    Wedge salad with grilled chicken
    Lisa B.

So I am reluctantly giving this restaurant three stars. I say reluctantly because they tried hard to be attentive, but fell short and the food, while priced like a high end steakhouse also fell short and this is why. First the positives. Lovely atmosphere. The staff was polite and kind. The manager stopped by to chat and check in. The folks with me who ate the strip steak enjoyed it. It was tasty and cooked perfectly as they requested. That's good considering it IS a steakhouse. The negatives. It is not always the case that everyone in the party likes steak or likes every steak. So a good steakhouse will do the other options exceptionally well too. Particularly the meat. Here, they did not. I like ribeye. That's my favorite. They only offer a 24 oz ribeye, however, and since none of my peeps wanted ribeye (curses on them) I was up a creek. I don't like strip or filet. Didn't want pork. But I do LOVE a wedge salad, and few places have one. Steakhouses generally do. So I was quite happy to have one. Until I had it. They did not do it well. At all. First, the bacon... while it clearly began as a few lovely generous lardons, ended up four over cooked, hard as rocks bacon chunks. The chicken was dry and terribly overcooked. Hard on the edges. I would expect a steakhouse to get the grilled chicken breast correct. And the bacon is inexcusable. When the salad costs $30, you have to nail it. Could I have sent it back? I'm sure I could have. But looking at the neighbors' table, theirs looked the same so I figured what's the point. And I didn't want to be a Karen about a salad in a steakhouse. And I wasn't holding up my table's meal for a redo on a salad. At the end of the day, if you don't get something this simple correct, it is a fail. I'm sorry to say that. Truly. But it requires addressing. There are too many other options for good steak that do these non-steak elements right too.

My father and I enjoyed my meal here very much. I had a steak cooked to perfection. It was delicious. Tender and juicy. My dad had the pasta special and he raved about it. It did look wonderful. The pasta was clearly fresh not dried. The tomato sauce looked very nice. The bread was fresh and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Just how you want Italian bread. It is up there in price, but aren't all steakhouses now? The point is - you will get your money's worth here.

i want to love this place. but my most recent visit was just okay. I'm going to try again soon though. first I have to say the renovation to the interior is GORGEOUS. I love the ambiance of this place. the staff are superbly attentive and I really appreciate that. we ordered cocktails and they were very tasty. the food however - was just ok. a little bland. maybe it was an off night. Definitely I will give it another try.

Food A+ Ambiance B+ Service A+ Ordered porterhouse, ny strip, penne vodka, fried cauliflower, and several desserts. Everything was amazing, steak was perfectly cooked with a nice ring! Kid approved pasta! Not a big dessert guy but they were phenomenal! Grand slam ice cream was amazing and the chocolate layer cake would recommend! Ambiance is a bit loud as there no segregation between the bar and dining room however not too loud that you can't have a convo. Service amazing, Fabio is an incredible manager. He engaged every table and made the experience incredible. Chads first night was a busy one but he did a great job! Anytime someone recommends a restaurant I am skeptical and usually disappointed! This far exceed my expectations! It will now be in a regular rotation for our family!

Wanted somewhere different tonight and all my research brought me here and I'm so happy with my decision. Quaint old Victorian house made into a old school steak house. Welcomed so warm and they sat us at a perfect table in the bar room. Started with cauliflower app that was scrumptious came with a great sauce. Shared a plate of basil pesto gnocchi omggggg soft light pillows of heaven. Buddy order dozen oysters and he said they were super fresh. I ordered a New York strip that was a huge piece of cooked perfectly meat. So crusty outside and super pink inside. Buddy ordered a cowboy that could choke a horse. The girls ordered cheeseburgers that they said where the best ever had. They had a chunk of bacon on top that was like a piece of steak. After all the delectable food we made room for desserts. All were great but what stole the show were there zeppoles they were so soft like heavenly angels Came with a chocolate dipping sauce. Have to say this was one best steak houses I've been to in a while. Yes. Real your piggy bank but it's worth it for sure Valet parking always a good touch. This is a must go. Good for occasions

Sure I love sushi, but if it tastes fishy, it's bad fish and growing up in Norway on boiled fish and an evil concoction called Lutefisk. I haven't been a big fan of the seafood scene here in the tri-state. This placed changed my mind. The first time here our waitress, Beth made sure we knew what was fresh and popular for the evening. Throw in the fact that the owner Ralph and his mom checked in on us that we were happy with our dinners made this a great over the top local place. Food: For appetizers I had the escargot. It was amazing. Not your standard escargot in a standard scalloped dish with a small dash of garlic and butter, but a bowl consisting of a wonderful broth of escargot, garlic, butter and accompanied with toasted baguette slices. Mains: My wife ordered the "Codfather"consisting of cod, shrimp and scallops. Let's just say I made sure to keep my arms and hands on my side of the table and not attempt to try a sample from her plate with the fear of losing a digit. I ordered the fish and chips. Hey! It's fried, can't go wrong as a non-fish eater going with this route. Nope. Beyond my expectations. My last best fish and chips was at the famous take away at the Borough Market in London. This version? Fresh Cod, well done fries, homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw, just saved me the airfare to the UK. We have all ready been back twice. It is our new fave.

