Stay Away! I had been a LOYAL customer for over 23 years and I don't know if the lack of customer service is a result of Mike's kids and his friends taking over the business, but I will say that nobody has EVERY treated me with such DISRESPECT as the owner, Mike--again, whom I've known for over 20 years as a customer. I drove over 2 hours today to get a hub cap replaced after it had fallen off after a $525 brake job a month prior. Long story short, he (Mike, the owner) literally grabbed his desk to protect himself from LUNGING at me and said loudly "You're a HORRIBLE person!" He shouted this and his eyes bulged after I called him a day prior to make sure it was okay for me to stop by for the replacement hub cap. I had to pull over and talk to a friend to figure out the next steps after this VERBAL ASSAULT. I'm SERIOUS, when I said he lunged at me and said the aforementioned comment with sheer hatred. I had NEVER IN MY LIFE been treated like this and I'm biting my tongue and still thinking about taking legal action for his BLATANT DISRESPECT! Mike Penta, the owner of Perfection Auto Body, is the best auto body service in the state of Massachusetts. He always takes care of his customers cars and takes care of anyone. I first met him 15 years ago, when my car was hit-and-run one night. All shops estimated $6K worth of damage, which I could not afford so I drove around for a year with a damaged car. Mike was able to fix my car, pull the dents, and get it to perfect working order for much less. I really appreciate that. Now I bring in all my cars and my friends' cars too. He'll come out personally and do the work himself. It's the little touches, like buffing our yellowed headlights for free, or adding touch-up paint to the cars. His entire team is incredibly nice as well. read more

Mike Penta at Precision Auto Body was clear and fair in handling a non-insurance repair on my Volvo (smashed taillight, some bumper damage and body panel). Mike said no problem with my ordering and providing an OEM taillight assembly, which I got online and which brought down the cost a lot. Mike also said he could repair an expensive body panel and I didn't need to replace it as another shop said was necessary. My 2006 BMW sedan got rear ended last year with the trunk lid, rear bumper, and rear quarter panel damaged. Other repair shops that I went to wanted to replace the entire quarter panel which would have been very expensive. I spoke with Joe Penta at Perfection Auto and he assured me that they would be able to pull out the dent on the rear quarter panel and repair it for a lower cost. He was also upfront with me that they would use a junkyard part to replace my trunk lid. After they fixed my car, it looked good as new and paint job was great. The new paint matched the rest of my car and it was a difficult color to match because it was a two tone color. A year later, the paint still looks great. read more

Great customer service, amazing price, high quality work and very quick turnaround. I highly recommend! I scraped the side of my car in a parking garage. I had some damage to the rear passenger side of my car. I wasn't filing a claim and was looking for the cheapest option to fix the 'must fixes" ( I didn't care too much about the cosmetic dents in my rear passenger car) The whole process was incredibly easy. I went in for an estimate, dealt with Mike, and he gave me a very fair and good estimate of $300-500 and offered to do the work in the same day. I dropped my car off at 8 and it was done the same day at 1. The work was thorough and it came to $350. The work was well done and exactly what I had asked them to do. I recently moved to the area and finding a new, helpful, trustworthy, affordable mechanic is always tricky (especially as a woman who admittedly doesn't know much about cars). But I lucked out!! My roommate suggested I go to Perfection Auto Body and I'm so glad she did! I've been in twice now, and they have been absolutely stellar both times! The first time I went in because something under my car was rattling SO loudly. I told them I thought perhaps a bolt had been knocked off when I parked on a very uneven driveway. They figured it out, put in a new bolt in under 20 minutes (I went in at 7am on a Saturday in hopes of finding a slow time), and when I asked how much, he said "Don't worry about it; it was only a bolt and not much time. You're new to the area, just be our new customer." So when my check engine light came on a week or so ago, I didn't hesitate about where to go. I brought my car back and they told me that the codes indicated that I needed a new coil and spark plugs. When I talked to them later they were kind enough to say "It looks like you just got new spark plugs recently -- like maybe before you moved out here -- so we only switched the coil." Some places might use that as a way to charge more, but they were honest and so helpful. Highly, highly recommend! read more

