I needed my headlight replaced, my appointment I would need to wait an hour and a half. This is unacceptable but Nick at the counter was very calm, cooperative professional. I did have the manager Ozzie come in and started talking with a loud tone. I let him know that I was dealing with Nick and he didn't need to be so loud. Let me preface this by stating the general manager is very understanding and accommodating toward the issue I'm about to discuss. I dropped off my truck to get four new tires put on and an alignment. When truck was returned, all four of my gloss black rims were completely scratched beyond repair. General manager confirmed that this had happened and was an accident/mistake. They are offering to have rims painted and or replaced (whichever is cheapest). Whether this happens or not is another matter. The alignment was horrible and way off from when brought in. Had to take back to get it fix and it was still off requiring me to go to dealer to get it done correctly. Again, their team/staff were tremendously understanding. Though I would not recommend this store further a return visit by myself. Very disappointed and dissatisfied with the service. I went in for an alignment after doing some suspension work. After the "alignment" was completed, truck pulled to the right. After giving them multiple chances to perform a proper alignment - I went to a Town Fair Tires and my truck is driving straight again. I requested a refund at the store - the store manager said I'd be issued a refund check from corporate within 3 weeks. It's been almost half a year now. Due to Pep boys, I'll never by Cooper tires ever again! I used to get them for all may vehicles and had no issues and liked them but a horrible experience with Pep Boys has changed that forever. A log of my experience: 29-Jun 4X Cooper U91810L3224 TIRES INSTALLED ON CAR On Drive home thumping noise coming from rt front tire 35-40+ mph 2-Jul Back to PB. wheels got rebalanced Still thumping in front rt on drive home. 8-Jul Took car to quality auto in somerset to eval they determined the issue is definitely tire. Tires rotated front back noise reduced 10-Jul Called PB told them issue. Possible tire out of round issue 11-Jul PB checked car, told issue was not enough (loud) to warrant a warranty claim. Nothing can be done 12-Jul Next morning, i was trying to do a brake job on 4 wheels. Unable remove the front right wheel. One of the wheel nuts had been cross threaded @ PB. I attempted to loosen nut, used penetrating fluid, but bolt eventually snapped. Took photos Called PB they had me come in for 4pm to repair @ PB Talked to Nick. Told him what happened & discussed possibility it may be a spindle replacement cause Honda wheel hub doesn't allow for insert of new bolt. Nick confirmed, labor time 2.5 hrs to fix & we scheduled for appt 7/14 morning to allow repair time. Gave him the broken bolt in wheel lug nut 14-Jul Talked to the Store mgr Trevor. He told me that he did the work himself & insist he didn't over torque/cross thread the bolt & I probably have to live with it. I totally disagreed & told him it was done by him(PB) no one else had touched the car since last night & they are responsible. I'm an experienced eng tech for 30+ years @ a Naval contractor I know how to put on & remove hardware. He responded by telling me I can file a complaint but it PB won't pay for repairs because it would be over $800. I got paperwork filed & was supposed to hear something in the next 24 hours 48 hours no call. I called PB customer service reported the whole issue. I even suggested just to pay for the part $250 vs $800 with labor & I'll take care of labor because I don't trust anyone at PB to fix my car. I got a case# (229936). Told I will receive a call in next 48 hours 16-Jul Took car to Rolands tire to check tires with Road force balance 19-Jul Car checked tires didn't need the road force balance bc the wheel balancing done by PB was done incorrectly. "All tires had counter-balance to them, chased weights." is the comment on my receipt. I had to pay $100 for the new wheel balance. TIRE NOISE IS GONE!! I have receipt. No call back again after 48 hours, Called pb customer service. Told store mgr denies cross-threading or over torquing. Told they would elevate to next level. Should get call immediately or next 48 hrs. 23-Jul Call from Ty Freeman of PB Claim professional had to get estimates. Received email claim# 25019073821 estimates @ Quality auto & Herb Chambers. Sent to Ty Freeman, claim rejected. They're not legally responsible. Don't trust them to even water a cactus!! Total HACKS!!! read more

I wish I could give them zero stars. I took my car in for new tires and it has had an ongoing clutch issue. I did not bring the car in for them to solve the clutch issue, but they were confident that they could fix it. Two jobs later they have not fixed the clutch issue and I pick my car up and the headlights don't work. When I dropped my car off, it had two working headlights. A very nice man at the front told me I could get a free electrical evaluation to figure out what the issue was. However, the manager just called me back to let me know that they would not be doing any such thing. Reiterating that they did tires and clutch work, and my headlights would not have been affected. This makes no sense because I did have two working headlights when I brought the car to them and now I have zero. I also did not want them to work on the clutch, but they told me they were confident that they knew what the issue was and it would solve it. Almost an extra thousand dollars later my car still has the same issue. I think that this place is great for tires, but they will fuck you over on everything else. read more

