I question the cleanliness here. On my visit there I was facing the door leading to the kitchen and it was filthy. Not just a bit, but like it took quite a while to get that dirty. Your server is going through that door, pushing it open with the same hand that serves your food. I also wonder why nobody working there has noticed how dirty it is and what the kitchen looks like! Came by for the 1st time when we went to Park Ridge Diner and they weren't open yet at 7:15AM on a Sat? We were welcomed in and seated by the owner. Coffee and tea we out quickly and them a surprise pancake with blueberries was brought to my wife and I- delicious by the way. Western omelet was Great and potatoes for 2. Great diner! The food is always good and fresh. The staff is professional, courteous and very friendly. They make sure your coffee cup is always full and check in on you often without being annoying or making you feel rushed. Some of our favorites include the avocado toast with poached eggs-real avocado not the premade stuff on whole wheat bread. Also the fried chicken is better than most places, it's crispy and flavorful. The Greek dishes, rice pudding and soups are really good too. As far as the place itself, it's always clean and comfortable. All for a very pleasant dining experience. read more

After today's "experience" at the Pearl River diner, I can no longer recommend it. One of the challenges is that none of the wait staff speaks english. My last trips there I was able to manage that by pointing to what I wanted, but today it was just unbelievable. On their lunch menu they had Chicken Fajitas for $15.99. Ice cream is included with the lunch special. I ask for the check and hand them my American express card without looking. Waitress brings back the Amex and asks; what bank is that? like Chase? (this in very broken english). I try to explain it isn't a bank but a credit card, but she didn't understand. Then I looked at what they charged my amex: $34 and change. They not only charged me $25 for the fajitas, they charged me for the ice cream. I call the manager over. Even HE doesn't speak english. He goes and checks the menu and sees that I'm right. But he couldn't figure out how to credit my credit card. So I said, just bring me the change. I sat there for 10 minutes while he tried to figure it out. Then he brings me back $11. I tell him, he owes me $13 and change. I even subtract it for him. Then I give up and say, give the rest of my change to the waitress as a tip. I will never ever be back. Guys: get your act together. Was in the neighborhood and not familiar with area offerings. Looked up on YELP and this diner came up with good reviews and it was just a couple blocks away. We were the only ones inside at this off hour and were seated quickly by a very pleasant server. I went with one of the days specials, the brisket , it was on the backside of the specials menu. The entree came with a choice of soup or salad. I chose the soup, beef barley. Server asked if we would like some bread and butter and returned with a nicely heated basket of bread. The soup was nicely flavored and served hot! Entree was exactly as pictured, sliced brisket served with a rich gravy, with tasty mashed potatoes and not over cooked green beans. It was as hoped it would be - delicious! I finished my plate of the tender tasty meat and ordered dessert! Bread pudding that had a nice custardy bottom, with raisins and whipped cream. It was yummy! I went there for dinner with my children. Where each of us was able to order to our liking. The children's menu was sufficient and eight dollars per meal including a scoop ice cream. The chicken fingers came with three and french fries, the mozzarella sticks came with three and french fries; the fries are battered and then fried. Another one ordered corn beef hash and eggs and strangely they gave her an additional side of hashbrowns, we ordered whole wheat toast and it came out with white toast. My dinner was lovely. I ordered my own meal consisting of grilled chicken, sautéed spinach, and a baked potato. All were seasoned well. The servers (we had 2), were attentive friendly and kind to the kids, even when they were a bit noisy. (We we're the only customers in the restaurant but at least 4 separate orders were picked up.) I am not writing this to badmouth the place, but they should have never done what they did. As a paying customer, I was very unhappy with Pearl River Diner's Lasagna on Feb 6/2023. The menue shows Homemade Lasagna for $19.99, I thought great deal; let's check this out. The restaurant is not Italian, so my expectations were not crazy standards. These people had the balls the serve a Haitian Chef Boyardee with a pavement of cheese on top. I used a phone to double check my findings and sure enough it was. How F'ed up is that? I would be tolerant of bad lasgna from a non Italian restaurant, but freakin can food for $19.99, that's wrong. I hate can food and I am very familiar with that metalic flavor, and the after-taste that won't go away. I hope this review prevents this from happening to somone else. If the Lasagna is not made by the restaurant at the restaurant, state that so customers can make an informed decision. read more

This was honestly a very nice place. The food was tasty, the waiters spoke english and spanish, but the environment wasn't anything special. The walls are orange and there are some photos of flowers and wine on a wall. The bathrooms were also clean and had a paper taped above the toilet suggesting what you should have for dinner. Before we were handed our breakfast, the waitresses brought out a quarter of a waffle for each person on our table. The slice was decently sized, was drizzled in caramel and strawberry syrup and had a few dollops of whipped cream on the plate. It was very tasty, and i felt it was the perfect texture. I had a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with.. a side of bacon. (Don't judge me) The sandwich was tasty and was decently sized too, i'd say maybe around 6 or 7 inches. The bacon was also very good. I also ordered a strawberry milkshake. The shake was perfectly thick and had whipped cream and strawberry syrup on top, but it felt a little too filling. It's very good and you should definitely try this place, atleast once. This will be my second and last review in New York because i'm going back to Florida today. read more

You can barely call this place a restaurant! We came here on a Saturday morning for some breakfast. There's no hostess stand and we weren't sure whether or not we should seat ourselves. After a bit of a long awkward wait we picked a table (which I had to brush off because it was dirty). We found ourselves some paper take out menus (since no one brought us menus) so that we could figure out what we wanted to order. Our waitress finally came (I'm pretty sure she was the only one working) and brought us some coffee in white mugs that were dirty with coffee stains. The food wasn't bad, but the service and the general state of the diner left a lot to be desired. Half of the chairs had ripped seats and the television screen was super distorted. We definitely will not be returning here. There are a lot of other great diners in the area. Not sure how this one survives. read more

Just had the best lunch here. It's a happy place, the staff is amazing and attentive. I had the Patty melt deluxe. It was so big I took half of it home and the french fries were so good. My Husband had the pork chop Marsala special with sautéed spinach. It was cooked to perfection and he loved all of it. The wait staff was efficient, nice, and attentive. The chicken and rice soup and beef barley soup were both good. Cheese burger was cooked to correct tmeperature (I ordered it medium) but had a strange seasoning. Fries were the kind that are coated in flour and/or starch before frying which are not to my liking. I steared clear of the tiny cup of cole slaw topped by a single pickle slice that appeared to be browning around the edges. My wife's chicken souvlaki was also lackluster. All in all, nothing was awful, but nothing except for the soups rose above merely edible. read more
