As someone that has received a ton of laser hair removal before, I can guarantee you that I know what I am talking about. It was a last minute appointment for me and I don't have a lot in my southern area due to all the previous sessions I had at other places. This is just a touch up after 10 years. So I didn't shave because it was last minute and didn't have time (pretty normal at most places to touch you up if you didn't), as you know we have to shave. So I asked my laser tech, she said you don't need to because this way she knows where it is. Big mistake trusting her that maybe she knew a new hack (?). It's been 2 weeks and nothing has happened except that she probably burned me (read online why you need to shave). I have never ever had hyper pigmentation but I was covered in red dots that are now gray. I'm pretty fair skin but I am a POC and it's crazy because I've always done the higher settings for any laser, whether it is IPL or hair removal. I don't know what the tech did. All the areas that I have hyperpigermentation or the pink/red burns are on areas I didn't have any hair. Then we hit the areas that do, she never shaved so it hurt extra bad and of course it doesn't hit the follicles, burnt, and I still have hair..... And I will say as someone that is from the 2nd densest big city after NYC, this was 5x what it cost back home. This is crazy, not only is it more expensive, it was done incorrectly, somehow I manage to get burned and none of the hair follicles were killed. It's upsetting that this store is operating and I TIPPED THEM. Never in my life had I ever have to tip anyone for laser and they ask for it here. SKIP AT ALL COST. TLDR: I'm a laser vet, said I didn't need to shave (quick google says they are wrong), something nothing worked/ineffective, I got burned, I have hyperpigmentation which has never happened, 5x other places in price, and they ask for tip (mildly unorthodox.. You don't know much and in my case, I rely on this wonderful community. Yelp search: waxing Yelp led me here. I needed a super quick waxing. Went into Saajida's website, checked her services and prices and booked an appointment thru her site. I quickly got a confirmation and on I went. Later that night, Saajida texted me letting me know she had a timing conflict and did her best to accommodate to my working schedule. I loved everything about this place, really. She is super sweet, courteous and cool. She was waiting for me and had everything ready for my appointment. She even gave me a bunch of tips on how to deal with my sensitive skin pimples after waxing. I really appreciated that. The owner Ari is an absolute perfectionist and the most important thing to me. Is that my natural lashes stay intact and are healthy. Not only are they healthy. They have grown extensively while I have been getting lashes done by her! Then nail artist are wonderful I'm very very specific on this. I work in a very corporate job and so do plain nails, but even their designs are gorgeous. Nevertheless, this is NY even when you do get a cancellation you still don't have a cancellation because someone else will come along and take the spot, not saying it makes it ok to cancel on businesses under this pretense but it's about being considerate. I made my appointment a week in advance and if I knew a week ago when I booked my appointment that I was going to catch a stomach bug that would cause me to feel like I had been turned inside out the day of the appointment then I wouldn't have booked it. It wasn't enough for them to text me about it when I call to confront them but they also gave me someone else's credit card number that they had ALSO added to my profile and divulged the information. I also expressed not wanting to be used for the apprentice of a new technician because I am paying for a training session that should happen under your own time and definitely with your own staff until the person is ready to be on the floor, I told them to please just have someone who has experience working with nails (for which I already had Japanese gel on and they were saying that they needed to remove it and it would be $35 more even though I literally explained to them the material was new and I was only getting my nails done to change the color NOT the material) and they just straight up refused. They are very rude and money hungry because they took on a spot that requires you to have a solid background of clients. I have seen businesses come and go in less than a year in the same spot because they cannot make the money necessary to pay for their rent so I understand what position she might be in but extorting people for money when last minute emergencies happen is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Then she said to still come in to the salon and that she would give me a 20% discount on the final bill, so she's rather risk her employees health along with other clients catching something that is clearly wreaking the immune system all to make sure they are paid. Before this I had only visited once, there was no courtesy extended for a first time cancellation or even the resolution of the issue by reschuling for a day when I wasn't sick just a straight up attach because I was sick and they were loosing money and would've preferred I got their staff sick than miss the appointment. The first time I visited the place was clean, I did have to wait 15 mins after my appointment to be seated for eyelashes and the lashes only lasted like a week and even then immediately after leaving the salon a lot of the hairs started to fall out, they do not work HAIR by HAIR, they group like 4-6 of your lashes together and glue them with the fake ones they put on so the job is done fast YES but not effectively leaving you with lasting results. Very sad for them and their business because like this they will be closing soon since nobody wants to deal with being mistreated in this way. I have left screenshots of what I did manage to get via text so they cannot say that they didn't do any of the things they are accused of here. When in NY and looking for a place to have your services done for DO NOT choose this one because it is convenient because in the long run you will regret having spent your money with them.

I tend to like my nails on the shorter side which can be difficult to explain sometimes but there was no issue with getting the length I want. I have now had three appointments at wink brow bar in the West Village and all three have been wonderful. The girls there are so sweet and lovely and listen to my demanding needs! But also, my brows have turned out better than expected every time I've had lamination with tint and shape, and they really have done a wonderful job. Can't thank them enough love this place.
