    Regular Loco moco
    Amelea J.

Nice, mom and pop joint. Their service is friendly and it hits home here. I would come again to get regular breakfast. Waffles were delish as probably would they the loco moco again. I think the loco moco has good flavor and the beef was cooked good. The only negative thing I would say is the rice tasted like rice pilaf with veggies. If it was just white rice, then I would order it again. - I didn't ask them if that was an option, maybe it is.

Eggs Benedict and delicious cup of coffee

Eggs Benedict my favorite always comfort meal Server was pleasant and prompt Ambiance is just right for the mood Wife wasn't very hungry so I asked for an extra plate to share my meal. I must be behind the times because I was surprised that I was going to have to pay an extra $2.00 then I even more surprised to get a discount on my entire order. Left there content and totally satisfied

Updated review: Getting served by Maddie and Teresa again. This place is clean and is now officially my go to spot in Redlands for a country breakfast. Pancakes are huge. Good coffee served here, and I haven't had a bad choice on the menu. Span and eggs was an easy choice for me.

2 levels to this building and parking faces a door that doesn't open and you need To go up and around the corner to get in. Country music playing. Sign at the register has a chicken saying "I poop breakfast ". They give you 1 napkin. Waitress Lea was great - she loved the food and the area and had a warm smile. I got the crab cake Benedict. It was ok - I didn't love the sauce - it was slightly sweet. I will try the other Benedict's in my next visit. The made their own potato salad and coleslaw. They brew their own tea. The ranch is homemade.

It was the afternoon and we were craving breakfast, but our go-to spot, Carolyn Café, had already closed their waitlist. A good friend recommended Breakfast Shack, and after seeing their loco moco on Yelp, we were sold! We arrived about an hour before closing, hungry but with enough time to relax and decide. We were seated right away, and I ordered an orange juice--something I rarely do. To my surprise, it was delicious and super refreshing. For meals, our family ordered the Whole Farm, Breakfast Burrito, Loco Moco, and Croissant Sandwich. We were starving, but the portions were generous, and everything tasted great. The standout favorites were definitely the pancake and the loco moco. We'll definitely be back, though probably order a little less next time since we had so much leftover. For four people, the bill came out to about $20-$25 per person, which feels pretty reasonable these days. Service was solid, too--they kept our drinks refilled on what was a very hot day, and we appreciated it!

This place was really good my friend and I stopped by for a quick breakfast before driving back to San Diego. Typical breakfast spot ambiance not too quiet not too loud. Service was prompt, it was busy what looks to be lots of regulars that the waiters know which is always a good sign. And the food came out quick and was really good and they brought us all our requests for extra butter, etc no problem! Although it's mentioned parking can be tricky there was plenty of street parking when we went.

Hatch chile Benedict with hash browns
    Grace R.

We always go to the breakfast shack when we're in Redlands. On our most recent visit, we ordered a classic Benedict and a hatch chile Benedict. We've had the classic Benedict before, and it comes with three beautifully poached eggs and lots of hollandaise. Either they were out of their normal breakfast potatoes or they've changed them, but they were thinly sliced and a teeny bit soggy, not the chunks of potato we were expecting. The hatch chile Benedict was amazing. Lots of pork, sauce, and chile with crispy hash browns. It was a little disappointing that this one didn't also come with three eggs, only two, so it wasn't a perfect ratio. Some form of bread would've been nice too, as it's just breaded chiles at the base.

I'm done, can't do this anymore

Went for breakfast. Got breakfast. Eggs were uncooked whites. Pancakes were big yet underwhelming. Coffee was hot. OJ was cold. I regret having passed up the free Marriott breakfast for this. Oh well, not every choice is a good choice.

Me and brother visited for the 1st time. We were warmly greeted and sat promptly. Love how this place looks inside with many different seating options. Chris Stapleton playing in the background a plus. I ordered the corned beef hash with country potatoes and scrambled eggs. Also ordered the cinnamon roll bread pudding. Corned beef hash is not canned which is a plus. It wasn't the best hash I've had but way better than the canned. Eggs were scrambled nicely and loved country potatoes. The star of the show is the bread pudding not too sweet and does remind you of a cinnamon roll. A must get. My brother ordered chicken fried steak and he loved it. Definitely a place to try.

    Decor is solid and inviting

Food was hot and tasty and decent prices. The decor was solid and the breezy open window patio bar was nice. The service was extra personable and genuinely nice. No honey mustard dressing for my chicken & waffles but they did serve ranch and offered to buffalo it up spicy for me. Waffles were fresh & fluffy & crispy just how I like them. My spouse enjoyed the ham steak and eggs with toast and the breakfast potatoes were so tasty I ate some too! They were cooked perfectly. Everything was super clean! Now a Pet Peeve of mine that I see in pretty much every bathroom I go to in public places: TOILET PAPER ROLLS NOT ON THE SPOOL! BUT ALSO ON THE SPOOL! Welcome to my TedX talk: Just, WHY?! Why is it so hard?! If the roll drops on the floor, then we are wiping with live unkillable Norovirus that gives everyone explosive diarrhea & vomiting! Or everyone gets a UTI! The flat edge of toilet paper rolls is never supposed to touch germy hands or floors or walls or the metal handrail! Why do people think this is normal? Why is it so hard to just unlock the dispenser and put the roll on there and lock it back up? Did everyone lose their key?! This place also had toilet paper in the dispenser so no need to dirty the t.p. on the toilet tank. It was hard to reach though. I'd say just more the wall dispenser closer. I'm seriously going to put this message on every loose roll establishment until we see a change! Thank you for listening to my rant.

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We enjoyed our one cocktail each here and just had great conversation. It was a fun night because of the company, and also because we had a little adventure going to two amazing places!

We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

Truly baffling…read more This place is tucked into a quiet South Redlands neighborhood, surrounded by old Victorian homes and lush lawns, and it feels like a tiny European corner café just... existing quietly and beautifully. Inside is all reclaimed wood and cozy tables, people working on laptops, the coolest Redlands City Limits sign, kids flipping through board games and books in the corner, soft chatter, good energy. Pro tip: get in line as soon as you get there because it fills up fast and the line can absolutely go out the door. I had the chai latte (so good), a cheese danish (dangerous), and an Everlasting Ferments kombucha...the Habanero Ginger is a sleeper hit. You can also snag breakfast burritos if you're lucky (they sell out), or freshly made stuffed waffles from a vendor outside, which somehow makes the whole experience feel extra charming. There are cute little café tables all around and a tucked-away, walled patio in the back that's perfect for bigger groups. Already planning future coffee dates. Late to the party, but fully committed now!
