This restaurant is fantastic! The tomato basil soup makes you dream about coming back for more . Over many visits have tried all the pizzas, chicken. Marsala, ravioli and salads, all delicious. I've eaten here a few times, and every time I've had good experiences. The pizza has always been good, maybe not the best pizza but 10x better than chain pizza's or cici's pizza's. I use to really like this place. Not now. Last night we walked in about 8:30 and the staff was cleaning up and putting things away. We asked if they were closing and she said "Well we were hoping to go home early but you might as well sit down". The pizza was burnt and awful and the entire time we had to listen to comments like "Might as well shut off the air it's only 1 table" and "I hope we don't get anyone else". Their are so many GOOD businesses that would love just a few more tables a night. We felt the entire time that they were staring at us and could not wait for us to leave. First of all never had a bad meal since new owners took over. Bar crowd is great. We have made a lot of new friends there. Canned mushrooms I do not think so. Only fresh used here. Garlic chicken served over a bed of spinach is my favorite. Bartenders Donna and Sue remember your name and drink of choice Wine list is great and changes every 6 months or so. If my service wasn't so fantastic, I wouldn't have given this place such a high rating. Our server, (named Alexis, ask for her if you go!) was extremely attentive, speedy, and friendly, which I value greatly. My wife ordered the bbq chicken pizza, which was crispy and cheesy, and had huge chunks of chicken and lots of bbq sauce. We both loved it. My pasta dish, a veggie-pesto something, was just okay. Service: was perfect. Appetizers: The calamari was the best either of us had ever had. We also had the breaded eggplant which was delicious as well. Entrees: I had the chicken marsala with garlic mashed potatoes and my husband had the lambchops. Both were amazing. Dessert: We finished with a slice of chocolate cake they get from a favorite local bakery of ours, Josefs. Overall: Not a single complaint. We have pepperoni grille as a regular stop. Food is always good, service is excellent, price are very reasonable. I'm Italian so I'm very rarely impressed with restaurant spaghetti sauce, but this is one of those rare exceptions. Sauce is incredible. Tastes homemade. Pizza is great too, and, I think Tuesday's it's 1/2 off. We have a Pepperoni Grille card that accumulates points and then rewards you with discounts. Highly recommend this joint. read more

Was out this way the other week visiting friends, and along came that usual topic anytime you are in a group of friends. "Hey, anyone hungry?" Everyone says yes, no one has a suggestion where to eat. We start driving, and I received a notification on my mobibo app about this place. I ask everyone in the car if they have ever tried it or heard of it, a mix of no's and yes's. So i ask if we should try it, I get some okays. We walk in, its a 10 minute wait on a early Thursday night. Now, we missed happy hour by a slight variance due to it being a reverse happy hour. Something we were not aware of, but we will come after 8 p.m. next time. No big deal. We sit down, order our drinks and decide to split a large pizza. Now, I am actually amazed my friends and I had our stuff together for once and ordered quikcly, without a return trip by the waitress. It seemed only like a few minutes later, we had our pizza, and it was pretty good. Good size for a large, nice amount of toppings, and hey it was a BBQ chicken pizza, so your really not going to hear me complain at all. Smokey, a hint of BBQ and not too many onions where I couldn't tell there was bacon or anything else but onions and BBQ on it. Good to me! It was pretty good service. If I had one gripe about this place, it may have been the price. I drove so I got the cheap seats, but I am pretty sure for a pizza and 2 beers per person, we were well over 50 bucks. Again, I can't remember correctly, but for pizza and beers that seems a bit high. Ah well, no worries. Was a good experience, so maybe according to these other reviews I just got lucky! read more