Called to ask if they're honoring the tax free weekend b/c we needed tires. The first person my husband spoke to didn't seem to understand what my husband was saying. His responses didn't make sense. My husband asked again and the response was we haven't gotten an update about that. My husband said it's this weekend, you haven't gotten an update? Then based on what their website said, they only had 3 tires available. So my husband asked this person to check on the qty, he said they only had 3, but could get another one w/i 2-3 days. I said I don't think this person knows what they're doing. Let's call another store. My husband called Raynham and was told they are participating in the tax free weekend. My husband calls Seekonk back and gets another person. My husband asks the question. He said I just spoke to Raynham and the said you are. At first, he didn't sound like he knew, but then said yes. When my husband asked him to check the qty for the tires we needed, he said he didn't have any. So I chimed in and said you're website says you have 3 and the other person before you said the same. He said he didn't have them and he can only have 3 delivered to the store. He asked where do you live and my husband answered Warwick, the salesperson said why don't you go to the W. Wrwk store. My husband said then I won't get the tax free sale, that's the whole point of why I'm asking you about all of this. The person says they have them in Raynham why don't you go there, it's not that bad of a ride. I wanted to say then why don't you go pick them up for us? He then said they can't do a store to store transfer b/c of the tax free event. No wonder why brick and mortar stores are going out of business. When they pulled it out of the service bay; I checked my oil level an it wasn't even at the first mark on my oil dip stick it was a full quart an 1/2 low. Stopped in to Pep Boys to purchase a new battery for my 2009 Toyota Corolla. Was greeted by a representative named Alex with a good morning and a smile. Explained the situation that my car battery seemed to be dying because I had to get it jumped this morning. He said they would run a free test on it but I decided to just purchase a new one considering my car is 8 years old. He gave me 2 options for a new battery and I chose one for $125. Upon checkout he asked if I would like to sign up for the rewards program they offer which ended up saving me $20 on the spot. I don't even know where to begin. The customer service experience was so bad, it actually became laughable at one point. I called ahead on a Saturday morning to see if they had time to do a quick tire repair. They said they had some bays open and to come on in. When I arrived, there were two people behind the desk. One completely ignored me, engrossed in a (non-work related) conversation with another customer; the other one didn't make eye contact but mumbled he'd be with me in a couple of minutes. My husband and I sat there for about 15 minutes, exchanging glances while the first employee continued his conversation. Finally I was seen, car was dropped off, and away we went. They called me about an hour later, saying my car was ready for pick up. When we returned, that's where the real fun began! There were two gentlemen in line in front of me. The first one goes to check out, told that it's going to be over $500, to which he replies, "Um, for an oil change and two headlights?" The employee says, "No, you got your brakes done, too." Gentleman #1: "Um, no I didn't." Employee: "I've gotta get my manager." Employee begins helping the next customer get checked out, only to find that he can't figure out how to get the system to accept Gentleman #2's coupon. Employee: "I've gotta get my manager." Oh boy, now it's my turn. Employee: "What's your last name?" I say, "Well to be honest, you never asked for it before, and I recently changed my name, so it's either under (insert maiden name) or (insert married name)." This starts the great search for my paperwork. He's rifling through papers, here, there, and everywhere. Can't find them. Employee: "I've gotta get my manager." 0 for 3. I don't know what happened to Gentleman #1 (maybe he got free brakes??), but the manager finally locates my paperwork. He asks me how my service was. I say, "Honestly, really disorganized." He presses me for more information, which I give. After I left, I figured I'd check the Yelp reviews. The other Yelp reviews confirm - horrible customer service experience. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad ... I have had hit-or-miss success with this Pep Boys location. Small jobs such as oil changes and coolant flushes are typically done quick and painless. However for bigger jobs such as replacing an AC compressor and idle pulley the service was so-so. I have never had a problem with the actual job but more with the overall service of the mechanics. On some occasions I have found trash left behind by mechanics, dirt smudges around interior and spilled fluids around the engine. On one occasion something inside my car (an extra car part) was lost and I had to be refunded. I like the front staff at this pep boys location but the mechanics are not the most professional. However it could just be the mechanics I was assigned so I shouldn't assume that they are all the same. read more

