Recently we had the opportunity to be going through San Saba on business and, per the referral of a friend here in San Angelo, we sought out your restaurant. I would like to say that the food was fantastic and the service was excellent. I have had occasions in San Angelo, where we live, of much worse service and not as good a quality of food. The service is usually very good and I have never had a bad meal here, whether it was mexican or American. It has always been really good.

This place is cool. I eat here with my parents a lot when I visit them. I've only had bad service here one time, but the waiter was new and didn't make it long at all. The food is great. Personally, I like the fajitas. Mom likes the chicken enchiladas. Dad orders the quesadillas and tacos al pastor. They also make mom and I fresh coffee to go with dinner or supper. read more

Being from San Saba, it is good to see businesses in that town do well. I went there for the first time the other day and was pleasantly satisfied. I went with my family. We ordered the Carne Guisada plate, The Catfish Plate, The fried Shrimp plate and the Super Nachos. All were really good The meats were all cooked perfectly and were very tender. I sampled everyone's meals. The only constructive criticisms, poiners, i could give is that the wait staff did not clear our dirty plates until i asked them to, which is fine overall I am not that much of an ass, and the tortilla chips for the Super Nachos were very thin. My wife likes that kind of chip, for me, they fall apart to easily. Again merely small things, not really counting against the restaurant. On a side note.......The fried cheesecake was pretty damn good, they may want to consider adding real whipped cream or ice cream to it to take it over the top. Great food and service. Best catfish I've had in a long time. We had a large group and everyone enjoyed their food.

Clean and friendly restaurant. We had the catfish lunch and it was perfect. Catfish lovers know that all catfish is not equal, in quality or preparation. These were good pieces of fish perfectly fried. There is a salad bar, small but very fresh. The restaurant is in an old building across from the courthouse. The interior layout runs almost the full length of the building so the waitstaff has a lot of ground to cover and you may need to flag them down. However, they are very courteous and responsive. read more

This is a good little place to eat if you are in the area. They have pecan cobbler that is to die for and good chips and salsa.

We stopped in this cute place, just passing through town. The first thing we noticed was that their tea tastes really good. The chips are light and crispy, and the tacos al carbon and cheese enchiladas were a unanimous hit! We'll be back! read more

The service here is horrible. Refills on drinks or chips take a long time. They don't know the difference between a lime or lemon. We asked for a cheeseburger and it came out with no cheese. We informed the waitress and she brought out the slice of cheese for us to put on ourselves. The food here is equivalent to bar food. Nothing spectacular here. Save yourself some $$$ and cook it yourself. read more

Stopped by here for lunch on July 10th 2011 and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely restaurant downtown across from the courthouse. Excellent service and delicious food. I had the enchiladas, which were very good and even the rice and beans were great. Sometimes those seem to be kind of blah but not here. The salsa was also really good! Food was cold and bland. Got my son a kids taco and he wouldn't even eat if after one bite because it had no taste. Got the chalupas with fajita meat, it is just precooked frozen meat, barely heated up with a couple pieces of cheese and bland beans. Server charged double for the fajita meat and charged me for kids drink (when it clearly says it was suppose to come with the meal on the kids menu) she stared at it for a good minute and rolled her eyes and said she'd take it off. We really like most all the things on the menu, & service has always been great. Advice to all - see all reviews. Some good ones are not shown at first look. And to Ken R. you said the salad was small, but why? since the customer gets all they can put on a plate & then they can go back again. And to Luis R. you said bar food? The menu is full of good choices & they do a good job preparing those. And to Joy R. the salsa is made fresh - I checked. It's very good salsa. Stopped by on a Friday evening for the "all you can eat" catfish. The place was jam packed, and we had to wait about 10 minutes for a table, then we had to wait another 15-20 minutes on the fish. It was superb, and well worth the wait! read more

A friend and I visited this establishment this morning. There were approx 5 tables/booths that had people sitting at them. We ordered breakfast and I had asked the my eggs be cooked over well. Ten minutes later our waitress comes to the table and ask me what over well eggs are because she and the cook have no clue what they are. My friend and I just looked at one another with a what the Hell look on our faces. We get our food about 25 minutes later and our waitress tells me that they ran out of sausage so she took the liberty of substituting bacon instead. Oh how nice. I rarely write reviews for anything whether they be good or bad, however this place and experience positively sucked so bad that I couldn't let it go. Next time I'll go to the Sonic. At least it will be cheaper, faster and they'll get the order correct. read more
