Let me begin by unequivocally saying that the food here is DELICIOUS and there is no other restaurant in the area that does it like El Chapo! Restaurant is always super clean. Also, the outstanding service with attentive and pleasant servers--at first was the draw. Let me get the two negative aspects out of the way before I continue with the very good. We became regulars here beginning August 2019 and we came here every week, if not twice a week for the months following, but then in October we noticed a most unfortunate trend: we would come to the restaurant at posted business hours (10-9 weekdays; 10-10 weekends) and the restaurant was closed on numerous occasions at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm. The other downside is that the attentive nature of the servers took a dive. we began to notice on several visits the waitresses were not as attentive with the tables. They took VERY long pauses between checking on the table bringing food, drinks, etc. When I brought this to their attention during at least two visits, they said that the owner required them to do many tasks in "back of the house" so they weren't as aware of "front of the house." I personally brought both of these issues to the owner's attention in two of my recent visits. I'm hoping these issues are genuinely corrected because we want to continue regularly patronizing the restaurant we "fell in love with" for its amazing seafood dishes, tasty drinks, and exemplary service.
