I lucked into this wonderful auto repair center when I searched for ones near me and found this one only a few block away. What can I say that will convince you of their fabulousness? 1) They're very kind. I've only ever dealt with Douglas but he's very friendly and happy to explain everything and answer all my questions. (Contrast this with my dad, who for years did all my car repair but would grumble and complain about it every step of the way.) 2) They're very quick. I had an issue over the weekend with my starter and they had me tow the car there and had it fixed the same day! I was shocked, anticipating having to cancel appointments for a few days while waiting for the repairs to be completed. Sometimes I have had to leave the car overnight but only because they needed to order a part, and even then the part was sent overnight and the car fixed the very next day. (Contrast this with my stupid dealer who, when I went to a scheduled appt for a recall, didn't have the part they needed even though I'd scheduled the appt six weeks previously.) 3) They have an emergency road service contract (a la AAA) and you can use it anytime. Since I have AAA I haven't used it but I might next time I need to. They told me I can be reimbursed for the AAA tow through their contract. Seriously, if you are even remotely near this place, I highly recommend you go here. They're really fantastic. read more

I'm going to lay it all out on the table. I have diddly squat for automotive experience, and it was with great dismay that I saw my check engine light come on the dash. Went to my dealership and got a ridiculous quote. I am, however, pretty good at google-fu so I did a whole bunch of research on pricing and shopped around. The quote that I got from Waltham Auto Service Center beat the dealer by a mile and other shops by a couple of hundred. For the cherry on top, they finished servicing my car day-of. They say you can only choose two out of three of these: good service, good price, and speed. Not here. I gotta commend, Jose the mechanic and the manager Doug for running a top notch shop. I'll happily uber 30 minutes to and from my house for any service I'll ever need in the future (hopefully not too often). read more

I was able to drop my car off in the morning before they opened and leave them my keys, and they fixed everything by the same evening. I will never take my car anywhere else. Honest mechanics, good work, GREAT prices! I needed a lot of work before the winter and then booked a job where I was traveling for 8 months straight, so my battery died. I thought I was going to have to replace the battery along with all the other stuff but Douglas had them just recharge the battery and he didn't even charge me for that service. I brought a quote in that I had been given from another mechanic and he was honest and straight forward about what needed to get done right then and there and what could wait. It was refreshing to feel like my finances were really being considered. Douglas is amazing, very welcoming and genuine. I will continue to recommend them to everyone I meet. Stellar customer service, high quality work, fair prices, quick service. I have gotten my car serviced at Waltham Auto Service Center several times - usually for minor repair and servicing, and they have always been great - Douglas and Jose are always friendly, accommodating, responsive, easy to communicate with (answers the phone right away, calls you back when they say they will, etc), and timely in getting the work done. More recently, I had to have my car towed there after it wouldn't start. They called me right away to tell me what was wrong (starter), and were able to replace the starter the next day. Several weeks later, my car wouldn't start again. When I called them, they told me to hold off on having it towed and they would come look at it first (at my house!), so that I might be able to avoid another tow - while it didn't seem to be related to the starter (based on my description of the issue) they guarantee their service, and clearly stand by their work. Once Douglas (the owner) arrived, I realized that with all my attempts to start my car I ran out of gas (duh!) - not only did he not make me feel like a complete idiot (though I was!), he went down to the gas station to get gas, filled my tank and got my car started (the starter was definitely not the issue). He then offered for me to come by the shop to have a more detailed assessment to ensure there wasn't something more going on. Once there, they looked at it right away, and were able to rule out the alternator etc. While I never would expect this level of customer service ANYWHERE, it was such a relief to have my car issues addressed, and such a gift to have them be so generous with their time while ensuring that their work was top notch and complete. While I would never expect them to make a house call, they certainly went above and beyond to make sure that, as their customer, I was taken care of. Truly the best customer service I have experienced in a very long while, and more importantly, they ensured that my car was fixed and running with the least amount of hassle. had asked about getting check engine light/service engine soon on my car diagnosed and then fixed the person who emailed me was very vague didn't explain it enough and wanted to charge me way to much($115.00 just to have the check engine light./service engine soon light diagnosed not even repaired the problem I have gotten estimates from few other shops and they charge way less than this shops check engine light/service engine soon light charge of $115.00 they either charged flat rate $100.00 diagnostics charge or no charge at all for diagnostics no way will i go here again for any services they seem to want to charge you hourly while not even looking at your car bad business right off the phone and 2 emails someone should changed there polices if they want to run a business either charge a flat rate to diagnose or charge nothing to diagnose but charge to fix will get way more customers that way they have a lot of great reviews other than this so either they ripped other people off without them knowing or they just don't understand the industry and how much things should cost and expect from a auto repair shop! read more
