Went there to get High Press Fuel Pump replaced. There prices are 1/3 of what BMW charges and also comes with warranty. When they order parts, they send you tracking number so you don't have to keep calling to ask if the parts are there. These guys know what they are doing and started working on the car right away even though it was burning hot. (I had to go somewhere). So I was in an out in an hour with a new HPFP when BMW wanted to keep the car all day. read more

I usually don't like to leave negative reviews for small business owners but this had to be said. This is long over due but I would avoid Greg and his shop at all cost. All the positive reviews are from his friends so I would not trust most of them. I went in for rod bearings and a bunch of other maintenance while my car was in there. Greg had the audacity to charge me and continue to work on my car and it's other maintenances when he told me it needed a new motor AFTER he completed the rod bearings. Like wth if it's not fixable and it needs a new motor why would you continue to perform the other maintenances and charge the customer for it. Very unprofessional, Greg misdiagnosed my car and said he was able to fix it. 2.5k later spent on rod bearings and then he told me that my car needed a new motor. When I brought it in it was my main concern that it would need a new motor and Greg assured me it was just the rod bearings and then after he replaced it Greg realized it was not salvageable and then he twisted his words and told me that he said that this was a possibility when he ASSURED from the start, it was fixable. On top of that when I went to pick up my car, things in the engine bay weren't completely put back together and Greg blamed his colleagues for the mistake. It seemed like it was a rushed job even though Greg had my car for ~2 months+, It has me question the overall quality of work. In the end I cut my losses and paid for a broken car and will avoid his shop at all cost, if I had seen the other one star review that Greg received about his work I would have avoided this place from the start. There are much better priced, quality, shops in the Bay Area then at Performance Dynamic. read more

Cars : - 2008 E90 335i FBO 85k miles - *Upcoming* 2000 E39 540i manual 190k miles E90 : I first took my E90 to Performance Dynamic for a Walnut Blasting and was shocked they quoted me at HALF of what my previous shop did. Greg sent me messages through their ShopMonkey platform in real time to let me know how my car was doing as well as sent several pictures of each intake valve before and after the Walnut Blasting. Not only were the Before and After pictures like night and day, but so was the performance of my car. I also had a list of things I stored in my notes on my phone about possible mods and where I should take the platform at its current state. This shop is awesome! I have a 2008 bmw 335i. One day coming back from work my Hks Blow off valve flew off the chargepipe because the snap ring holding it in became loose. It wasn't the first time but I wasn't able to install it back myself the ring wouldn't go under the groove no matter what I did. So I decided to reach out to him and ask him for some help he told me to stop by the shop. Once I arrived at the shop, I let him know what the problem was and he took a look at it after battling it out with the ring for a few minutes it finally went under the groove. He's also a really cool and nice person. The customer service was awesome will be back to install my Downpipes and do maintenance. The absolute best shop to take your car if you have anything wrong or even want some things done. My water to air heat exchanger got a hole in it and was leaking, I called the folks up and told them my issue. Within an hour of dropping my car off they told me what needed to be replaced and how much it would be. They recommend an upgraded heat exchanger that has a guard for rocks so I'd never have that issue again. My latest experience was installing some lowering springs. I asked for a recommendation and within the next hour my parts were ordered and I got a great installation. They took good care of my car and did a thorough check to make sure the car was in good working order before I left the shop. Along with getting fantastic service here I was able to chit chat with the folks here for another half hour and they gave me some recommendations on what I should do next to get to the power level that I want in the car. Kyle had great attention to detail and even went above and beyond in cleaning out debris that had gotten into the bumper areas the were clogging the airflow of the previous radiators. I was in the market for a BMW E46 M3 6spd coupe in Imola red late 2019. Couldn't find anything deserving here locally, so I made the leap and purchased what I was looking for in another state. Couldn't be happier. My M3 is not a daily driver. Meant for smiles per gallon only. Fast forward 6 months later, I noticed a clunk like sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. Many Sunday morning cruises later, the clunking was progressing. I called Greg at performance dynamic regarding my issue. He stated he had a positive idea what it is, but still insisted on having me come in for confirmation and estimate. Upon arrival, he inspected the vehicle carefully, cut no corners during overview, in a way that he was inspecting the vehicle as if he was going to purchase it for himself. As mentioned, he confirmed the problem and what was needed to fix it, along with a written estimate already prepared. He gave me two options for repair. Of course one option was more expensive than the other. He insisted on the less costly option and he did not once try to upsale me. He actually insisted on the lesser option to be honest. We made an appointment which was within a few days away from initial inspection. The repair was complete and vehicle was ready for pickup the next business day. I couldn't be happier. No more clunking. Also needed other minor issued address, which he did at no charge. I didn't decide to have my vehicle worked on at Performance dynamic because Greg has experience with BMW's and came highly recommended, or because he's a mutual friend and I should support the fast growning shop, or the fact he was the cheapest estimate around. I chose performance dynamic because being honest and trustworthy goes along way with me. Finding a shop that won't leave your bank account crying is hard to come by. I no longer have that issue. Recently, my e92 335i Bimmer's Sport shifting lever malfunctioned. I was only able to upshift to 3rd gear manually using the shift lever although steering paddle shifter still works. After extensive research, I concluded that the problem is caused by snapped wiring harness in the shifter assembly. It appears that, due to a poor design by BMW, there is a tight pivotal angle in the shifter assembly which causes the wire to snap, a well-known issue experienced by many e90 generation owners. I spoke to local BMW dealer and independent BMW shops about the repair. Unfortunately, they will only replace with brand new shifter at a great cost to me. Fortunately, I found Performance Dynamics in Santa Clara through a referral. The shop owner, Greg, although young but seems to be knowledgable about BMW cars. Furthermore, he is an avid Bimmer enthusiast and currently owns an e92 M3 himself (he showed me the performance tuning & upgrade he did on his Bimmer). After chatting, I learned that he was with BMW of Mountain View before opening his shop. Eventually, I asked him to patch the snapped wiring instead of replacing the entire shifter assembly. Surprisingly, it only took him an hour to complete the repair. Now, my shifter works just as fine as before. Later, I also asked Greg to grease the front brake pads to eliminate an annoying pad shifting noise. In the end, the labor cost he charged was very reasonable. But most importantly, he did a great job and saved me a boatload of money if I had gone to dealers or other shops. In the following week, per his recommendation, I also asked him to reflash my other e92 M3's DCT with the latest M3 GTS firmware. Now I have a working Sport shifting e92 335i as my daily drive and a much more responsive DCT for my weekend M3, with which both are done professionally in a cost-effective manner, to say the least. Finally, I asked Greg to provide me with various tuning options available for both Bimmers. I plan to leverage his expertise to maximize their performance potential in the future! With that said, I highly recommend Greg and his shop for any serious bimmerphiles. read more