I had to send my chicken parmesan back twice. The first time, it was not made as described on the menu. The second time, it had no cheese. When I finally received a correctly made order, it was meh. It lacked flavor of any kind, good or bad. I was shocked that a manager hadn't visited after having sent my food back twice, so I requested to speak with one. She came over and said she didn't visit the table because she was busy serving her own tables. I'm unsure why the manager was a server at the same time. Clearly, she cant do both simultaneously if she was too busy serving to manage the restaurant, which should include checking on guests who send food back. Service was ok. Calamari was delicious. I took my kids to have dinner there and they burned our pizza and made us wait twice as long for the new pizza to be made. Then... here's the kicker, we ordered a piece of chocolate cake to share and we all took a bite and looked at each other perplexed. We agreed the cake tasted funny like motor oil or something, so we tried it again to be sure, and decided the frosting tasted exactly like GASOLINE! Even our waitress tasted it and agreed!!! The manager blamed it on the bakery they bought it from. I called the bakery and they blamed it on Pepperoni Grille and said they let the cake sit around two weeks to get old, and expect to serve it to their customers! I went to the ER by ambulance the next day in the middle of my work day with severe substernal chest pain!!! It turns out I wasn't having a heart attack, thank God, but seriously makes me wonder what exactly I ate that night!!! Never, ever again will I eat at Pepperoni Grille. Last night was the first time that our group had dinner at Pepperoni Grille in SCS, Michigan. We were all very pleased with the quality and flavor of the food and the service was awesome. I had the small Michigan salad (yummy) and the garlic chicken with fresh green beans, my fiancée' had the chicken parm, my cousin had the tilapia (she loved it) with fresh mashed potatoes and her husband had the fried lake perch with fries. We all said we would keep this on our list of places to return to. I enjoyed it more than Ondiamo's is SCS or Sterling heights. (8) drinks and (4) entrees and the bill was $100.00 (not bad at all). After reading older post I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to try it out, but to my pleasant surprise I was very pleased. So, I guess we have to be our own judge of what is good or not so good. Love the bread basket and pizza dough, some of the best in town along with the dipping sauce. Order it well done and you will not be disappointed. Clean and friendly atmosphere with good service, definitely easy to become a regular here. COMPLETELY revising this review! I got ahold of an owner after trying a couple times to no avail but AS SOON as I spoke with him he seemed genuinely sorry and said that he had seen my poor review. After talking for a minute he eradicated any concerns about returning to the Pepperoni Grille. I normally don't return to somewhere that made me sick - but he was so apoligetic and seemed so genuine that I quickly forgave him. To be honest, my boyfriend was so pleased with the outcome that he ordered himself a pizza like, 30 minutes after I spoke with the owner. He loved it as always. The thin-crust pizza is amazing in addition to the calamari! Very fresh ingredients. That zip sauce is so good! Service is great. Make sure to call ahead and make a reservation! Me and my husband had our rehearsal dinner here. Staff was very accommodating and so was Jason the owner. They reserved one whole side of the restaurant for us and even accommodated us for more people than we anticipated. The PIZZA IS SOOOOOOO GOOD! I was planning for a year my fiftieth birthday party and I was down to the final aspects of putting it all together. We wanted it catered but informally. We were going to go with another place and ordered their food a month before the event. It was okay but didn't really say we want to spend that kind of money. A co-worker stepped in and said try my daughters and son-in-laws restaurant. So I talked to Jason over the phone told him what I was looking for an made plans to go over in the next couple of days so that we could try the food before we commited. Jason was very nice and accomodating on the phone. He offered that I come in that day and he would cook up a couple of samples for me to try. They are a business so I said we'd come in and order full items and have dinner. We went in two days later and ordered the lasagna and chicken piccata. OMG! Can you say delicious! I cleaned my plate in record time. Needless to say we hired them on the spot. Due to all the last minute things that needed to be done the day of the party I made plans for them to deliver to my house. Ann Marie and her sister were there at the scheduled time. The food was hot and delicious and the guests commented on how good the food looked and smelled. They couldn't believe how much was layed out for the party. The Pepperoni Grill gave me a fair price to cater my event and i would use them again for my next function and I recommend that anyone and everyone check them out, it's even worth the drive from Royal Oak to St. Clair Shores to eat at their restaurant! read more

Just had a horrible experience at this place !!! The pizza oven broke(we already placed our pizza order) we were told after our kids food was already delivered that it might be a min or two . Twenty mins later after the kids are done eating and ready to go we were asked if we want to order something else . REALLY ???? I told her just bring the bill we're all set ! Two kids pizzas, two ice creams , and two small ceaser salads , one pop two choc milks = 30 bucks ! Not even a hey I will take care of the kids ice creams or nothing since you dinner was ruined !!!
