Don't go to this Denny's on your birthday. Apparently, they don't want to honor the Denny's "Free Birthday" policy. They said too many people claimed it was their birthday; apparently they think it is too much trouble to ask people to see their driver's licenses. Ok I know, a Dennys is a Dennys, but this one, after a long day the previous day of motorcycle riding down the coast was a god sent, staff is super friendly and crescent city such a pretty town. Plenty of parking, food, same as any other Dennys, good and quick. read more

What a great surprise! Been seeing the adds on TV, so decided to try our local Denny's. It was very clean inside, the food was cooked perfect, there was no wait time, the presentation was great and the serving sizes were plentiful. We were amazed at the menus variety. Thanksgiving lunch [Crescent City CA] Hubby and I decided to take a road trip this Thanksgiving year. We stopped by this Denny's in Crescent City and had a late lunch since most restaurants and businesses were closed (or closed early) to celebrate the holiday. Denny's (aka "America's Diner"), has more than 1600+ restaurants all over the U.S. with a big menu ranging from omelets, pancakes and crepes, to steaks and fried chicken. I just noticed that they had seafood on the menu! I ordered the Wild Alaska Salmon meal. It actually tasted pretty good! Hubby had a Build-Your-Own Grand Slam. That was our Thanksgiving meals. LoL! Literally the cutest and friendliest Dennys I've ever been in. Service was amazing, chatty and engaging and fast! Friendly to everyone, and knew the menu inside and out. It's Dennys food, nothing remarkable and always consistent, but the diner vibe is real and nobody rushed us out when we wanted to sit and chat for a while. My family and myself took a little vacation to the coast. We stopped on crescent City Denny's for lunch. Before going on the restaurant we looked at the crescent City Denny's when site menu. We found Denny's deals, a burger and fries for 799, 5 chicken strips and fries 999. We were on a budget so we decided on that for lunch. When we went inside we could not find those deals on the menu. When i asked the waitress she just told me they only go by the store menus and they don't go by the web site. I asked the though the Web site is for this Denny's address? She said well then that's online ordering only then. Looking at the in store menus most meals were 1700 dollars and up. So we left but not before paying for 4 soft drinks that cost 18.97. YA! So needless to say we will never return read more

I love Denny's and it hurts to have to give a bad review. We ordered food for takeout and I'm shocked at how bad it was. There were old french fries mixed in with my mashed potatoes (clearly they aren't cleaning the grill), the chicken fried steak was basically a breaded hamburger patty (think Salisbury steak and tasteless), and there was even a mushroom in my strawberry crepe! The tiny crepe was over $9 too! I don't often review restaurants but I genuinely can't believe how disappointing this meal was. I couldn't finish it. In addition, the fruit in the fruit cup was soggy and didn't seem fresh. My kids and husband enjoyed their food, which is the only reason I'm giving this restaurant two stars. They had hamburgers and pancakes. If you have to eat here, get the hamburgers and pancakes, but don't be surprised if you find random other ingredients in your food. This lady was such a bright ray of sunshine and had a very good and pleasant attitude and was super busy but she didn't seem to let it fase her at all and took care of everything and everyone in a nice, kind and professional manner. I really appreciated that. We don't get much of that in our area. And I am pleased to announce that this young lady's name was Ashley and we visited there last night (Tuesday) for dinner and it was to great to see a smiling face. We come to Crescent City at least once a year for a quick getaway and we usually stick to our regular restaurants, but this visit we found that most places were closed earlier than expected so we thought we would "settle" for Denny's. This was BY FAR the best food we have both ever had at any Denny's! The food was so flavorful without being too salty, the side dishes were excellent and each had their own distinct flavors; and to top it all off, the staff was the friendliest we've ever encountered. This Facility is actually very clean! Yes, even the menu's are cleaned! Wow! Autum has GREAT customer service skills! So professional and friendly. She was like this with each table around us. We were not expecting much from a Dennys but we were tired and hungry after a long day of driving so we popped in. We are a family of 4 with a 2 year old and 12 year old. The stuffed animal claw machine was a hit right off the bat. We were seated immediately even though it was a busy dinner time. Krystal our server was so kind and friendly. Talking to our toddler about his toys he brought in. She even made sure we got our drinks right away. We had our hot, yummy food in 10 minutes! That's better than fast food often times.
