The ube matcha was just alright too me, I didn't feel like the ube or matcha taste was strong. But let me tell you.... The funky monkey was amazing! I got the vanilla base and it was SO GOOD! I can't wait to go back. The funky monkey was a great mix of banana, chocolate and peanut butter. I also appreciate that they use local products like the Mānoa Chocolate cacao nibs and they also use Traditions Coffee (got to come back to try). Already thinking when I can go next, I just hope to get lucky and find street parking again (:

I didn't go to the actual shop, I went to one of their pop ups during a sustainability expo! I got one of their signature swirls: Maui Sunset which is strawberry, mango, choice of base so vanilla ice cream or coconut ice cream, topped with lilikoi drizzle, coconut flakes, and waffle cone bits! SO GOOD! I would get this again. Atmosphere - Can't speak to the store front but they have a great looking pop up type of set up, visually appealing and beach themed like a perfect day. Service - They're friendly and will answer questions you have. Cost - Around $12 so it's a treat every once in a while! Parking - Didn't go to store Location - Now I want to go to their storefront! I saw them at a foodie event at the Blaisdell before and then this time it was for a sustainability expo! It's so refreshing!

Kookaberry (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and blueberries), dairy free coconut, waffle cone, sprinkles

I love ice cream but I developed lactose intolerance as an adult, so I was genuinely overjoyed to find a non-dairy soft serve option here. I ordered the Kookaberry (raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and blueberries) with dairy free coconut in a waffle cone + dye-free sprinkles. The mix the flavors on the spot so it was fresh and flavorful. They have a food truck at the Kaka'ako Farmers Market on Saturdays (currently near the bagel stand). Nothing beats walking the market with a cone in hand on a hot summer day.

This is such a cute little spot in Kailua. Tables are available outside to eat. So glad I stopped by. It's on the corner of Uluniu and Aulike Street. The guy that was working on April 1st was very friendly, great with customers. I ordered the everything bagel. Wasn't expecting the perfect amount of cream cheese. Thank you for not being stingy. lol Next time, I'll try their ice cream. *the picture shows only one half of my bagel. I forgot to take a picture before I ate one. I'll be seeing you guys soon.

Yummy fresh and healthy ice cream! Hard to find GF/DF options - but not anymore! Great, fast service. Decent prices. Street parking is a little tricky - so can park at Walgreens if need. Glad to see this location continuing to be used by the community. SUPPORT LOCAL!

Dessert in Kailua, O'ahu, Hawai'i... I've been to Perfect Day Real Fruit Ice Cream's food truck at the Waikele Premium Outlets in Waipahu, so I knew basically what to expect! I'm so glad that they have a brick and mortar on the Windward side of the island... and an open kitchen where we could smell and see the fresh waffles (for the cones) being made! We found a metered parking stall right in front of the cozy, clean shop, which is inside - and to the left - of The Collective... a tattoo parlor and gallery. Service by the young couple was cheerful, friendly, and efficient! They answered all of our questions and were very personable! I got the Kookaberry fruits (blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, and blackberry) mixed into the coconut (non-dairy) soft serve. It was yummy and had a healthy, natural feel to it! The cone was crisp and delicious, too! I'm looking forward to returning! It's fun to watch the creation of the dessert!

New storefront in Kailua- opened on 8/1/25! New Zealand style real fruit ice cream! Drove by only.

What a perfect day for something cool on a sunny afternoon. Perfect parking around the corner so it was perfect to stop by. No customer near dinner time so it was perfect timing! I got to ask many questions and Emilee was so patient and gracious. I was debating to get one for mom too, since mom loves açaí bowls and I landed up sharing part of mines with my mom! Her half survived the ride home with no signs of melting and even made a pit stop at Zippy's. The cup fitted perfectly in the car cup holder! Their signature açaí swirl is what I got and it was made from the açaí and kookaberry which is blueberry strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry and using a coconut ice cream base. It was served like a soft serve, yet it stayed cold and firmed for a while. Toppings enhanced my dessert with coconut flakes, waffles cone crumbles, and cacao nibs and topped with peanut butter drizzle! It was cool as she prepared my Açaí Swirl. It was a New Zealand Style which was the processed in making it. She topped my swirl with pretty edible marigold which was too pretty to eat, but the flowers in my swirl really brightened my day! I'm looking forward to trying the other real fruit base. There was a first layer of coconut base which is used in my açaí swirl than with the açaí and kookaberry flavored real fruit coconut based ice cream and even the mango one looked divine! There was about a menu of 4 based flavors and added toppings. Her young son was there and there was a tip jar aka Liam's college fund! This place used to be the old Lilikoi Kitchen located inside the tattoo place called Collective Tattoo Cafe and Gallery. Perfect Day fruit Ice cream just opened 8/1/25 at their new storefront on Uluniu St. Previously they were serving real fruit ice cream from their cute wagon at the Lokahi Market down the street. They are open daily til 8pm. Right now they are opened from 8:30 am, since they are serving bagels and coffee (even coffee float) but may decide to open at a later time in the morning. New Zealand Style is the processed they do to make the ice cream. Anyways, it was refreshing and for my stomach sake, I rather have real fruit with the coconut base! You can choose vanilla (dairy} ice cream. Service was excellent and Emilee was so sweet and helpful. Perfect day to try Perfect Day Real Fruit Ice Cream! I Can't wait to try the other swirls such as Maui Sunset or Laveder Haze!

