If you're blonde or redheaded, don't go here. Today a brow specialist (Maya) did my brows at this location, and I noticed that the lighting was terrible. I said "are we okay to do this in this lighting? My brow hairs are very blonde and transparent and can be hard to see. Maybe we should use my phone flashlight?" But I was brushed off. 3x during the service the brow specialist tweezed a piece of skin (not hair; skin!) HARD. I jumped and it hurt. At home, 10 hours later, I can see the little red scratches from the tweezers grabbing those bits of skin HARD. This has never happened to me at a brow tweeze session before. The aesthetician straight-up couldn't see where the hairs were. I also noticed that my right brow looks basically fine (that's the brow that was closer to the window)-- the right brow is more or less okay-- but my left brow (the brow that was away from the window, and so more in shadow) has pieces taken out of it that shouldn't have been and some hairs left in it that maybe also shouldn't have been left in. A bald spot appeared in my left eyebrow. The aesthetician swore she didn't tweeze "THAT hair", "just the hair below it". BUT as a brow tweezer it's your job to know that if you remove the hair below a sparse spot in a brow, you will leave the sparse spot with no camouflage! Why didn't she take two seconds to move the brow hairs with a spoolie brush and check for this before just tweezing away? I also asked her about a specific area and said "did we miss the hair here? Don't tweeze yet, just tell me," and she responded by tweezing hair out of that area before I could tell her to stop. I specifically told her "I really just want the strays gone. I want my brows to stay full and I don't want a big 'before and after'". And now I have a bald spot on my left eyebrow, a sort of wonky-looking left eyebrow, and little red scratches/wounds where the aesthetician missed hair and hit skin. I am a redhead and it takes my brows FOREVER to grow. I am really devastated. Some advice to Benefit: if you aren't equipped to do blonde brows, say so-- don't lie. Don't be cheap, get real lighting. Use ring lights if necessary. What happened to my left brow, and the way my SKIN (not just hair) was tweezed and scratched up, should never happen to anyone! And I literally gave you the chance to tell me you couldn't handle blonde brows in your store lighting, but you bluffed and pretended it would be fine! And don't just remove hair around a bald spot in the brow without first thinking about how it will affect the look of the whole brow. And after all this, the aesthetician asked me to my face if I wanted to leave her a tip. I went home crying. Never again. read more

After a year of being away, I finally returned back to this location! I had a 5:45 appointment and got there early. I was taken right away! Every time I come here, I am so happy with my brows! I had to go to some different salons during COVID when I was out of town, and I missed the expertise of all the waxers here! I love a fuller, natural look, and they always nail it! I've gone here about three times since living in New York since October. I adore Pam - she's a kind, personable stylist and does a great job. The location is so close to my house I get lucky I got hop over in a matter of minutes. I had a bit of a wax burn on my last trip but I also started taking a retinol and semi forgot that can affect the skin. It went away within 48 hours but it can happen: just a warning. I get a tint & wax and it lasts around 4 weeks. They do ask and provide make up after your appointment if needed or desired which is a nice touch. I will admit I am a newbie to the benefit brows a go go studios. So I am glad my first experience was amazing. The store is decked out in the benefit brand theme and well lit. I love the lighting in the studio I was kindly greeted then led to sign a short questionnaire. I was super excited about my appointment with Monique for lash and brow linting. (Everyone at brows a go go is licensed and very well trained. They want their clients to walk away happy and return) Also the boutique is super clean and each esthetician station looked clean and sanitized. Monique used her hands to show me where my brows should arch, start and end. It was a quick, easy and painless process. Vaseline was applied as a precaution. The nontoxic dye did not contain an odor. It took about 10 min for the dye to set. My lashes also took about 10 mim. I will admit I was a little nervous about the dye going into my eyes but that never happened. Monique cleaned up the dye and rinsed my eyes thoroughly with saline. I also got a eyebrow wax to enhance my brow tinting results. My lashes are darker and my brows look neat clean and filled in . I enhance the cleanup with a little bit of concealer . I highly recommend benefit if you are in the Chelsea area. Appointments are recommend and walk ins are accepted . I am very happy. read more

