Worst experience that I've had in a long time. Everybody always tells me to avoid Pep Boys. I thought they would've changed, but I see their behavior is still the same. I had my car dropped off on Sunday. I was told there was no technician and that somebody would be able to look at it on Monday. I reached out and spoke with Brian around 11:30 AM today, he said he didn't know anything about it and would call me back, he never called me back. I called again an hour later and he's claiming that the guy from yesterday left a note stating that I was going to have the car towed back to the dealership. Why would I tow my car to you guys instead of the dealership if that was the case? I then asked Brian was he going to have somebody look at it, he then proceeded to tell me that he didn't have a technician today. When I asked, why didn't they call and tell me that he said he didn't know anything about it and that he didn't want to get involved. Brian then proceeds to tell me that he's waiting on the guy from yesterday to call or text him back with an answer. Instead of them taking the initiative to actually look at my car today they gave me the runaround. I even had the extended warranty company give them a call and ask why didn't they look at the car and they couldn't give her an answer either. They have a somewhat scam-like operation going on. I bought tires with installation online and chose to pay when I got to the shop. I showed my receipt with grand total when I arrived to confirm the price. Confirmed. When my car was ready 90 minutes later, they had added a $25 shop charge. I refused to pay that. They claimed they had no way to remove and acted as if they had never experienced this before, as if were the first person EVER to buy tires with installation on their website. Then they claimed they had no way to contact corporate, whom they blamed this on. Since I needed my car, I paid the extra $25 but called customer service immediately to file a complaint. It's been a week and still no one has called. I knew I would be able to easily dispute the charge with AMEX, which is what I did. I don't recommend giving your business to an unscrupulous company that pulls this bait and switch on people, knowing there's nothing you can do. What's happened to decent, honest businesses in this day and age? Everyone seems to be out to trick you just to make an extra buck. This is NOT a place I would ever go too. My husband called the shop a few days prior and made an appointment for me to have a tire put on that I had shipped to their location. We were given a time, informed them of the make and model, etc. When we came in around 7:45 AM that Saturday morning the associate was surly, asked me 3 times to repeat the make and model, and looked like he would rather be elsewhere. I shouldn't even leave a review because the two I read pretty much sum it up. They are shady. Most mechanics are but these guys hustle and swindle until your pockets are empty. I just went in for a pad change because I noticed a minor squeak at low speeds. Same as the other reviewer, they call me out because my calipers are leaking fluid because the seals are bad. On both of the rear calipers. What are the chances? Both calipers need to be changed and the lines need to be bled. I went from spending 145.99 for pads on one axle to 699.18 for calipers on one axle. I talked them down to 600 but I went to the Independent in Avondale (Honda/Acura specialists) and they said the calipers were probably just fine. He could've done the seals for way less. Lesson learned. If you do go here, get a second opinion. Nice guys, though. read more

I got two brake shoes and a drum replaced along with a brake flush for $325, which I think is a fair price. For a few weeks I had been hearing a grinding noise coming from my left rear wheel when I hit the breaks, and the noise was getting worse. I came in wanting to get my brakes checked, and the manager I spoke to is Q. She was really pleasant to talk to and very informative, and we went through the problem after the mechanic -- I think his name is Dennis -- took my wheels apart. It turned out (I should have seen this coming a long time ago!) that one brake shoe was partially worn to the bone, and as a result its drum was etched through so bad that mechanically smoothing it out was no longer an option. After some talk, Q offered a discount on the initial quote and offered a discounted break flush, and we agreed to go ahead with the job. I stood by Dennis as he did every step of the service, and he was wonderful to talk to. He answered the many questions I had pertaining to the service and to car stuff in general. He did quick work; the whole thing took him about 20 minutes. It has been about a week since I got the service done and everything is fine with my brakes. I was really pleased with my time at Just Brakes, and I plan to return for future services. read more

Brandon C. Technically stole my car, tore out the clutch and the 2 managers lied and covered him. They have refused to own responsibility. I have called multiple Certified Subaru Mechanics and well as other Pepboys to find out that they lied, and that Brandon C Had no business taking my car on a "test run". To make matters worse I am 40 weeks pregnant and they left me with no way of getting to the hospital when I do go into labor and the manager flat out said that the safety of me and my child were not important. Okay, so yesterday I did something coming through Midtown, driving down Juniper where they're doing all the construction, and I believe I rode over one of those metal plates and into a pothole, because there was a VERY LOUD sound, and a hard bump. I noticed last night that there was squeaking sound, and slight rubbing at that point, so I wanted to take my car to the shop later today and see what it was.. Last night, I had my neighbor, who knows a little about cars just eye it over and he said