Absolutely the WORST customer service I have ever received! The management and owner do not even care. Way too many issues and problems to list. If you want to be treated horrible, have everyone's order at your table completely screwed up and charged for the bartenders errors then you should go to Pepe's Homer glen! read more

I have to say that my family has been going to Pepes for at least 40 years. All the different locations, and we landed on the Homer location as being the best so far. Salsa is delish, yum i could eat it for days! Service is always friendly, sometimes they get busy but for the most part i cant complain. Its def not authentic mexican but hey i grew up on it and i think its just fine. Love it! read more

Dont eat here!!!! Worst service I have ever had. The hostess sat us. We recieved the chips and salsa from the bus boy. the waitess (Olivia) took our order and that was it. We never saw her again. We had to ask another waiter to find her for refills. Then she was gone again. We finally recieved our order cold. I have to wonder how long it sat under the warmer lights. This restaurant has gone downhill ever since the new management took over. There are very few carry out orders that have been correct. Just about every time I go there I need to make sure that the sour cream is included which they usually forget. Staff turnover is high. We were patient, giving them time to improve after new management, but more than enough time has passed. We're giving up on this restaurant and you should too. read more

Been patronizing this Pepe's since it was built. In the last year, it has gone downhill. I will not be ordering from there again. Tonight, all 3 orders were incorrect. When you order salsa and chips, apparently you have to be specific with the chips. The staff doesn't seem to care one way or the other about much...at all. I wish tonight was an anomaly but it speaks to the last year of experiences with this restaurant. If you like playing roulette with your meal and an apathetic atmosphere around your dining experience, then this is the place for you read more

The wait was so long that we didn't get to finish our meal because we got so full with the chips and salsa. Also the bathrooms were disgusting it was dirty, smelly and garbage over flowing. The food was okay. read more

The problem with this place is the service, not the food. The food is fantastic, but the service is just AWFUL. It is under new ownership, so we gave it another try, but it is still a problem. SO, we decided, let's just order carry-out and then we can get the good food and not have to deal with the poor service. We could not get through on the phone lines. They must take the phone off the hook when they are busy, because we put the phone on automatic call back and waited an hour and it still didn't ring. The phone was obviously off the hook! read more

Well, unfortunately here we go again. 2 weeks ago I was meeting a friend at this Pepe's. Sadly it used to be the best one in the southwest suburbs. My friend arrived 20 minutes before me, when I arrived he was still waiting to be seated!!! No one even acknowledged him. we just went and sat at the bar for a few drinks before we ate. We sat at the bar a good 5 to 10 minutes before the bartender even came out from the back. We were the only ones there. As we were about to order a couple of Coronarita's we noticed the glasses for them were on a bottom shelf less than 1 inch off the floor. And a toilet plunger right next to them. We had beer instead. As we were sitting there the bartender picked up the toilet plunger and went in back, he returned about 5 minutes later with the plunger dripping and set it right back down next to the Coronarita glasses. We then moved to a booth for lunch with my order I requested Joes sauce which is a great salsa made by the owner. Our waiter also the bartender did not know what I was talking about. I explained to him what it was and he told us it was not that owner anymore that the restaurant was under different ownership. That explained it all, someone new owns the establishment and it rolls down hill like crap down a mountain. It seems obvious now that Pepe's no longer cares who they franchise to. When we went up front to pay our bill there were 2 waiters a man and a lady engaged in conversation on the other side of the dining room. We waited about 5 minutes for them to notice us. We could have walked right out the door without paying and no one would have noticed. I was finally able to get their attention to pay the bill. Now that leaves 4 Pepe's I will not return to. Service was bad, because of the toilet plunger next to the glasses cleanliness left much to be desired. This Pepe's goes from 5 stars to 1. Gag me with a taco, I'm done with all Pepe's. Burrito Jalisco is better cleaner and classier. read more

It's nothing against the specific location, I guess just pepe's in general. If you think they have good Mexican food, you may want to explore outside the realm of chain restaurants. Pepe's is a poor excuse for Mexican food. Soggy tortillas and the rice and beans are very bland. I tried going there a couple of times thinking that the second time my taco wouldn't be so soggy but I was wrong. Avoid this place if you know what real Mexican food is. read more

Went here for lunch on a Thursday, and it was really very good! We had a steak taco plate and a combination plate, and both were very tasty. Our waiter was an older gentleman and he was super attentive, brought 2 drink refills without us asking, and made sure we had enough chips and salsa, etc...I can't wait to try the buffet next time, it looked amazing!! read more