Love this place! I am pretty reckless with my brows in terms of who I let do them (just about anyone when I'm in a last minute crunch), and we all know how that usually turns out (horribly!) It was super easy to book an appointment online and when I showed up I was immediately taken care of. Wish I got the name of the lady who did mine but she explained the rationale behind proper brow arch and length based on facial anatomy, which made me feel very comfortable with her doing my eyebrows. But more importantly they came out looking absolutely fantastic! And the pain was so minimal (she waxed and tweezed) I was shocked. The price is triple for typical run of the mill thread/wax places in NYC ($24 vs $8), but the expertise and easy process makes it worth it. Will be back! read more

I've always had great brow experiences at Benefit. They're usually able to take in walk ins, the most I've had to wait is 10 minutes. I have relatively thick brows and am wary of someone making them too thin. The ladies at benefit always give me a natural and polished shape. I'm also a fan of their eyebrow tinting - it's never been too dark. You definitely pay more, put you're paying for consistency & cleanliness. After your wax/thread they always offer to apply make up so you're not red. It's so nice that you can come in during the middle of the day and leave not looking red and scary. They also have a great selection of their products, I'm obsessed with their hydrating concealer & their toner. Also a huge fan of their tanning that they offer in the soho location. read more

Clean, nice staff, and great results! I made my appointment online through the Benefit website, it was super convenient and easy. I got my eyebrows tinted by Paige, and she was easy to talk to, extremely nice, and overall did an amazing job. Note to others, lash tinting is for a more natural look. My brows came out super pretty and look really nice and natural and definitely look fuller than without the tint. I also like how she sanitized tools and her area when doing my brows. I'm a mega germaphobe and really appreciated how cleaning the store was as well. Paige also trimmed my eyebrows and put some of the 3D gel on them and I'm so happy with how they look! With tip, I paid $34. Not cheap, not super expensive, let's just say in the middle. :) Will be coming back soon for another tint! read more

If I was truly selfish, I wouldn't tell you a damned thing about Benefit's Chelsea location. But I'm a firm believer in singing the praises of those places and people who turn out a great service or product. Sure--you can say, "I got what I expected, so there's nothing to say." but that doesn't make anyone's business try harder to keep you--nor does it help anyone who's hesitating to patronize that business. I've now had two fab sessions with Monique here, and can say we're both committed to the relationship. Monique didn't look at my half-absent brows with worry; she rose to the challenge and helped me find them again, and found a perfectly harmonious brow pencil to keep them spiff until my next visit. She helped me forget that place I was going for so many years--where every great technician I managed to engage left as fast as they came, and the standard of work across those who did remain was rather uneven. Monique will help you love your brows again. And by the looks of it, all the other brow experts here do mighty fine work, and with products that keep your brow game tight long after you've left this adorable little jewel box of a location. I've been getting my brows done at Benefit since I was 16 years old and have stopped into this Chelsea location multiple times. Just now, I went in for a wax and tint and my aesthetician, who was visibly unhappy with her coworker, began consulting with me on my brow shape. During this time, she told me that I had forehead wrinkles, and that she is always chiding her "17 year old sister" for the same wrinkles on her forehead. I was honestly appalled by this. This is a woman whose job it is to make women feel more beautiful and instead, I left feeling self conscious about something that up until that moment I had no sense of. When my services were complete, she had the audacity to ask for tip in VENMO when I suggested it go on my credit card through Benefit's system. NEVER GOING TO BENEFIT FOR BROWS AGAIN. Hey Benefit, here's a hint: you should be lifting up customers, not putting them down. read more

Paige. She is amazing. That's basically all you need to know. I come in for her to tweeze (and sometimes thread) my brows, and she has transformed them in a matter of months. She is so sweet and checks in to make we're both on the same page in terms of what kind of shape I want. She also has sold me some great products that I use daily. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would! First off, it's super easy to make an appointment, but I've also never had much of a problem walking in. I have very sensitive skin, so the wax itself is great and they are always very gentle, being sure to put aloe on my skin after. I also really like that because this place isn't a full store, you don't get hit with a sales pitch.
