What a waste of time, gas and food!

I ordered carne asada burrito for my mom I said only carne asada with cheese tortillas and I said no beans and rice am so disappointed when I got home they didn't follow my order at all they still put beans and rice on it. Again am so disappointed!

Stopped in here at about 10am on a Friday because Denny's was too crowded, and it was the best decision ever! There was one other customer when we arrived, and two or three other tables arrived after us. The ambiance inside is great - lots of tables, high ceilings, and large windows letting lots of natural light in. I got the chicken enchiladas plate, which is my go-to, and my partner got the huevos con chorizo. I am not exaggerating when I say these were the most delicious enchiladas I have ever had in my life. Every part of the plate was amazing; it came with 3 verde chicken enchiladas, beans with cheese, rice, and sour cream (that DID NOT cost extra!). It was so delicious and filling, I took one enchilada home and it was just as good after being microwaved. I was thoroughly impressed with the service too - we both got coffees which were consistently refilled before they could get half-empty. The food took a little while, but was 100% worth it. Please go check this place out next time you are in the area, you won't regret it!

Today I decided to stop in and try the Friday special, fish and chips. My server Brenda was very attentive and friendly. My ice tea never reached the bottom of the glass. The fish was yummy and came out crispy and hot.. I did get more as it was all you can eat.. The fries were crispy and hot too.. I brought my favorite soup home with me.. Pepper Pot Soup.. Yummy.. Thank You I will be back...FYI the toast was yummy too, I wanted to ask for more..

    Let's try this out

Service is quick didn't wait long to be seated And our food came out quick as well Food tasted good some waiters here look and sound like they don't want to be here but the rest of the people were nice and friendly

I waited about an hour for these so called enchiladas and the cheese was burnt on the enchilada the beans tasted sour, rice was hard.

To begin with the employee seemed in a rush no patience whatsoever as I had a large order I guess customer service is not their thing, Food taste and quality is horrible I waited about an hour for them to give me my last part of my order some so called enchiladas that had the cheese burnt on to the top of the enchilada, the beans had a sour taste and the rice was hard, As a local for over a decade now this was my first and last time here, food is over priced don't waste your money here you are better off with any of the street vendors down the street!!!

Pepper Steak is king, but I will take credit for a day.

Good American chow. No pretenses, no gimmicks, no foo foo nonsense. Reminds me of ordinary places in the midwest or upper South, where you'd find the same kind of chow in every town. But out here in SoCal, it's rare, and to me a national treasure, like a historic landmark you can eat. I like to have real food at places like The Pep. Exhibit A: Chicken fried steak. My nod to healthy eating prompts me to take the gravy on the side. I know, the shame my parents must bear. Very good! Some pepper, crust crunchy and not thin, crust stays attached to said steak, and tender steak, all with a fried ambiance. Gravy not overwhelming, creamy and buttery, with a hint of flour taste (means it's real). I also loved to see other patrons. Many are couples, older, and almost all the men have big BIG moustaches. Ha. Dinner and a show!

Love the food. We had the best waitress. Her name is Cassondra. I guess she only serves dinner. But excellent service, she's so sweet.

Last night, however, was disappointing. I had a reservation for 7:30 PM and arrived around 7:10 PM. The bar area was nearly empty, with only about 2-3 guests seated. I checked in and asked the host if we could sit at the bar, but I was told the bar was already at full capacity for the evening. We decided to play some slots while waiting, expecting to be seated shortly, but we didn't receive a text until around 7:45 PM saying our table was ready. The experience left me feeling brushed aside and unwelcome. I was looking forward to enjoying a nice steak dinner, but instead I left feeling like my business didn't matter. It was frustrating to see an almost empty bar while being told there was no availability. As a loyal customer, that was disappointing. A little more hospitality and flexibility could have turned the evening around. Instead, it made me question whether certain guests are treated differently than others. Thank you for showing your true colors that evening.

Most recently we had breakfast. To start, the server took our order and was polite and organized. She brought out our drinks efficiently. The coffee is flavorless. We wanted a good…read moresteak and a place to unwind, so I took a chance on Ye Olde Lamplighter after seeing the reviews. Pulling into the parking lot, we weren't sure what to expect, this place blends right into its surroundings and gives major "if you know, you know" energy. It's literally next to a collector's shop. Walking inside felt like stepping into an old movie, very cozy, dim, and full of character. Booth seating is limited, so we started at a small table with the option to move once a booth opened up. Drinks in hand, we took in the scene and quickly realized this spot has karaoke and a loyal group of regulars who bring the entertainment. We ordered pan seared ahi and potato skins to start, and once we moved to a booth, the food arrived. The ahi was fresh and surprisingly good, especially for my first time trying it. The potato skins were classic and paired perfectly with our drinks. For entrées, we both went with the ribeyes and chose baked potatoes as our sides. The steaks came out tender, juicy, flavorful and honestly far better than we expected. The kind of meal that makes you pause mid‑bite and look at each other like, "Wait... this is actually delicious." And the pricing? Perfect. Almost unbelievable for the quality of the food, service, and overall experience. Between the great steaks, friendly staff, lively atmosphere, and the chance to just relax and enjoy each other's company, this place delivered exactly what we needed. We'll definitely be back.

I'm glad I didn't listen to myself, and we went in and had a great experience. I would say that this place is like an old-fashioned steakhouse, dark, but comfortable. The bar area seemed to be occupied by regulars, as did several of the booths and tables in the dining area. We met Lisa & Dave, the owners, and Lisa waited on us, while Dave was tending the bar. We started with two Old Fashioned cocktails, one a Crème Brûlée and the other a Blackberry. Both were unique, outstandingly delicious, and at $9 each, a real steal. So much so, we shared a second Crème Brulé Old Fashioned. FOOD: They started us off with a complimentary basket of Cheesy Garlic Bread. We ordered the Sautéed Mushrooms ($14) to share. My mother-in-law got the Lamp Burger ($13) served with fries, and my wife and I both ordered the Prime Rib (Queen Cut $37) served with veggies & fries. We both got the side salad, but I also ordered a cup of Chili Verde soup ($5). I asked for a side of blue cheese dressing and received a small cup of the homemade blue cheese dressing using Gorgonzola which was fantastic! We finished it off with their Brown Butter Cake ($10) served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I can't begin to emphasize how delicious everything was, and the service was top notch. I guess the lesson is, don't judge a book by its cover (or the parking lot). We had a delicious meal, fantastic cocktails, and excellent service. We'd most definitely return for another visit. Before leaving, I decided to grab about 2 pounds of pork pastor for dinner, and asked if they could cook it for me. I was genuinely shocked in the best way at how affordable it was. The price for the meat plus the cooking fee came out to less than $10. When I got home and tried it, all I can say is wow. The pork was incredibly flavorful, tender, and absolutely delicious. The next day when I returned to pick up our large order, everything was ready right on time. The team went above and beyond by helping load everything into my car and even placing napkins underneath the trays to prevent any spills. That level of care really stood out. At church, everyone kept talking about how great the food was. The chicken and steak were both big hits, the beans were very good, and I was honestly surprised at how fresh and flavorful the guacamole was. All in all, this was a top-tier experience.