Perfection Auto Body (also known as Penta) was highly recommended to me by my co-workers when I told them how I backed into a moving truck. I know, I know, the truck was BIG, how could I hit it? But I was looking for oncoming traffic, drinking coffee, talking on my cellphone, putting on mascara, and eating a bagel - how could I be expected to see the truck? Ok, really, the only thing I was doing was looking for oncoming traffic, the truck was just in my blind spot. Anyway. It's easy to get a quote from Perfection. Just show up and they'll take a look. Because of the high recommendations of my co-workers, I didn't even bother getting a quote from someone else. They took my car, and four business days later I had a trunk that could open and was newly painted, along with a newly painted bumper. UPDATE: Someone in Brighton did a jig on my roof last weekend. (How do I know? There were footprints!) My sunroof would no longer open, and there was a gap between the roof and the sunroof that was just begging for some rain to leak in. Or pee, knowing Brighton residents. Mike banged out the dent for not much money... but left dirty hand prints all over the interior of the roof, and scratched up the finish on the outside quite a bit. He told me to return on a Saturday morning to get the paint touched up (for free), but I don't really WANT to go back... That being said, it could have cost me upwards of $3k to have a perfect new roof. So, for an autobody guy, Mike's a little sloppy. But very nice, quick, and not that expensive. I will be returning next time something happens to what used to be my lovely new-used car. Sigh. In less than a year, my car has been stolen, I backed into a truck, and someone danced a jig on my roof. I think Mother Earth is telling me to ditch the vehicle! read more

I'll put it as blunt as possible but this whole business is a scam. I took my 2015 dodge challenger here to get some body work done and not only did Mike the owner and his son lie to me they also scammed me. When I first brought my car there Mike told me that I would need a whole new fender on my car. They decided to keep my car for one whole week and when I picked up my car I had a nail in one of my tires and that "new fender" wasn't new. They decided to hammer out the original one and then had the guts to tell me that they were pretty sure they put a new fender on my car. You could clearly tell by looking at my car that the fender they "replaced" was still damaged because the middle of the fender was dented in half and when you put your hand inside the wheel well you could feel all the damage and whatever glue or clay they used to try and bend everything back together. I then decided to call them outright on their bluff and they then decided to come back at me with "your insurance didn't give us enough money for a new fender". In my mind that's odd because in the beginning you were telling me that this auto body shop would replace the entire fender on my car. They finally budged and told me that in order to make it up to me they would call my Insurence back out and order me a factory fender so it would look good as new. Another 2 days goes by (seems odd they could get a factory fender that quick and painted right?) and I pick up my car only then to find out that it's an aftermarket fender that doesn't even fit properly on my car. The passenger door rubs and the creases that run alongside the car weren't even lined up. Clearly they pocketed some of this money because my insurance give them $6500 which is more than enough to find room for a factory fender and the accident wasn't even that bad on my car. For all you people out there I beg you to not to come to this place if you care about your car. I learned that if you don't want to be scammed by this business ask your insurance company for an approved MAPFRE insurence list of autobody shops because if an approved MAPFRE insurence autobody shop scams you MAPFRE will have have your back. With that being said scamfection autobody shop is not an approved autobody shop in MAPFRE's eyes so if you get scammed here you're on your own like me. I had such a top notch experience with Perfection Auto Body in Watertown. I reached out to request an online quote and received a message back within 2 minutes. I had 2 severe cracks and gashes in my rear bumper. The quote was 1/3 the price of the dealer, they took me in almost immediately and fixed it perfectly in a day. They also always answer their phone which is incredible. It is so refreshing to do business with an Auto Body shop that does craftmanship work, is responsive and friendly. Had to get my car towed and repaired after it died on the freeway. Perfection auto has both a tow service and an auto body service. The tow service was not as reliable or reputable but the auto body service side is very good! They have good service, fair prices, and quick turnaround. Mike is a nice and honest man with a good sense of humor. I had called several times about my car as it was taking longer than expected but he let me know he was down to 3 out of 7 of his guys and that he would get my car into the service garage by the evening and have it looked at first thing the next day. I had again called a little after they opened the next morning and he had someone already looking at it - he called me back soon after and told me what was wrong and that he could have it fixed by the late afternoon if I wanted as he already ordered the part for me - it was a much cheaper fix than I was expecting so I gave him the go ahead. I looked up the cost of a new crank position sensor and his quote was on the highest end of the range but it was still in range. I had asked him if my battery needed replacing as the two people that had towed my car (one off the freeway, one to perfection) and each took a quick peek under my hood (at different times) and told me that my battery looked old and corroded and likely needed replacing. Mike told me it was something that should be fixed soon but that it wasn't the problem that had caused my car to stop. His estimate for the battery not having looked up the prices was around 160 or so. As I had called O'Reilly to look up the battery prices for my car I knew the price ranged from 110-150 depending on the battery- the call person at O'Reilly confirmed they could have someone put the battery in for me without charge too. I just had mike fix the crank position sensor then drove my car over to O'Reilly's. My car worked fine when I drove it. At O'Reilly's my battery cost $150. If I had known, I would have saved myself the time and just had Mike do it for around the same price! But now I know for the future what I'd do and who I'd take my car too. TLDR: honest hard working guys, Mike is the best! They are fast to pick up the phone and respond. Prices are fair and they have late hours to pick up your car (until 9pm) even when the auto body shop is closed (at 6pm). I was impressed by how fast it was to fix one it got into their hands and liked that they didn't try to up-sell me. read more