@fortunefoodfinds: "Now's the PERFECT time to treat yo'self! A Maui Sunset: strawberry/mango vanilla base topped with a lilikoi drizzle, coconut flakes, n' waffle cone bits from PERFECT DAY REAL FRUIT ICE CREAM new storefront in Kailua. Creamy n' fruity, a thing of beauty!" Staff: friendly Interior: shared space, some bar seating, also serve coffee n' bagels Exterior: has a sidewalk sign, limited table seating Wait time: 5 mins between ordering to receiving dessert Parking: metered street Overall comments: the first time I had them was at the Kaka'ako Farmers Market last year under a different name. When I saw that they opened a storefront I knew it would be the perfect treat after a beach day in Kailua. Ice cream was fresh tasting from the real fruit n' I liked the mango chunks throughout the ice cream swirl. Toppings were a great combo, you get the sweet n' tartness from the lilikoi drizzle n' the crunch from the waffle bits. Nicely presented n' yuMmmy!

Perfect day is our favorite ice cream! It's so fresh, delicious, & healthier. They are usually at a few night markets we go to. We were in the area so decided to check out their store front. Cute little spot tucked in the corner, in a shared space in a tattoo shop and seating area outside. We went on a Friday night at 7:30pm, street parking right in front. There was one family in front of us and only 1 worker. There were 7 of us but service was fast. I got the funky monkey in a cone and it was so good. Everyone was so happy and it was definitely a perfect day/night with the family. Highly recommend them and always looking forward to seeing them at the next night market or will visit when we are in the area.

Perfect Day truly lives up to its name! What a way to start, pause, or end your day. It is a quaint local shop with such charm. The owner served us and was extremely personable. He walked us through step by step, explaining the ice cream making process and the story behind the business. He gave suggestions, allowed us to sample, and wanted to make sure we were happy with our choice. It was more than just grabbing a cup of ice cream; it was an experience! I loveeee that you get to build your cup with each ingredient, and that it is made with real fruit. The homemade bagel bread with the cream cheese was the cherry on top! A must try that will truly brighten your day!

We got dessert from this food trailer at the craft fair at Windward Mall and we're really happy with how delicious it was. They had several options for fruit mix-ins including strawberry mango blueberry and a mixed fruit option. They have several bases for the ice cream, including vanilla and coconut. This is the first time I've seen ice cream with the fruit mixed in right in front of you and it worked really well! Looking forward to the next time we run into them.

We had them come out for a work event. We got to choose between Mango, strawberry and kookoberry (mixed berry)). We also could get sprinkles and waffle cone bits as toppings. The ice cream is very flavorful and not too sweet. You can definitely taste the fresh mango fruit mixed into the ice cream, the staff are also so nice! They got the idea from visiting New Zealand. One of my favorite places! Go visit them for great ice cream!

This is the cute spot. Cute outside eating and love the New Zealand style- bring back Hokey Pokey!!!! Emily is great and love the texture and flavors. Looks hidden but look for the mermaids. They were fast and outside eating is available. Love the extra stories of the New Zealand experience. We will be back!

After much anticipation due to them being closed for the holidays and working through figuring out…read moretheir schedule, we finally got a chance to head over to their evening location for a taste of that fresh Big Island lobster! They park their truck in what I overheard is on the property of one of their friends (what a cool friend!) and as such there isn't really much ambience on the street - next door there is a dive bar and there's not much else going on in the evenings, but they get credit for at least putting out some charming tables out front for customers, and making the best to work with what they've got. I ordered the combo, lobsta roll + lobster bisque. On a chilly night this hit the spot. The lobster was definitely fresh, although I felt like the roll took away from the flavor on some bites. Maybe the lobster wasn't packed in like I'm used to but hey, quality over quantity is okay by me. The bisque didn't blow me away but it was solid. Service was friendly and prompt, and I appreciate their efforts in using compostables over single use plastics (aside from the admittedly cute lobster pinned on top of the sandwich, which might i suggest to make this more Ocean Friendly by making it a paper flag)? I'm always mindful of the impact of single use trash/plastics guys, if you haven't noticed from my previous reviews. With all that said, I appreciate their use and support of locally caught lobsters which not only supports our local fisherman but also ensures the freshest and therefore most delicious seafood option, and for that they have my support. Totally worth their reasonable prices for what you get. I'll be back again when the craving for lobster rolls rolls back in, although their poke does look pretty bomb diggity so maybe I will try that too! Maybe this time I'll check 'em out in the daytime at their other location - I have a feeling the daytime vibe will feel more energetic!

Let me start by I wasn't expecting too much. I ended up driving around a couple times cuz I didn't…read moreknow where they were located but once I found the truck it was situated in a parking lot with plenty of parking. They have a nice set up with a table and some chairs under an umbrella in case you decide you want to eat there. I ordered their lobster roll and lobster bisque combo for $20. The lobster bisque came out in a small to go cup and was served with a small toasted square of Kings sweet bread and some fresh herbs. The bisque was good with chunks of lobster meet, a creamy stock, and a little bit of cauliflower. I was surprised by this but I ended up liking it as it added some texture without taking away from the lobster. The lobster roll was served on a perfectly toasted Kings roll with a side of lemon. The lobster tasted like it was grilled with butter and then they add some greens, radish sprouts, and a little but of egg salad. It seemed like he used a whole lobster for the lobster roll (albeit a small one) as there was a healthy mix of tail and claw meet. I liked how he added some egg salad and again it added a surprise to the roll without taking away the focus from the lobster. I ended up ordering another roll and left pleasantly full. I spent some time talking to Dustin afterwards and he's still trying to get the feel for things and he's also trying to figure out where he'll set up in town. He expects business to pick up significantly when he does but for now hurry up and head over to his Kailua spot before word gets out and you have to wait in line.
