I had my vehicle towed here for diagnosis and repair. I agreed to get a new remanufactured engine installed. I paid the upfront parts cost of $3687.20 and agreed to pay the $1200 labor cost upon completion. Tony, the manager, explained that it would take 3 days for the engine to arrive and two days for the labor to install it. It was a Sunday and he said it would be done on Friday and ready to be picked up. Every time I call for an update he has a different excuse for why it is not done and says it will be done by the end of the day the next day. It has now been one month. I don't know what the real story is, or when I can get my vehicle back from this place. If it is the case that they have done nothing, I would like my money back and be able to take the car to a reputable repair facility to get it fixed. I have video recording of the most recent of the in-person encounters with Tony, the manager, where he says it would be done the next day. Of course it was not done the next day and it has been four days since then. I would call for an update but the updates are meaningless as he always says it will be done tomorrow. He promised a transmission service to make up for the lost time and I hope that he comes through with that. I would like it if they decide to do the work as agreed on, and for the work to be acceptable so that I can update this review and bring it up from one star. If Tony does everything promised in the next few days, I think I could go up to four stars. I would still have to subtract one star for taking over one month instead of five days that was promised. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB and the BAR. It is now up to the company how they want to respond to the complaints. Will they complete the job or will this have to go to civil court? read more

My first experience here was a couple months ago getting my VW GTi smogged. Everything was quick, easy and reasonably priced. They also did a quick alignment check for free and gave me a printout of the results when I picked the car up. That's clearly a way for them to sell alignments, but I didn't feel pressured into anything and it was a free service. Today I came in again, except this time I was smogging my off-road toy, which a lot of shops won't even go near. It's basically a completely custom built truck with nothing original inside. The engine is from another vehicle, which scares a lot of shops, but it's all been done in accordance with CARB rules and it has the Referee sticker showing exactly what needs to be there, so in terms of smog tests, it's really not drastically different from anything else. These guys didn't hesitate to take the truck in, and got the smog done without issue. I also asked them if they could check the alignment, knowing that there would probably be an issue since absolutely none of the suspension resembles anything that came out of any factory. They said they would give it a shot. Clearly because of the custom nature they didn't have a good baseline vehicle to input into the computer, but they were able to get me the current measurements, which is all I needed. I'd really call this service above and beyond. Most places just shake their head at me, these guys were willing to at least try, and they succeeded in everything I needed. I'll be back with my other vehicles for sure. read more

I would write a review if they would work on my vehicle. I went in for a smog check, Star Certified, on May 8th and had a coupon for $ 38.25 out the door. I was told they could not smog it as it was supposed to be taken to a Star certified station and they weren't one until June of 2019. Excellent service! We took my Subaru WRX in to change out the AC compressor. After having to get a few parts (turned out the pulley thing had seized and belts were bad because of that), it only took an hour or so. They gave my husband a military discount in the form of not charging tax and the gentleman at the front was very professional and friendly. A month later, my air conditioning wasn't working so I brought it back in. It was just a ring seal issue and they replaced that and refilled the freon at no charge. At my visit here I ran into another WRX owner. Turns out he used to work at this shop and he assured me this shop was a good place to go for my Subaru. If another WRX owner can recommend this place and with the great service I experienced, I trust this auto shop and will likely use them for all my maintenance needs while in Escondido. read more

My brakes were shot and said they could do it that same day even though it was almost 5 o'clock and close to closing time. One of the mechanics was willing to work overtime to get my car done. They had Uber give me a ride home at their expense . There was a problem with my shims so they were not able to finish my car that day but had Uber come and pick me up and they gave me a loaner car for the night. These guys failed to transmit my smog test results to the DMV resulting in a ticket and a long afternoon at the DMV because we didn't notice that the new registration sticker never arrived. Fortunately I had the test results and receipt which the DMV accepted and issued a sticker right away. The paper work from the smog check had a little note that the tester declined to issue a certificate despite the fact that the car passed and they charged me for the certificate. I didn't notice it as it wasn't very prominent and the guy told me it was all taken care of and would be transmitted electronically. read more

Walked in with no appointment thinking I was at a different place where an appointment was not necessary. These guys are not honest, and only appear to be professionals. I had all my oil changes done here for almost 2 years, and when my car developed an oil leak I had another mechanic check my oil pan to find out that the crush washer was not replaced as it should have been for each oil change. Because I wanted a Honda dealer to check on it and diagnose the problem I took it to Honda in Escondido. They found out that not only was the washer an issue but the drain hole in the oil pan was stripped! When I went to the shop to tell them they accused the Honda dealer of doing the damage, and said how could it have been done by PAC, and why didn't I bring the car to them with the problem. I think it is obvious why I did not want to take the car back to them! I reported the shop to the Bureau of Automotive Repair, a California agency, they investigated and visited PAC only to hear the same story and not offering any compensation at all, except to do the repair. What person in their right mind would take a car back to a place that was this negligent? Gathering my documentation and going to small claims. read more