In summary, NEVER GO HERE. My car's hood, grille, and radiator were replaced here. They superglued the grille on. They gave me an old radiator, and the hood was not flush with the body. Also, my digital camera was stolen from my car (but that is partially my fault for leaving it in there). After they completed the work, I broke down on the way to work, leaking transmission fluid because they did not put the transmission lines on right. I had the car towed there and they fixed that for free, but my transmission was never the same. I also had an oil leak shortly thereafter, but I had that fixed at Sullivan Tire in Watertown. They have courtesy rides, but they always suggested taking my car. One time, an employee took me to work in a beater. The employee told me that he would never get ANYTHING done by Perfection (aka Penta). I ended up getting a new car because of this. read more

The sweet sweet town of Brookline with their sweet sweet parking laws had me in quite the tizzy when my sweet sweet innocent little Hyundai was towed to never-never land, away from its comfy little makeshift (read: illegal) parking space to a scary, faraway place called Watertown. What is neat about Brookline and their aforementioned sweet sweet parking laws is that when they have your car towed, they don't just let you know where they've taken your little baby -- they actually make you go on a little scavenger hunt. Fun times in the sweet sweet town of Brookline! First, I had to go to the interesting and riveting Brookline Police Station and prove that I was myself. This is no easy task! I spend so much time being me that I tend to forget what it takes to be me. But the super helpful officer only laughed at me for three-and-a-half minutes and then handed me a piece of paper and told me that what I'd find written on that little square would change my life. I looked at the paper and there were the three magical words: Perfection Auto Body. Wow! My little innocent Hyundai was towed to a Perfect Place. I breathed a sigh of relief and off I went, out of the interesting police station. I skipped with joy outside when it dawned on me that I had no actual way of getting to Perfection Auto Body without the use of my innocent car. Oh no! I thought that the town of Brookline with their sweet sweet parking laws would send my innocent vehicle to a safe nearby place in Brookline, but that was not the case. A cool and totally socially active friend of mine took time out of his excessively busy Friday night schedule to drive me to Watertown and I was greeted by the team of car-sitters. They told me that my innocent car had been very well behaved during its stay there and that they would miss it if I took it home with me (but they understood.) They charged a nice chunk of change for car-sitting, but they told me that the town of Brookline (the one with the sweet sweet parking laws) actually took a big amount out of what Perfection made and they agreed that the town of Brookline's sweet sweet parking laws were very sweet indeed. A helpful staff member took me out to a nice, well-lit, secured lot where other innocent cars enjoyed their car-sitting experiences, and the helpful staff member even followed me out to the front to make sure my innocent car and I got out safely and we knew how to get home. I no longer live in the town of Brookline and therefore, cannot partake in their sweet sweet parking laws as much as I used to, but I hope that if my innocent car ever desires to be taken care of by the car-sitters, that Perfection Auto Body takes care of it. They're really excellent at keeping innocent cars safe until you are ready to learn to move out of the town of Brookline or get a darn parking spot! read more

