We have enjoyed Peppers 5 times but the latest experience was with our car club who held a monthly meeting on a Saturday morning. There about 14 of us and they took great care of us. The most surprising part that all of our food came out at the same time. It was impressive. We have been to other establishment in Crescent City and the food comes out a couple of plates at a time. Many times the first served are done eating by the time the last receive their food. The service was great, food was delicious and not one single complaint from any of us. Well Done Peppers. This restaurant was right next door to our hotel and the smell of the food lured us over here for dinner. They were busy but seated us and took our orders after a few minutes wait. The ambiance is odd - it feels like an upscale American Diner type of vibe but the music they were pumping out was nothing but country. It didn't fit at all. Road trip continues...we left Grants Pass in OR this morning and took 199 to the coast. Looking for a bio break we saw this place, full parking lot and I pulled in. "Peppers", Breakfast all day , lunch and dinner. I forgot it was Sunday but everybody else remembered. We were sat right after our bio break at a large booth with a front window view of the highway. We discovered that Peppers was newly opened probably a month or so ago, so still some timing issues with the staff. Our server was a bit scattered as her station seemed have been sat at nearly the same time. Paige managed with a smile and genuine care for making sure everyone's meal was what they expected when they ordered. Order was placed, it was a bit of a wait but well worth. M ordered a crepe, egg whites with mushroom & spinach, with fresh fruit. I found an old standby a Meat lovers omelet with fresh fruit, very good, a good portion too. The fruit was on it own small platter a couple wedges of honey dew and cantaloupe melon with orange wedges. All fresh but having to cut the fruit from the rind with a butter knife isn't fun, that needs to change. My starch was biscuits and country gravy, certainly not made from scratch, no sausage and not much flavor either. We watched the folks and family's around us, one child was licking the top of the salt shaker at a table across from us...Ah...dad? Mom...Pay attention! We were glad we stopped for the break and nosh. We talked to Paige, we listened anyways, she had a brief vent. We sympathized and encouraged her and tipped well. Good help can be hard to find. I ordered the Chicken fried steak country dinner through Doordash. Haven't been able to get out of my house for health reasons. It was absolutely a delicious meal. 2 biscuits, 1 salad, broccoli, Big beef patty so tender and flavored with a big pile of mashed potatoes that were made from scratch, all topped with a white favorable gravy. Ate every bite of it. I can't wait to have it again. Have to pace myself or I would eat it everyday till I'm sick of it, if ever. read more

First time here, three days after they started serving customers inside. Not sure if it's because they are new but our experience could have been better. We were seated at 0745 for breakfast. Our sever Paige was super friendly. We placed our order, received two coffees but had to ask for silverware a few minutes later so we could stir our coffees. My coffee mug had coffee dripping down the sides which I had to wipe off before drinking. While waiting for our meals, around 0805, another server came over to drop the check off. WE DIDN'T EVEN GET OUR MEALS YET! Finally at 0815, our meals arrived. My wife ordered a short stack with hash browns and I ordered a Belgian waffle with bacon. The pancakes were rubbery and the bacon was overcooked. My scrambled eggs were overcooked and dry. Belgian waffle was average. Overall, the meal and the experience was fair. Nothing to write home about. Too bad, we were really hoping for a great experience with a new breakfast location in CC. We did notice that they were focusing more on the Door Dash orders than the people sitting in the restaurant which is why it took 30 minutes for our meals to come out. More than a dozen or so take out meals had gone out while we were seated and most of them were Door Dash orders. Overall, our visit was underwhelming and we may go back in a few months to see if it gets better but it won't be a destination. read more

The worst experience! The food was absolutely flavorless. The prices look moderate on the menu and that's because the food is not edible. Ordered a cheeseburger cooked medium and it was leather! Kids Mac and Cheese was like eating processed air-zero flavor! They tried to charge 5$ for a soda water! Manager doesn't help the servers- the busser stares out the front widow and does not work! Second time coming in and really looking forward to it because the first time was really good but man!, did they miss the mark this round upon entering we were not greeted at all even with staff right in front of us. No acknowledgment What so ever until finally someone came out the back to greet us and seat us. Our waitress was nice and friendly and she served us just fine but the food this round was not good at all! Steak was medium rare which is what I asked for but there was no char and it was cold with 0 flavor. Fries tasted old and stale like it was sitting out and the veggies were mush. Nice decor, but the space underneath our booth was severely cramped my feet and legs crowded the table stand/s. I am 5-2 and weight 135 pounds so am not very a large person. I asked the server if we could change seats because of this and she said they are "all the same" and because my husband was embarrassed I even asked, we stayed in this uncomfortable "booth". We both got the Country Fried Steak which was a nothing more than a processed breaded "meat patty", which should probably be expected at a diner-type restaurant. Even though I order this other places. it was not the tasty "meat patty" as I have had at similar restaurants, maybe a different wholesale supplier? Rough night! We sat down expecting a normal dinner and instead got a masterclass in how not to run a front of house. Over an hour for food, no exaggeration. Meanwhile tables that walked in 30-40 minutes after us were eating before we even got a refill on water, let alone the food we ordered! At some point it stopped feeling like bad luck and started feeling like a choice. The staff was clearly running the restaurant for DoorDash, not for the people sitting in it. Order after order went out the door while actual paying customers at actual tables sat there watching their night disappear. If you're going to prioritize delivery apps over the guests in your building, maybe don't bother seating people at all. When we finally received our food, it was okay. Fries were cold and soggy, but it's hard to care about a good bite when you've spent over an hour watching the restaurant staff pretend your two tables don't exist. My friend and I ate dinner there and it was terrific! I had the ground beef with mushroom sauce, and so did my friend. Our waitress was really great and made the meal better with her great attitude. Finally, a great place to have breakfast in Crescent City. They have a "Joe's Special" that is as good as the famous original in San Francisco. First time I've had the opportunity to stop in for breakfast at the New Peppers in Cresent City Ca. What a treat!! Whoever does the hiring, sure likes Voluptuous young single Lady's!! (an that's not a bad thing!!) One young Lady was humming an singing as she waited tables, (I'd hired her just for her smile!!) The food was fantastic, was not a very long wait even tho they were busy!! Service was great!! every waitress with a coffee pot, stopped to see if I needed a warm up, not just my waitress. Workers worked together to help each other when they could, one employee had a minute, she started doing side work by the kitchen window, while waiting for an order to come up!!
