is; it is still just sitting there. No one is working on on my car. In addition, I feel the attitude from the people who work here. I don't know if it's because I'm using CarAdvise, but it seems to be an inconvenience to them, but why would that matter? If the company you work for decides to go into a deal with other service providers, what's it to you? I'm still paying and doing the other things the "regular" customer does. Anyways, I'm already hating the whole experience. Thinking; I should have gone to the Jiffy Lube by my house. They quoted me $460 for the FRONT & REAR break pads/rotors. I'm paying $357 for the ONLY the front break pads & rotors. Not really SAVING any money here. In conclusion, I will not be using Pep Boys or CarAdvsie. It's time consuming and too expensive. You really don't end up saving much of anything. I would advise to look for other opportunities. It's 5:45 PM, and I'm still waiting for my car. At Jiffy Lube, I would have been in and out. Stay away from this "shop" as far as possible. They gave me a quote for the brake service for around $900 ($860 or so with coupon discount) What I didn't expect is them actually NOT doing part of the work that's been paid up front: they never did the "on-car rotor resurfacing" and just told me "yep, it's done". I mean, I understand I'm not supposed to be a car expert, but I know where the rotors are, how do they look and what's the difference between weared and resurfaced one, ok? As a result the brakes started to squeak horribly literally two days after. When we complained, they just said "you need to drive 200-300 miles for them to fit". Yeah, right, after driving 200 miles on squeaking BMW like idiots, we decided to get back to them with the question "what's going on?" After some small talk with representative (he was obviously trying to save on words), he just said "leave the car, we have to redo the job". No explanations on what's happened, no "sorry", literally nothing. "The job" took another 2 days, because they were out of parts the next morning. That time they resurfaced the front rotors, but not the rear ones (once again, both procedures were paid up front). As soon as I walked in I witnessed an employee and customer arguing. Employee had no professionalism and let his emotions get the best of him. I had an appointment for a wheel alignment. I have the free lifetime warranty and the guy refused to comply with it insisting he needed a transaction number from when we first signed up years ago. I've had multiple wheel alignments and never been asked that. Then for some reason he cant find my vin in his system when I've brought my car multiple times. I showed him the receipt from the last free wheel alignment I got and he still refused. These people are not friendly nor care about their customer service. Went to another pepboys where they do know how to treat customers well and not look for ways to take your money. They kept me waiting for 2-1/2 hours and then told me they couldn't patch the nail hole because the tire is a run-flat, but they were searching for a replacement tire. I left and took my car to Stokes in SM on eleventh and SM Blvd and they immediately took it in and are patching it now - no BS about run flat! This was my 2nd bad experience with Pep Boys.