Mike at Perfection is one of the nicest, least intimidating auto body guys a woman would want to deal with. I brought in my Honda to replace a bumper and the folks at Perfection handled all the details. They will get you a ride to the rental car shop, work with the insurance companies and be generally responsive and easy to get a hold of on the phone. It did take them a little bit longer to get my car done than they'd promised after appraising the damage again, which is the only reason why they lost a star. I think it's also important to note that Mike has an entire wall of thank you letters from his customers that I spent about 10 minutes reading. Let's start by saying this was my SECOND car accident in FOUR months... A very big hummer plowed right into the side of me on a snowy day, and it was my 21st birthday :( I was not happy. The tow truck came for my car and I said I had no idea where to bring my car and he made some phone calls and said he would take me to the best, which was Perfection Auto Body in Watertown. It took close to 6 weeks for my car to be finished. Yes, I was annoyed. But factor in the week of Christmas + New Years and then snow storm after snow storm which delayed the parts. Also, the place is HUGE, they were working on so many cars I couldn't even believe it. I kept on top of it, calling almost every day for the last 2 weeks, and they were always apologetic and honest. Although insurance paid, I recieved the estimate, and the labor was ridiculously cheap and didn't even come close to what I thought. They have a car wash right next door so my car was nice and shiney, but I noticed my door ajar light on. I walked back in and they replaced the sensor within minutes without a single complaint. Also, I had a full tank of gas.... maybe it was full when I got in that accident, I can't remember, but I kinda doubt it. Either way, the fact that it wasn't empty shocked me. MOST IMPORTANTLY, the entire reason I gave this place 5 stars even though they took so long was that when I got my car back my iPod was sitting right in the cup holder. SERIOUSLY?? I know it wasn't there because I tried to grab most of my stuff, it must have been under the seat or something, and I noticed it missing and figured if it had been in the car it certainly would be gone now (my fault, who leaves a $300 iPod in their car at a garage for 6 weeks??) but it was RIGHT THERE. It looked a little worn, maybe someone borrowed it, but whatever thanks for giving it back!! I am soo happy I don't have to buy a new one!! Yay honest people!! P.S. A few weeks before my accident I had gotten a very flat tire, beyond repair, and had an ugly spare on it. I never got a chance to buy a matching tire and then I had my accident. I just realized this morning I now have 4 matching Subaru tires again! This tire had NOTHING to do with the accident, on the total other side of the car! Extremely considerate. read more

This review is for the mechanical shop. They have (at least) four businesses: a gas station, a towing business, a body shop, and the repair/mechanical part. I agree with the love-hate thing. Honest, hard working, busy busy busy, you sort of have stay on them. They will work FOREVER, for free, to get it right if they dont nail it the first time, which is great. The downside is: I know this for a fact, it's happened to me at least 3x. Eventually, and somewhat sadly, I went to another shop. Some posters have been going there for generations. We were introduced to them by a life-long Newtonite (Newtonian?), and every time we went in there, it was: "hey, how's Arty?" Kind of nice. I miss these guys, I genuinely liked going there, but I think they're a bit too busy, and I live far enough away that I couldnt justify going back for redos. But they're honest and hard-working. read more
