5-Star Review Jenny's Diner has quickly become one of my favorite local breakfast spots! If you're looking for a classic American diner with generous portions, friendly service, and fair prices, this is it. My mom ordered the Lite Breakfast, and I had Jenny's Country Breakfast. Everything was cooked just right--the eggs were perfect, the hash browns were crispy, the bacon and sausage were flavorful, and the toast was buttery and fresh. The coffee kept coming, and our total for two breakfasts and two coffees was only about $29 before tip, which is hard to beat these days. The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a neighborhood diner--red booths, checkerboard floors, Route 66 décor, vintage license plates, and a welcoming hometown feel. You can tell this is a place where regulars come to catch up over breakfast. Most importantly, the staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. We'll definitely be back. Love, love, love a classic diner. Not just a themed one, but one that exists as it is, almost untouched by the trenches of time. It's SoCal's only mom and pop 50's diner that's not part of some larger franchise or owned by big corpo (at least that's what I assume). Interior distinctly has the charm of a roadside diner with the 50's themed framed portraits, black and white checkered floors and the splash of red throughout. Some roadside charm to it too with license plates on the wall and the good ol' Route 66 sign. We only got to stop by quickly since we got take out as the rest of our group was still asleep, but this made for a great later brunch, probably actually lunch at this point. It's standard diner food, greasy pick me up for hungry and exhausted or hung over people or if you want something to tide you over before you hit the road. Either way, our food came out quickly and packed very nicely. Portions are quite generous and although it's not the highest quality of food (fries got styrofoamy a tad too fast and some of the meat was dry), nothing some ketchup and sauce didn't fix and the spaghetti and fish were actually pretty good. This is your classic, busy local diner. The walls are decorated with license plates and old Hollywood pictures that give this spot a charming retro vibe. The food is affordable and comes out quick, hot and in big portions. The menu is filled with the familiar favorites you would expect from an American diner with 50s charm. SERVICE: The servers here are mostly long-timers that are great and very friendly. They get you your food without any nonsense! So tip them well!! FOOD: Typical diner food, but actually good. This is a 3.5, as I thought the food was OK. The bacon was tough and eggs cold. There were 5 of us and we were seated promptly. Lots of cool booths with the retro feel. Coffee was Ok but it was nice and hot. My kid had a half of French toast and she ate it all. Another with French toast and bacon, hardly ate anything. Th last ordered strawberry pancakes, ate two. My husband had eggs over easy, hash browns, English muffin and a rather large piece of ham. He had some leftovers. I had waffle, eggs and bacon. This place is definitely a great classic diner and must try. I've been here 3 times now and everything I've tried comes out great. I've had a veggie omelet, I've had the French Toast, and today I have the waffle and eggs. The waffle was a touch softer than I like but It was good. My mom has tried the patty melt, and the biscuits and gravy and she lives it all The ambiance is a beautiful decorative dinner with Route 66 vibes and and classic diner furniture. It's spacious and clean and the busser is always making rounds to clean The servers and hosts are always friendly and welcoming and I've never had to wait to be seated. They are always good to check in on us if we need extra coffee or water and they always get our order to perfection. Again, you definitely want to come here and try Jenny's out. The food and service was amazing but the owner is the worst. As soon as we were seated he started yelling and cussing at the cooks. I got really pissed off that I couldn't enjoy my food. I really felt uncomfortable and I am pretty sure he started yelling and cussing at them in Spanish because he probably thought that we didn't understand Spanish. Everything tastes good here!! Their chicken friend steak is on point. I absolutely love their combination omelette. Their pancakes are the fluffiest I've ever had and delicious. Even their coffee is good! There's so many other dishes I want to try there. But, as a creature of habit, I usually seem to think about the last thing I ate from Jenny's and start craving for that! But, I see that they have a pastrami burger! I love those too!! I certainly look forward to trying it! There will, most definitely, be a next time when I order from Jenny's! Very pleasant staff. Liver and onions were good. However, I should have ordered a baked potato instead of mash potatoes. The mash potatoes were awful. Heard about this establishment and decided to stop by to try it. Upon being seated, I mentioned to the waitress that there was a tip left on the table. She responded, "As long as you don't take it," which I felt was unnecessary and unprofessional. After sitting down, I noticed the seating was sticky and visibly stained. The menus were also sticky on the outside and appeared to have dried soda inside. Additionally, the walls showed signs of decay, and the overall condition of the dining area appeared poorly maintained. Due to the lack of cleanliness, I lost my appetite. This place was a perfect find after a 30 mile, 2 day hike over the mountains. We wanted food on our way back from Angeles Oaks to Santa Monica and Jenny's showed up on the search. There wasn't much open at 8pm where we could have breakfast for dinner and Jenny's came to the rescue. The food was great! We ordered the French toast special, breakfast burrito, omelette, grilled cheese, and a side of chicken tenders with buffalo sauce. All the food was delicious and perfect to recharge after two days of hiking. It is a cool classic diner vibe with TONS of tables inside and out and vintage decor and license plates throughout. The servers were friendly and the food came out very welcomed. We even were able to watch a bit of the Olympics on the sparsely placed tvs. Highly recommended post trail or anytime. Check out the Hamburger Special at Jenny's for $6.99, which includes a delicious loaded hamburger, seasoned fries and a drink. We chose to add a dinner salad and share it for an extra 3+ dollars. The dinner salad had fresh cucumbers and tomatoes and fresh blue cheese dressing. It was so yummy. You can substitute onion rings or fried zucchini for french fries for an xtra $1.50.
