First and foremost--as a single woman they treat me like a real human being--never condescending or patronizing. They are honest and kind. They look out for my car and recommend only what is practical and necessary. I even stopped in once to have air put in my tires and they did it for free and with a smile! Back when this was DiPrima's, it was wonderful. I was never oversold or told I needed unnecessary repairs. Things have really changed. I was told I needed hundreds of dollars in repairs when I went in for a $17 oil change. I declined, and they told me I owed them $90 for labor since they had spent time looking the car over. I refused to pay it since I had never authorized anything other than an oil change. A relative recently took their car in for an oil change and was told the car required almost $1,000 in repairs, including work that had recently been done elsewhere. I took the car to the dealer and asked them to go over the car and tell me anything that was wrong. The answer was 'nothing found at this time'. I then handed over the list of repairs that PA claims the car needs. The service manager stated that none of that work was needed. He even noted that the one specific repair seemed to have been done recently and that it should have been obvious. I really miss the guys who used to be across the street! read more

As a middle aged professional woman with kids and a Honda Odyssey, I give Perinton Automotive 5 stars! I have owned Hondas for 27 years, and have gone to lots of repair shops. I have always felt like I have been sold something that I don't need at other shops, and left with a bad feeling. At Perinton Auto, I know the owner, Jeff, on a first name basis. Tim at the front desk does a great job getting to know his customers, and he gives them OPTIONS. He says, "You don't have to do this repair now, but you are going to want to think about it in the next 6-12 months". I have referred my sister, and our best friends, and they are very happy customers of Perinton Auto. I know that there are other service centers that have loaners, later hours, or even Sunday hours, but I truly trust the guys at Perinton Auto and would never bring my Honda anywhere else. I was at Perinton Auto Last night. My car was towed there for a brake leak. I needed the right caliber replaced and the right front break pad. They Charged me 63.69 for Break pads!!!!! Tim the guy who I dealt with was pushy trying to get me to get all rear and front break pads and rotors done and I think he was clearly annoyed I just wanted the bare minimum done to get my car up and running to I could get my car home and do the breaks myself. They absolutely overcharged me for break pads. I got the left one in the box to take home. I searched all over line for the exact brand and number break pads that it said on the box.. couldn't find any over 26.99. I will be telling my colleagues about this incident. You have lost mine and my fiancé business for good. Not trustworthy or honest. read more

After my long-term auto mechanic passed away, I was looking for a new shop where I could become a regular customer. After bouncing around to a number of different places, I tried Perinton Automotive. My initial visits went well, with the work done correctly and completed on time. The friendly staff added to my experience, and I felt I had found the right place. The clincher came when my (now former) car developed some overheating issues. I was sure this problem would be covered by my warranty,so I had the car towed to a dealer for repair. The dealer gave me a whopping estimate for over $1300 for the initial problem (and gave a "fine print" answer for why it wasn't covered). After the overheating was repaired they would then have to determine if any damage had been done to the engine,which would then be repaired at additional charges. I balked and had the car towed to Perinton Automotive. They correctly diagnosed my problem, repaired it, and assured me of no engine damage. Perinton Automotive's bill for this service came in $904 CHEAPER than the dealer's estimate!! They also determined that the dealer was going to replace my water pump, which was only two months old, in perfect working order, and not in need of replacement. This is the kind of integrity that I want in a place I have to trust for my car repair. I haven't gone anywhere else for auto maintenance since that day. The only reason I would hesitate to recommend them is because if you go to them too, I'll have to wait longer to get an appointment! read more

Very courteous and quick service! I asked for a same day appointment, and Tim managed to squeeze me in. He changed my oil and also my air filters - they have all kinds in stock so they're able to do it on the spot without having to order anything. read more

I've been going to Perinton Automotive for 3 to 4 years now and always have had excellent service. Mike has always tried to get me in and out as soon as possible, and more importantly, has always done honest work. He always explains in detail the work that needs to be done and sometimes provides different repair options when possible. Having your car break down really sucks. But it's definitely reassuring to have some you trust do the repairs. I'd recommend these guys every day of the week. It's just too bad they aren't open on Sundays... :-) read more

Just outstanding!!! For years I had serious transmission problems on my 09 Altima that was incredibly dangerous in certain situations. After multiple tries fighting with Nissan I gave up on warranty work and went to Perinton automotive with a part I ordered on Amazon with a suggested aftermarket fix I'd read about on Nissan customer forums. One employee there, Tim, investigated the problem and said "let's go after Nissan since this transmission is still under warranty". I think he could see the sad look on my face that I wasn't ready for another fight, so he actually offered to call Nissan for me and set me up with a friend of his there to take care of me. He said to me, "look, I'd love to take your money, but if it were me or a family member this is what I'd do". Around 1pm that day, after dropping my car off at Nissan, he called to follow up and see what happened. He even offered to follow up with them if I was getting a run-around. Long story short, I got a brand new transmission for free under warranty, and my car is driving like new! I am recommending this shop to everyone I know in the area. Honest, and go above and beyond. I'll be sure to take my car back when I have other work to be done. Thank you! read more
