My family and I went to Ocean Shores for the Fourth of July and decided to try this place on the way out of town. Since we had a long ride home we decided to get coffee and hot donuts for the way home. The line was out the door and after about 7 minutes we were finally helped. We placed our order and an irritated employee took over 20 minutes to fry 24 mini donuts and make a couple of coffees. Ultimately she told me that my order was not complete because she accidentally dropped a donut and it would take another minute and 20 seconds to wait to complete the order. Since we had already been there over 30 minutes I declined and left. The donuts and coffee were good but I don't know if it was worth the wait. read more

We were in town for one night while on vacation and wanted some ice cream. The hotel front desk person told us that this place had really good ice cream. I will give them credit for that though, but they really need to look at who they have working behind their counter as it is a reflection of their business. The girl that was helping us was SO rude. I asked her if they offered samples and her response was " I guess if I have to, I can give you one". There was just a couple of different flavors we were debating on getting and each time we asked her for a sample she would roll her eyes at us, put the tiniest amount ( like barely enough to even taste) on a spoon and ask if that was the flavor we wanted. She was very disrespectful and definitely made the place not very family friendly. When we didn't order within a few minutes she told us we needed to decide because she was busy, even though we were the only ones in there besides possibly a group of her friends and another employee. We ordered our ice cream and left to eat it at our hotel instead of staying there because her attitude was absolutely disgusting, but the ice cream was really good. read more

The ice cream was delicious and my 3 year old was quite happy! However, there were customers inside not wearing masks. They have a sign posted saying we cannot serve you without masks. The customer was just holding it in her hand. The two employees had masks on but they were under their noses which was a little concerning as they leaned over to scoop our ice cream. It's a great little place but I just hope they continue to do their part to stop the spread of COVID. read more

After a long walk on the beach, I was ready for some ice cream despite the day being on the chilly side. I ended up here after scoping out the options around town (not as many as I was expecting). Peppermint Parlor is part of Playtime Family Fun, which has a go-kart track and some other rides and things but I was only here for the ice cream. Older reviews make it sound like there used to be an arcade attached, but I looked in and it's not really an arcade anymore -- just a bunch of TVs/monitors where I guess you can pay to play xbox/playstation/wii games for a set amount of time. The ice cream parlor has a bright and colorful interior with a lot of pink and green. There are a few chairs and tables as well as a counter with seating. Peppermint Parlor doesn't make their own ice cream, but they do stock Pacific Northwest brands and flavors. There was a good range of flavors available. They had several flavors of Tillamook, which I know is good but I can get that at most grocery stores here so I wanted to try something different. I ended up ordering a scoop of huckleberry ice cream (from a company called Cascade Glacier) in a chocolate dipped waffle cone. I think this cost around $5, but for tourist pricing this didn't feel like a ripoff as the amount of ice cream in the scoop was large. The ice cream was nice and creamy and the huckleberry flavor was strong. The waffle cone didn't seem freshly made, but overall I enjoyed the ice cream. Perfect spot for ice cream after playing on the beach all day. Expect a long line though, it was consistently out the door while we were there. But, don't let that get you down; the employees are friendly and you'll get service with a smile! Lots of flavors, I chose a single scoop of mint chocolate chip in a waffle cone - YUM. We love going here on a hot day. We don't mind standing line and like to hear what the other costumers are thinking about getting! There are so many choices and it's fun to see what other people end up with as I can never make my mind up until the last second... LOL! The ice cream here is delicious. I'd also like to point out they have upgraded their credit card machines so the upset guy who 'broke' the credit card machine can rest easy now, they have moved into the 21st century with touch screens for the CC machines. There are several ice cream places in Ocean Shores and after I tore myself away from Murphy's, I decided to give Peppermint Parlor a shot. Prices are comparably to Murphy's and they have a VERY large variety of flavors. The ice cream was fine, nothing special. I was a little disappointed in my choice since there were so many different flavors to choose from and the ice cream wasn't stellar. I'd rather have fewer choices and better tasting ice cream! The servers were high school girls who were very polite, but definitely seemed uninterested in their jobs. One downside is that you can't see all the flavors because many of them are are in dark-covered freezer containers. You have to either ask for a sample or just go ahead and pick one and hope that it's what you were imagining! read more

The only ice cream shop in Western Washington that has HUCKLEBERRY ice cream all year round. This ice cream is amazing and I love this flavor so much. My hubby used to live here and when I would come visit from Seattle, I always made sure to drop by to grab a junior cone. Definitely worth trying if you love huckleberry as much as I do. read more

We stopped here after dinner. They have a large selection of flavors and three of us got ice cream. The place was packed and it was slow because there wasn't enough staff. We have always loved this shop. Ice cream tastes good and staff is always kind. Not the fastest place but it's worth the wait!

I can't speak for the ice cream because we came here for a snack but not ice cream, weird I know. We came in and I ordered some nachos and the husband and some friends ordered the chicken strip basket. It took over 20 mins for this and then when the food did come, it was horrible. They do not have a fryer apparently and bake the chicken which came out super soggy. The cheese on my nachos was not even hot. It was luke warm at best. Maybe you should not have food that is typically fried on your menu if you can not fry it. Just a thought. read more

They were not cleaning the ice cream scoop in between customers. There was smears of other ice creams mixed in with nearby ones. What's worse is I pointed out the little signs with the ice cream names had fallen into the ice cream tubs and the guy reached in bare handed to grab them out and proceeded to clean them on his dirty apron and put them back. If you want the best customer service at this place ask for River. He has excellent customer skills and you'll leave with a smile. However, there is one employee that I don't recommend serving and I don't know his name because I didn't see his name tag. He is short has black hair. The reason I say this is because I went in twice within a week with my boyfriend and ask the kid to serve him first and he totally ignores him and throws crumbs at a co-worker instead so I had to tell him a second time to serve my bf first. Then the second time I went in there were three people working one went on break or lunch and the one girl who was working helped my bf without me saying it twice but the you boy (not going to call him a man because he acted childish) was too busy to help the 6 other customers by playing with cups and calling someone. So all and all the young lady did awesome the ice cream was wonderful but the young boy with the black hair needs to be retrained on customer service. Visited Ocean Shores and tried out Murphy's because frankly it was a closer walk than Peppermint Parlor. So surprised this doesn't have a higher rating - the ice cream was amazing! Got the mint chocolate chip. My kids all loved what they got too. So delicious, more creamy than sweet, so good! The waffle cone was amazing too. Would highly recommend. A must stop while in town and before leaving town. My family and I come to ocean shores a lot and we always stop in for some ice cream at least. The prices is really reasonable and if you get the playtime card you can use it for bumper cars, go carts and buying ice cream. And depending on what amount on the card you purchase you can get an get an additional amount. Staff members are super nice and always have a smile even when the line is long. read more

Stopped by for some ice cream before our road trip home. It was pretty quiet Sunday morning, and only a few kids in the video game area. My daughter walked in to check it out, and it seemed pretty updated with new screens and leather chairs for seating. Ice cream parlor area was clean, they had a lot of different flavors to choose from. We got one scoop in a cup, about $2.50 each. Staff was nice and patient while my daughter was deciding which flavor she wanted.