my calipers are bent, but they can be banged out with a mallet hammer. He suggest that I get someone to look at it. Since it was time for new brakes, I figured I'd get those done too, while the tires were off... Fast forward to this morning, I get into my truck, start it up, and the gas light is on.. *sigh* Didn't wanna fill the truck up today, gas is just too damned high, so might as well take the car and get it fixed this morning. I take my car to Just Brakes (who advertises $99 Brake Service, which includes brake pads on all 4 wheels, machining (turning) of the rotors, and repacking of the bearings).. When I first walk in, I could see the shade sitting behind the counter. Big fat light skinned man named Charles. Okay, I won't prejudge Charles too badly. Anyway, I tell them that I want "brakes and the rotors will more than likely need to be resurfaced.. oh, and the caliper on the right side front may be bent a little, it's rubbing, could you bang that out", I then proceed to tell them that I want to leave my car, and get taken to the Marta station, so I can be on my merry way to work. This is a service they offer, according to their website. LUCKILY, Charles said there was no one there to take me at the moment, it would be about 15 minutes until someone got in who could take me. Okay, so they start the "inspection". I'm glad I was there for this. They pulled the tires off first, then the calipers. Popped the hood, and get to looking under there too. Fine. I see Charles walking around the car, with his clipboard. That's when I knew I was about to get greased up for entry. They were about to screw me, and probably good. After 10 minutes of "inspection", Charles calls me in. He has another "mechanic" walk me around the vehicle, pointing out "problems". He shows me my master cylinder, my rotors, my calipers, my hoses connected to my calipers, my hydraulic system and something else. He then ushers me back over to where Charles is standing with the clipboard. Charles then proceeds the hard sale. "Yeah, we noticed a few problems with your system. We're gonna need to rebuild your hydraulic system, you need a new master cylinder, because yours is leaking, your rear calipers are sticking, your rotors are out of spec, oh, and your hoses are corroded." I laughed slightly. I asked Charles how much is all this gonna cost me?? "$884" WTF!? At this point, I'm literally laughing in Charles' face. I had to pull myself together, because I realized I was being rude to an obvious professional here. A professional bait and switch artist. I then told him about how all I asked for, was brakes and for the rotors to be resurfaced. He tells me they can't stand behind the work, unless they do a FULL REPAIR. Oh really? I made a play here, I told him to let me contact my wife (don't even have one) and make sure it's okay to spend that much, and I had him give me his findings of what they thought was "necessary work", IN WRITING. I walked outside, pretended to get on the phone and call someone. I came back in and told him, "You know what, just put my car back together, I'll just called FOX5 Consumer Reports, and they're willing to meet me at Meineke up the street, and we'll redo this same "inspection" and see what THEY find. They've had complaints about this out of your company in the past.". At this point, the other mechanics are overhearing Charles and my exchange, and they all begin to scatter. Charles' face gets red at this point. Then he tries to get the paper that he just gave me, back from me. OOHHHHH NOOO!!!! I got you by the balls... You put it in writing... Tried to price gouge on a brotha, and didn't think I had sense enough to call your bluff. Long story short. They ended up doing my brakes, and resurfacing 3 of my rotors. I had to replace one, and they straightened my Caliper, all for $158. Be careful, if they think you don't know anything, they WILL try to get you. Just went in a for an oil change ..my car was serviced in Florida before we brought it up to Georgia so there was nothing wrong with it.. the lady Q took my info and I waited she cranked the car up pulled it in and they started the oil change..minutes went by and the guy who was doing the oil change came back and said I had a MAJOR!! oil leak.(I new they were trying to scam when they told me that)so my husband went out and looked at what they were talking about they guy who was doing the change then proceeded to tell my husband that the leak is so bad I will need a whole new motor and it was going to coast $5000 to get it done..so I went on to pay for my oil change and the guy doing the change didn't know how to crank up my car he yelled out why is it not starting (we never had issues starting the car ever) so Q the lady started laughing and said you just don't no how to crank it(she cranked the car and drove it into the space to get the oil change done) so he cranks the car and Q gets in it and pulls the car out and says why is your car taking so long to crank it shouldn't do that it should crank right up when she had no issue cranking the car when it was time for the oil change (so why is there a problem now) so they proceed to tell me that I need to tAke it into a engine shop??? Wtf is that?? So before we get in the car and drive the guy comes out and said press the gas one time so Q did and he said oh yeah it's leaking oil bad you need to put oil in it every week .. little did they no my truck tells me how much oil life I have and when I need to get it changed .so we got in the car took the key out and cranked it with no problem right in front of them and pulled off we parked the car and did the Same thing and there was no problem and no oil leaking from the bottom.. I never had oil spots and oil never leaked from the bottom..they didn't even no how to crank my car.. I will never go back to them again.. they are scammers and don't no what they are talking about ....never ever again read more