If this is what a Mexican restaurant is, then I would NEVER eat in Mexico. How in the world do people actually come here to eat/drink? Attempted to have a Sunday dinner her with friends (6 of us). Don't even know how to figure out which part of the experience was worse! The waitress obviously had no clue as how to serve guests. Slowest (I mean s l o w e s t ) service I have ever received. Completely un-attentive to any of our requests. The high priced 'margaritas' had no alcohol in them and tasted like syrup. Food came, and the waitress must have been on break, as she did not come back to our table for 20 minutes, and that was only after we had to give her 'the look' to get her to come. Every time we asked for something, she would always forget something.She must have died after we paid the bill as the table was left our dirty plates, nothing was taken away nor were we asked if there is anything else we would like. read more

We used to love this place until we had two horrible experiences. The first was when we tried to use a groupon. We asked the waitress if we could use two groupons. We knew that you can only use one per table but we were with friends and she told us no problem, she would just ring us up separate. She could not ring it up that way and the manager came over and explained how groupon works. We understood how groupons work but the server told us we could use two and the manager told us "too bad". What a joke, the manager clearly should not be in that position. read more

Stopped in here the other day for lunch. Didn't know they have a buffet for lunch. Which was awesome. Good Mexican food. Friendly service.

I have had a lot of their food before and it has all been really good, especially their chicken tacos. I have also had their churros which are really good every time I ordered them. Except this time I ordered for pick up and I got home to open the box of churros with no cinnamon and sugar, just dry churros. Which is probably just a mistake this time but who doesn't put cinnamon and sugar on churros at a Mexican restaurant! read more

Take out--beef taco's swimming in grease, could hardly pick it up; steak taco meat very well done and greasy; spanish rice very dry. So disappointed. For years take out has always been very good, we haven't had their food in a couple of months, dramatic change, won't go back. read more

Don't expect anything homemade here. Dry out of a can retried beans, bland dry rice, and food smothered in rubbery cheese to hide it. We did hav a very friendly server, and there seemed to be good drink specials. Pop served is rc/diet rite, which I refuse to drink. Won't be back! read more

I went there last night with my family very disappointed with the service that we got I feel like everyone else was doing his job he basically took our order and the next time we saw him was when he gave us a box he didn't bring our food out or even ask us how it was after it was brought out I understand that's sometimes you do get busy and they have food runners but literally this guy had four different tables which isn't much to handle i also wanted to order another Long Island by the time he came back I was so frustrated I didn't even want one no more ,i actually used to work at this location , so customer service is very big in my book I was very disappointed that I couldn't tip more than I did I'm usually very generous with tipping I understand that's how they make their money but if you're barely doing anything you don't deserve a tip,on the positive note I could say that the salsa is a hundred times better the food was okay but overall I would have liked to have a better experience there it's one of my favorite places to eat but the last two times I've been there the customer service just isn't there it's very disappointing. read more

My family and I have been going to this Pepe's for years and have always enjoyed it. However, after yesterday's experience, we will not be returning. Had a take out coupon for a taco dinner for four $19.99. Gave the coupon to the young women at counter. She had to get another women to get the order correct. Order still wrong and the manager had to void the charge. Another order placed, this time correct. Waited in the bar and our order was delivered. Very small package and questioned if it was our order. It was not. Five minutes later, larger take out given to us. Bag contained styrofoam boxes - our order. Drove home (15 min drive) only to find it contained boxes of chicken nuggets and fries. Drove back with the food order and asked for another void. Same girls at counter told us our correct order was there and if we wanted it. Declined, as it was sitting for over 30 minutes! Again, the manager had to void our credit card (second time in less than 1 hr). After explaining our situation, he apologized and told the two young women to "get their act together". No offered compensation for our troubles, not even a drink coupon. Horrible customer service ... Will not return. read more

We always see this place busy on the weekends when we drive past so a group of us decided to head over on a Tuesday. Not really crowded which I like for a weekday so we can get in and out. We had great service and they have some real good weekday specials. Really good food. All in all...good food, good service...good time!!! read more

When I tried to use a groupon they told me I could not order from the lunch menu. Next, they said my groupon was not valid at the Homer Glen Location. I was extremely disappointed. So when I called a the Hickory Hills location that did accept the groupon, they hung up on me. All I wanted to do was get a refund or transfer the groupon to the Homer Glen location. I WILL NEVER EAT AT PEPE's AGAIN. I can't believe the lack customer service I received. read more

Aweful!!! Under new managemnt and they suck. We have gone here for years with no problem. Husband has allergy, comes back and tells us food is good to go. Then 10 minutes later comes rushing out and tells him not to eat what he already ate. Then gomto use a 2 for $20 deal and they charge us full price, adding extra fees for everything. Service was aweful and bus boys extremely rude. Will never return. So sad. I would give 0 staes if i could. read more