I am continually disappointed with this place. This past Saturday was that the last time. I usually have pretty easy stuff done, like an alignment or an oil change if I'm in a pinch. There always "something" else wrong with my car. I'm a car guy, keep up on maintenance and am meticulous when it comes to repairs. I went in to schedule a appointment for the next day to have some winter tires installed and a alignment. Was told Sunday was all booked up...ok, fine. Then I looked around, not a customer in sight, not a car in any of the bays and mechanics standing around. I asked if it could be done today. "Oh, no we're booked solid". How are you going to say that without an explanation of what's in plain view. Then he offers to make an appointment for later in the week. No, thanks. I'm tired of excuses every time I visit this location. It's not like I save any money going here, you're pricing is outrageous for things that take 15-30 mins. I went into Pep Boys over the weekend to get an estimate on my tire because of a huge bubble in the right front tire. I drove over a pot hole. He suggested I replace all 4 tires!! He said its because I have an all wheel drive car. So I went home devastated with a 611.00 estimate receipt. It felt like a scam. So I consulted with a person who went to automotive school and he confirmed that they were scamming me because the tires don't balance out the car. Its the axle that does all the balancing. I had previously purchased a full set of new tires at this location about 6 months ago. I purchased the road hazard plan to go with them as well. Fast forward to present day, I had a flat. I called this location to make an appointment to get it fixed and was given a 1 o'clock appointment. When I got there, it was 12:50. I stood in line for a half hour before I was even taken care of. When it was my turn, there was no record of my appointment in the computer. After they figured it out, I told them I would also like to get my tires rotated since that is also included when you purchase tires with Pep Boys. The employee was not aware of this and was going to charge me for it. Finally they took my keys, and went to get my car worked on. I asked how long they thought it would be and was told the technician was going to take it in right now. After an hour and a half passed, I went to the desk and asked if my car was done. They asked the technician what the status of my car was and informed me the tire was unfixable, and I would need to replace it. I was set up with the replacement, told the cost, and then they informed the technician of the replacement. I was in the store for another two and a half hours. For a flat repair turned tire replacement that is ridiculous. I changed my tire when it went flat in about 10 minutes by hand. The poor communication and laziness by the staff ended up having me in the store for almost 4 hours. I will not be doing any more business with Pep Boys because they do not value my time, and certainly do not take pride in good customer service. read more

You can often get a better deal if you buy your item on line and pick it up in the store. Screwy marketing if you ask me. As I entered the store I got a cheerful greeting. I found the jacket I wanted and asked if they could honor the on line 25% off. I was informed that there was a special and the jacket was 60% off and told that other items were on sale so I bought additional things. I felt that the staff really cared. Brought my grandmothers mini van in for an oil change - had a smooth experience all around. Megan helped me by looking up her previous work orders to make sure I was purchasing the correct oil change service. I left the van in their lot to run errands but was told it would be ready in an hour or so. Once the oil was changed and air filter replaced - they called to let us know we could come pick it up. We arrived to find her truck waiting ready at the service door, went inside and paid using a coupon from my mobile phone ( that Megan took the time to figure out how to open for us), got the keys and we were back on our way. Where do I begin ? Been going here for years ! 7 vehicles and counting and Chris and Tiffany are the only ones I'll trust around my car. Bought a new Subaru and bring it to Chris for my warranty work rather than the dealer, that's how much trust I have in him. Tiffany has always treated me great and isn't afraid to beat competitor pricing ! Zero complaints. A place like Pepboys needs folks like them. There Seekonk's biggest assets. Haven't done 3,000 miles and it's not due for one till march this is going off the sticker they gave me. And turns out there was no oil in my car after paying almost $80.
