Came in for breakfast with my family, but unfortunately we had a family emergency and had to leave before we were even able to place our food order. We had only been served three coffees, which we didn't even have time to drink, yet we were charged $20. We were especially disappointed because we truly want to support locally owned businesses, but the way the situation was handled made that difficult. The food was great. I brought my parents and my sister with me and we all enjoyed our food. Mine was the steak and eggs with fried green chillies, house salsa, and lemons. It was all very good, and the chilies tasted so good worth some fresh lemon juice. The steak was cooked to my liking, medium-rare, the eggs sunny side up, and the salsa was so good. I'm very happy that they made the Hatch green chilies a permanent item from what I was told as I'm a huge fan of this item for it's flavor and versatile spiciness (mild, but sometimes you get a great little surprise). We were early for a meeting in Redlands on a Tuesday morning. Since we had an hour and a half to fill, we stopped in here for breakfast. We were quickly seated. The place looked very clean. I ordered biscuits and sausage gravy with hash browns and scrambled eggs. My wife had a waffle that came with scrambled eggs and bacon. My food was excellent. There were two large light and fluffy biscuits smothered in a tasty sausage gravy. This covered its own plate. (An oddity in California. Biscuits and gravy that tastes good.). The eggs were cooked just right. The hash browns were great. Everything was hot when it was served. My wife enjoyed her breakfast as well. She said her waffle was wonderful. We were surprised at how busy this place was for a Tuesday morning. There was a constant flow of people of all ages into this place. My wife said it reminded her of cafes in my home state of Kansas. This place was really good my friend and I stopped by for a quick breakfast before driving back to San Diego. Typical breakfast spot ambiance not too quiet not too loud. Service was prompt, it was busy what looks to be lots of regulars that the waiters know which is always a good sign. And the food came out quick and was really good and they brought us all our requests for extra butter, etc no problem! We've had the classic Benedict before, and it comes with three beautifully poached eggs and lots of hollandaise. Either they were out of their normal breakfast potatoes or they've changed them, but they were thinly sliced and a teeny bit soggy, not the chunks of potato we were expecting. The hatch chile Benedict was amazing. Lots of pork, sauce, and chile with crispy hash browns. It was a little disappointing that this one didn't also come with three eggs, only two, so it wasn't a perfect ratio. Today I ordered the mother clucker, which is fried chicken with a choice of eggs, bread, and potato. It was delicious; I was impressed by the thickness of the chicken, and it was cooked perfectly. For bread, I chose the biscuits with gravy--I thought this was fine but not great, being a little too heavy without enough flavor, and I might have preferred toast. Note that there is a 3.5% up-charge for credit card payments. I understand that some businesses do this to pass on the credit card fees that they have to pay (though I would argue that there are costs associated with cash payments, too). Came right when they opened with my coworkers as we all got off nearby. There were limited parking spots as it is in the same plaza as other businesses but there are also street parking. Upon entering, we were quickly serviced and given menus. The service was great and everybody was very friendly/helpful for my party's accommodations. The toast was heavily smeared with margarine, not butter, which was extremely off putting. Hashbrowns weren't bad but had a ton of pepper in them, which I don't mind, but it was odd. Ingredients felt very cheap and cheese wasn't even melted on top of my "omelette". The ambiance was also a little odd. I come to this spot pretty often because the food and service are usually great. The staff has always been friendly, and it's one of those local places that feels comfortable and consistent. But during my last visit, I saw something that really didn't sit right with me. A couple at a nearby table asked their server for something simple, and the way she reacted came off rude and dismissive. You could feel how uncomfortable it made the whole table -- honestly, even a few people around seemed to notice. It's rare to see that kind of attitude here, which is why it stood out. I've always liked this place, but I hope management addresses situations like that. Found this breakfast restaurant after the wifey and I did our weekly stop by the Redlands Farmer's Market. Food was amazing I would like to add. Everything on the menu is worth the try. Portions are large compared to other places I have been to. My go to meal is the Meathead Tom-Omolette which is very delicious, while the wifey loves their steak and eggs with a side of biscuits and gravy. Our servers were the best. After coming here a few times our faces were known. Sometimes it's about a 30 min wait to be seated but definitely worth the wait. What's so different about this spot is the fact the service is fast, consistent and always ready ro refill your champagne glasses and and coffee. As for the restaurant layout, I love it. It reminds me of country diners that provides real down home ambiance. As for parking, you may have to park on the street or a parking lot adjacent to the restaurant.