This past weekend, we had a chance to experience something a little different -- a private event my cousin hosted there for his 30th birthday -- and it was fantastic. The event was a seated, sit-down dinner at the market, which isn't something they typically do, but they executed it really well. The evening started with passed appetizers (all delicious, as expected) and a table full of charcuterie. For dinner, my cousin opted for a seated "steak sampling" experience -- almost Brazilian steakhouse-style -- featuring tastings of five different cuts. There was also shrimp scampi served family-style, along with sides like roasted potatoes. Even with varying preferences for steak doneness across the group, they did an impressive job accommodating everyone. Huge props to the B&M team for pulling off something outside their usual offerings so seamlessly. This was my first time in the market itself, and it looked great -- clearly a great destination for quality meats and prepared foods. If I lived closer, I'd absolutely be a regular and would use them for catering for myself. Looking forward to more events with their food in the future!

Exceptional Catering for Our Dinner!…read more I recently used B&M Market in Park Ridge to cater a Dinner for 10, and I can confidently say they overdelivered on every level. From the ordering process to the presentation to the flavors, everything was absolutely top-notch. I also have to give a huge shoutout to the owner, Jon, who was phenomenal to work with from start to finish. Jon took the time to help me build out the perfect menu, offered thoughtful suggestions, and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. His responsiveness and attention to detail really set B&M apart, you can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in the food his team puts out. We kicked off the night with a fantastic spread of hors d'oeuvres. The sushi platter was fresh and beautifully presented, and the homemade guacamole with warm, crispy tortilla chips was a standout. The apple smoked bacon in honey chipotle sauce disappeared almost instantly; smoky, sweet, and addictive. The spinach & artichoke puffs were flaky and flavorful, and the bacon-wrapped shrimp tasted like something you'd get at a high-end restaurant. For entrees, everything arrived well-seasoned, and perfectly portioned along with serving/heating instructions. The Bell & Evans chicken parmesan in vodka sauce was a crowd favorite, tender, not overly breaded, and the sauce was rich without being heavy. The prime all-natural skirt steak with scallion sauce was the star. Cooked beautifully and packed with flavor. The pasta dishes, 4-cheese baked ziti and the orecchiette with Italian sausage, spinach, and light red sauce, were both excellent and tasted homemade. The Caesar salad, steamed string beans, and cheesy garlic bread rounded out the meal perfectly. Dessert was a refreshing fresh fruit salad, which was a great balance after the hearty main courses. What impressed me most was the consistency. Every single item was fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Combined with Jon's personal involvement and guidance, the experience was exceptional from beginning to end. If you're hosting an event of any size, B&M Market should be at the top of your list. They helped make our dinner a hit, and I'll absolutely be using them again.

I had driven by once or twice and was contemplating entering the establishment myself; however, I have a keen sense for these types of locals and I felt I had to wait for an invite as such I eventually received. I was correct in my estimation, as my final determination of this spot... of which I'll get to... is that I'd walk (not run) back and would be willing to give it another guy for another event. The ambiance is quite remarkable for a Pub Flex+ type of joint. Double jointed with two floors, flexed into a bar upon entry, booths and high tables throughout... this place is quite bright and cheery. It feels like it can fit an entire hall until it actually had to... in which such a large space felt like it had been cranked by an f and cuddled a family of orphan dogs. For a gastropub the menu was short, yet sweet. I could've probably ordered anything on the menu and felt like I got an above average meal. I got the 4 leaves burger which was indeed a very above average burger accompanied by above average fries. Their duty was dutiful but did not have me barging over barrels for more. Nor did it for others, although everyone seemed to enjoy their meals in a bright and professional environment. As for lunch or dinner? I'd only come back again for work. But I've got a hinker, or maybe a tinker, that brunch in here would be quite nice. The day will come when I try it and I hope to be able to bring back better news than above average. LB usually doesn't do above average... as you know. But sometimes I like to make the unsung swan feel like a bell of a ball. What a guy. Four leaves. Oh if you come for me at the top, you will reach an abyss so deep you may end up digging to China. Don't test me. I'm not that guy. Anyways, I've tried a lot from Azteca. Most of what they've got is a 4/4.5 out of 5 but I'm rounding up for the full experience. Phenomenal price point. Variety of food that all comes out well. Performs well in restaurant and when the food travels. Friendly staff. And local business of which I support. I suffer from GGS - Good Guy Syndrome, sorry not sorry. My motha, bless her soul. I legit mean bless her soul. Be nice. Pray. Bow down to her. She doesn't eat much food but she even loved the taco salad here so much that she asked to go again. So much protein, so well seasoned. Just as their other options showcase as well. My personal favs are the Kash Burrito and the, what I'd call "trademark" Cod Burrito. Never have seen it elsewhere like this. The wrap is toasted wonderfully, great rice, great salsa. I mean this place just does it real well. I've had tacos, appetizers, desserts. Never let down. El Azteca is consistently good. Constantly pushing out quality product. Is it the best Mexican I've had? No. But it's the most underrated. Being a consistent 4, makes you a five in my books. It's like that girl that's occasionally a 6 or occasionally an 9... you can't bring her home. But that girl that's consistently a 7 or an 8? You let her meet the fam. I don't where I'm going with this one. All I'll say is STOP. Stop going to Chipotle, Bubbakoo's, etc. when you could be supporting a better quality and friendlier priced location in El Azteca. Thank you in advance. I will be watching - LB.

