Think about yummy's combinations and add about 7-10 more combos to choose from. Plus add new menu item like bbq pork chops, and other weekly specials. The restaurant itself has about seven small booths, which are clean. It's surprising since it is in such a small spot. The counter help is quick and efficient. Parking - You don't have too worry about parking cause get CHOKE aka A lot of parking and it's free parking don't have too pay (which is always a plus when parking situation is GOOD at a business) Service - The service here at this Resturant is GOOD, specially thee Filipina lady workers who help's out with your CHOICES of SIDES for your plate order. Which your choices of sides is Kim Chee, Corn, Sprouts, potato, Mac salad, Tofu, Cabbage, Long Rice, Seaweed etc). As of late I been buying their ALL VEGGIE plate with Consist of 5 choices of sides, I normally get the *Potato with mayo *Kim CHEE *Long Rice *Tofu *Seaweed Salad. We were looking for THE Yummy Korean BBQ but they must've changed ownership and it was Peppa's Korean BBQ. My husband was craving the BBQ chicken but theirs wasn't as juicy and tasty as the Yummy's. My seaweed soup was good and plentiful. The whole meal is easily 2plus serving so though it's not cheap, it's technically cost-effective. Been coming to this place for years, they have ALWAYS been consistent with food quality. My go to order is the Yummy's Special. The meats are always so hot, fresh and flavorful and also abundant, they don't skimp out on the meat that's for sure. It can be kind of pricy but they do give you quite a bit for what you pay for. I always love their wide variety of sides you can add to your plate as well. I've never had a bad experience here, workers are always friendly and efficient. Peppa's is located in the Kamehameha Shopping Center near Times Market. The poster of the spicy fried chicken wings plate caught our eyes, and the smell of BBQ. Smells so good! We ordered several items, Bi Bim Bap, BBQ chicken, spicy pork, and the spicy chicken wings. We made a phone order, and by the time we got there, the food was ready. Nothing to do with the food, but I was really impressed that Peppa's uses cloth type bags for their food plates, really cool. First, the portions are big, very big! My order was the spicy pork, and it's not the traditional spicy pork. It's BBQ pork with a spicy kochujang sauce. Not saying it wasn't good, just not the traditional style. I had a mini and the plate was probably the size of a regular plate from other places. As a side note, I have read posts that the food is quite salty here, and yes, it is. My choy sum and also the pork was salty. Good, but salty. Peppa's has good food, and large portions, but please, cut down on the salt! read more

This place sucks now. Yummys used to be good but once they changed it's horrible. The veggies don't taste the same, they taste soggy and old. The sauces taste different too and not in a good way. It's like they put a ton of sugar where it doesn't belong. They don't even cut the meat jun anymore out of pure laziness. The portions have gone down and the price has gone up. Food was excellent - great flavor. As a rule we don't get rice but rather more veggies. The BBQ beef and chicken were well marinated and perfectly grilled. Where some places the meats are barely marinated, this was tasty. Our go-to veggies are choy sum, bean sprouts, chop chae, and kim chee. They were all tasty. The choy sum was a little salty this time but normally they're perfect. The order was taken and filled quickly, and our takeout was on its way home. Easy stress-free dinner. If you're dying of hunger and are craving Korean in the kalihi area, this is the place to visit. I never really come to this shopping plaza but I'm always passing by it as I return home on the Like Like. Parking here is pretty horrendous with skinny stalls, crazy drivers and alway busy! But if you're patient, people are always constantly leaving, so stalls come and go all the time. Peppa's is like every other Korean takeout joint. You get to choose side dishes to go with your plate lunch. 4 for a regular size and 2 for mini.... and don't forget, you can always get an extra option if you choose no rice. The difference between this joint and your normal Tasty's or Yummy's is their portion size. They are very generous with portions. Decided to try their wings this time and a regular bbq pork for my dad. Pork is always good. Not like some other places we've been to, there's no massive amounts of fat attached to the meat here. The wings were interesting. It's in like a mochiko batter (little bit sweet) mixed with kochujang sauce I think. It had a little bit of spice and its coloring is red. After a great weekend started heading home. It was dinner time and we were to lazy to cook so of course it was a search of something new and near by home. Ended up here that use to be Yummy's. Not sure what the difference is because their serving the same thing. But anywhos, the Mister got choice tonight. He ordered the mix plate of BBQ chicken and meat jun. sides were the sweet potato, sprouts, mac salad & pickled seaweed (to much vinegar). Food is consistently good and you get a lot of it. They also don't skimp on the sides. Staff is nice enough and are generally quick, efficient. This is one of our go to takeout places for Korean. Price is a little on the higher side, but then again its comparable to other Korean takeout joints. I also like that it has plenty of parking at the shopping center! :-) read more

I don't like the parking lot at Kamehameha shopping center but never have a problem finding a spot. We got the bibimbap, bbq chicken, and bbq beef and chicken combo plate. The combo plate came with two scoops rice, four sides (we got choy sum, omelet, shoyu potato, cabbage), a slice of fried zucchini and one fried mandoo. Everything was tasty and fresh (you know how some places you can tell the foods been sitting out for a while? Not like that here). At 11:30am on a Saturday, there was a line. This food is soooo good. Soooo fresh. I got the curry and they gave me more than enough to cover my food. Which is super nice because it sucks when a restaurant doesn't give enough sauce/curry. We have been to this location several times since 2019. I must say the food is getting much better each time we go. Of course prices have gone up too. However the quality, wide selection and integrity of food has been getting better each time. I would have given them 5 stars, but I have yet to see the staff washing their hands and or using/ changing gloves after they touch money and then spooning up the banchan. I brought it up to the gentleman at the register and he laughed and dismissed me. And still didn't wash his hands after he was handling cash and proceeded to scoop up the banchan. The counter staff also has a habit of playing with their hair and not washing their hands before grabbing the utensils to plate the banchan. Anyways that's why I didn't give it a 5 star rating. I did a take out of the bbq chicken plate and Yook Jae jang soup. They were both horrible! The chicken was so dry! Like when chicken is in your refrigerator for a week then you microwave it dry. The meat for the yook jae jang soup was dry! I was so surprised because it was in the soup! The quality of meats have totally slacked when they changed to Peppas. This restaurant is run and looks like an old Yummies. The main problem and food poisoning I had was from the chunky potato salad. I never had hot or really hot potato salad before, but it tasted good. Meat chun was less than average to most places. An hour after eating there, I started throwing up a lot and dry heaving 3 separate times. I looked up online and it says never eat hot potato salad, from different nutrition sites. The salad is almost immediately no good. The next day I felt lousy but I never went to the dr or ER. So I call the manager Patrick who refused to give his last name. (Kind of shady). I told him about his hot potato salad. He said they always serve it hot. He was lying, everyone I ever talked to said when they order it it's cold. Very disappointed. Peppa's meat jun is the saddest meat jun I've ever had. The meat jun I made at home was tastier than theirs. The meat was super thin and bland. The egg batter was thick. And it was very 'flour-y' between the meat and the egg. I know you use flour to make meat jun but I've never ever had meat jun where you can see and taste it. It was gross. We showed it to the cashier. They said they were gonna make another one for us. But it's the same thing. Still flour-y in the middle. Ew... just thinking of it makes me cringe.
