do not go here!!!!!! had a terrible experience here!!!!!! right from the start our waitress was giving my mom looks and acting like she didn't understand what she was saying when she spoke italian. the entire time we were there they were staring right at us just watching for some reason. there were many other people eating at this restaurant inside and out. we tried to ask for bread for the table and they said "you can have bread if you pay" which made it seem like they didn't think we could pay along with the stares we were getting. me and my boyfriend asked for the truffle pasta (which was 22 euros each) and when the food came out they brought us the wrong pasta, it was regular fettuccine and bolognese. we said we didn't order them and the guy went back inside and came back out right he waitress. she said they were out of the truffle pasta so this is what we would have to eat. they did not even ask us if we wanted the pasta OR tell us that they were out of the truffle pasta. VERY WEIRD THAT THEY PICKED FOR US. extremely rude staff. the bill came and it was hand written and in scribbles, we could barley read anything. they didn't write anything by itself either and grouped everything together for some reason. i wanted to make sure they didn't charge us 22 each for the pasta WE DID NOT GET but there was no way. after reading other reviews, it seems they have tried to scam other people with the written bill and they DO have printed ones. wish we would've known this as the pasta they gave us was way cheaper than the one we ordered. read more

Our hotel recommended this restaurant as a local family operated place to try. They said it had great food and it wasn't too formal or expensive. Our reservation was for outside and it was a great seat! We enjoyed the Roman artichokes to start, with a light white wine, olive oil and fresh herb garnish. Next we shared the eggplant parmigiana which was cooked perfectly and delicious! For our entree we had the fish of the day; it was fresh, light and very enjoyable! My mom enjoyed a decaf cappuccino with our chocolate soufflé dessert! We hope to be back very soon! Note - if you have handicapped person traveling with you&/or challenges with stairs the restroom is way downstairs! read more

Delightful, we choose a table outside. It is a little warm right now in Rome but it was still great. The location was perfect for us because the Westin was right around the corner. We started off with a nice red wine and caprese salad with nice beautiful tomatoes and mozzarella cheese flavored with a little basil. The cheese was dry but the tomatoes made up for it. I ordered the spaghetti with clams in a white wine sauce, delicious. There served allot of clams I was very surprised how many. The flavor was very nice a creamy but not like a fettuccini sauce. My friend got the meatballs and they were amazing, served with delicious bread. There wasn't allot of people watching the street was lonely but dinner was great. We will be back, I think this is a family owned and operated restaurant judging from the care we received. read more

This restaurant was right across our Airbnb during our stay in Rome and we went in for dinner. The service was not great and the ambiance/vibe was honestly very weird. Maybe it was because we are Americans, maybe not but I would definitely not come back. The food was okay and the only thing I mildly enjoyed was their tiramisu. It was a decent 6/10. The cream was on the fluffier side if you like that, the espresso made the dessert super wet and it was just not sweet enough for my liking. And the overly powdered chocolate topping ugh. If I was choosing again, I would probably skip this place. So many better options in Rome! read more

Visiting Rome with my family and we asked the concierge to book an authentic Italian dinner for us. The only request was it had to be something that he would bring his family to. He nailed it! Appetizers of grilled cheese with prosciutto and mushrooms were amazing. Them came the pasta. Carbonara was some of the best I ever had!!! Them came the Saltimbocca. Not enough words to describe how tender the meat was and how amazing the sauce was!! And the house wine was incredible. The attentiveness of the owners was amazing and we had a meal to remember. We were looking for a lunch place. Walking by our friend asked is the food good. The chef was outside he said so- so and made us all laugh. When our friend saw they have tripe on the menu we went straight in! Amazing pasta with bacon. The eggplant appetizer was wonderful . Slow cooked chicken was delicious. This is a wonderful restaurant with an amazing since of hospitality & humor. Hope you love it as much as we did. Ps. The people we were traveling with were both chefs of Italian food . Great food, terrible service. We got here right when it opened for dinner and they pushed us to order right away yet our food didn't come for an hour. Watched people that came after us get theirs and finish before we got ours. Fine. It happens and the food was worth the wait. My bigger complaint was the staff was SO rude! My sister has dietary limitations and ordered a pasta and asked if they could do it without bacon. The waiter started lecturing her how it had to have bacon for the flavor and how bland and gross it was she wanted to remove it. A simple we can't do that would have sufficed but he was so mean and condescending about it. My niece asked for a sprite and he scoffed at her and said "we don't serve that." The steak, cacio e pepe, carbonara were all good but not sure it's worth dealing with the staff there. read more

This restaurant was highly recommended by the concierge at our relais. And, the food was very good. But the service was very disappointing. Perhaps the waiter was put off because we came in without a reservation, even though they did seem to have plenty of available tables at the time. In any case both the maître d' and our waiter were dismissive and unhelpful and distant. We kept trying to figure out what we were doing wrong to deserve this kind of treatment. Maybe they were all just having a bad Friday night. In any event, the food was excellent. I would definitely give them another chance. read more

Carciofi alla Romana to start: Exquisite. Could make a whole meal with six of them. Paccheri alla amatriciana was incredible. Maybe the best I've ever tasted. Spaghetti alle vongole also excellent. Flavorful clams with that classic Mediterranean flavor. Both pastas were perfectly cooked and all perfectly seasoned except clams were a little too salty. Classy place but may have too many bosses. Beware this restaurant charges 15% service charges before the final bill. My mistake may have been having the concierge make reservation. In Italy normally is 10% if no cover charge is on the bill. This is the worst meal I had in Rome, I normally don't leave food behind but the tripe "Roman style " I had isn't worth wasting my calories. The escalope Milanese was tasteless. Lasagna my husband had was lukewarm and the portion was tiny. Location is good and decoration is nice but price is 4$ sign, food is 1 star and service is actually ok so I am giving it a 2 stars. read more

We went there based on a recommendation of a concierge. Ended up eating dinner there twice in five nights. Just excellent. We did not have a bad dish over the two meals. I see another reviewer mentioned the great artichokes romana. Totally concur. The panna cotta I had was amazing. My children , 13 and 10, loved their pasta dishes. Our front desk at nearby Sofitel hotel recommended this place for our family of four on our last night in Rome. Turned out to be our best meal. My teenage son ordered a second pasta because he loved the frost one so much. Prices seemed fair and service was good, too. Best dish we all agreed was the pasta bolognese. read more