I welcome its studs up challenge and continue to dribble until I can no longer not acknowledge the aura of Apollo's chariot. - I don't recognize Helios as my Sun god, deal with it. - I check my meagerly checking account and my minute wallet and decide "F it" I've not got but do got a few buccaroons to spare as I continue to wheel around for the cheddar in this rat race we call life. In doing so - I notice a certain extensive tingle in my tummy. One that calls for mass amounts of food. In tandem, the shining sun begs me to bask in its warmth. I need to find some food. Sit in a park. Devour said park. And take a long enough lunch that somebody, somewhere, somehow thinks of me. Once that occurs, I will return between the rock and the hard place of which sits a desk, a chair, brittle bones and a big but battered heart. With my pension for poppin' sandwich and my expertise of my surround areas - radius of 45 mins in all direction - I half-conclude on Pop Empanada for my stroll, toll and roll. - TM'ing that don't even think about taking that line. Actually do think about it. And think about how you've never come up with something that original. This is in writing, I'm the first, I'm the last, I'm your everything. - Anyways, I take an 8 min drive out to a lot nearby and stumble in upon my order. The empanadas are solid, shrimp one is superior. Haven't tried them all. Not crying home to mama about em' but that's not the star of the show so it doesn't matter. I haven't tried everything and definitely should. But every time I'm feeling like I need to challenge my bowels I go straight for this Cuban Sandwich. My oh my. This thing may weigh 5 pounds. Packed to the brim. Sturdy bread. I mean it's literally one of the biggest boys I've ever corralled. It's tasty, tender, savory and sweet. Crunchy, chewy, choppy and neat. This would feed a normal man for an entire day. I, to no surprise of the reader, am not a normal man. By the end of munching on this crunching I'm panting and sweating and clenching my chest. My cholesterol spike so high that a doctor wouldn't even be able to help. By 75% of sandwich completion I don't even want the rest. It's just my hard wired protocol that this whole pups gotta hit the pound. I just gotsss to complete my task. This is probably the best Cuban I've ever had - in sandwich form... if you catch my straits of Florida drift. For the price, it is one of the best bang for buck sandwiches I've ever had. Highly recommend you give Pop Empanada a go. On a sunny mid week afternoon there's a hot chance you'll catch me reviving myself from a heart attack on the bench in the park only a stone throws away. Don't to try help me. It's all part of my sick game. Love you, babes, have a beautiful day - LB.

If you know, you know... but if you don't, make it a priority to find out…read more That Supper Club is something special. What Tommy Greco, Chef Nicolas Pescatore, and their team are putting together here goes well beyond a typical night out. It feels curated, intentional, and genuinely exciting from start to finish. From the moment we sat down, the energy was right. The service was dialed in without being overbearing, and every course felt like it had a purpose. The tasting menu that night was a full experience, layered with creativity and bold flavor combinations that somehow all worked effortlessly. We started with a Snack Trio that set the tone immediately. Grilled mahi mahi with Aleppo pepper and charred lemon delivered bright, smoky notes. A rich foie gras with rhubarb jam on toasted milk bread struck the perfect balance of sweet and savory. The prawn toast on brioche with sesame, miso, and panko brought crunch and depth in every bite. The red snapper ceviche followed, incredibly fresh and vibrant, with yuzu lime, serrano, and green strawberry adding a unique twist that elevated the entire dish. Then came a stretch of courses that really showed off the kitchen's range. The tender greens with mortadella yakitori brought unexpected flavors together seamlessly. The caramelized onion casoncello with a light spicy vodka sauce, mascarpone, and prosciutto was rich yet balanced. The ramp lasagna bianco with white bolognese and béchamel was pure comfort, elevated to another level. For dessert, the strawberry rhubarb tartlet closed things out beautifully. Amaretto custard, toasted meringue, dark chocolate shell, olive oil, and sea salt created the perfect sweet finish without feeling heavy. We also added a couple of extras that were absolutely worth it. The East Coast oysters with lacto fermented melon mignonette were incredibly fresh and bright, and the 40 day dry aged filet mignon with house made NamJim Kosho was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Bottom line, this is not just dinner, it is an experience. The creativity, execution, and hospitality are all on point. We will definitely be back very soon because there is still so much more we want to explore and experience here. What makes it even more impressive is how they transform a humble empanada shop into such a refined and decadent dining experience. The ambiance was just right, intimate, elevated, and perfectly suited for a night like this.
