Our collection of "Old Army Pilots & Crew" at the Perk 2025.
    Robert G.

Our collection of retired Army Pilots & Aircrew (CT Army National Guard & mostly Vietnam Vets) continues to hold court at Perk On Main at 10AM every 2nd Sunday of the month. The crepes, omelets, & various breakfast sandwiches are always well prepared & served promptly. Many thanks to Katie Hughes-Nelson and her team for another great year at the Perk! We'll be there later this morning!

A mimosa with fresh squeezed OJ and a fancy creamy latte with sprinkles!

I've been here several times over the last few years and I gotta say they are consistent! I always get a crepe (a gluten free crepe I might add) and it's made the same every time with fresh ingredients. The OJ is great plain or in a mimosa. My husband has celiacs and hasn't had an issue. They always bring the gf stuff on blue plates and also repeat that it's gf when they lay it down. It can get a bit crazy in here at times so be sure to stay close by to get your drinks yourself. They will bring the food to you but also pay attention bc sometimes it's hard to see the signs they give you at the table. Just be attentive and please please please clean up after yourself. This isn't a sit down restaurant. It's a cafe and in cafes you pick up after yourself.

    Tons of flavors for drinks

Today I tried the "frozen perk" which is their take on a Frappuccino. They give a ton of options on what to add in your frozen perk, but I asked the cashier which one was the best one and she told me about the special cookie butter flavor. I mixed this with chocolate so i essentially had a chocolate chip cookie in Frappuccino form. Needless to say it was delicious, and to me it tastes better than any starbucks frappucino I've had. Highly recommend.

One of my absolute favorite cafes EVER. I would drive (and have driven) 40+ minutes just to have brunch at Perk on Main. The cafe has so much seating (with some outlets nearby, which is a huge plus!) The staff are all super friendly, even when the place is busy. The espresso drinks I've had here have been absolutely perfect every time, and the sweet and savory breakfasts have all been great as well. Prices are relatively fair/comparable to similar cafes I've been to. Street parking is also quite cheap ($1/hour if I remember correctly) and I have never struggled to find a parking space. Honestly, I cannot recommend this cafe enough - I have introduced so many friends to it and everyone has loved it. If you're nearby, or even if you're not, consider stopping by. They have breakfast, lunch, pastries, smoothies, coffees... really all of the best options... so everyone should be able to find something here that works for them.

Very yummy, fresh ingredients! A little pricier than a quick bite but that's what you should expect from fresh. Looking forward to going back to try more options but the crepe (the New Classic) and the smoothie (the Fat Tire) I got were delicious and great portions! It was pretty busy, set up like a cafe and would be a nice spot to sit and work for a bit. It's in a shopping center on Main Street; the one thing I really didn't like was that the bathroom didn't have a changing table...I had to change my two week old on paper towels laid on the bathroom floor.

Perk is very hit-or-miss. Today, it was both. I like the online ordering system they added, and the service was quick. I really enjoyed the Pumpkin Spice Iced Chai, and I was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too sweet. On the other hand, I wasn't a huge fan of the crepe. It was crispy and overcooked; the filling was not distributed evenly so I ate the entire first half of the crepe without reaching any banana/berries. I also didn't like their peanut butter which was disappointing as someone who LOVES peanut butter and eats it on a daily basis. I imagine Perk would be a great place to study and grab a beverage because there's free wifi and it's spacious with lots of background noise if you're someone who needs noise. It's not a place to come if you're looking for amazing food.

Loved this place for meeting a friend on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Depending on what time you get t her, it might be a bit difficult to get a table because they don't rush you out - which i appreciated. You order from the counter and they bring it to your table. Got a coffee, a savory crepe and a scone to bring home for hubby. The cranberry scone may have been one of the best ever - love that they don't put a sugary glaze all over it. Parking is metered in the back lot but a few hours was only a few bucks so it's so much easier than trying to find a free spot somewhere. FYI - the bathrooms are down the hall and you need a code to get in so grab the code before you walk down the hall.

Great little convenient coffee shop. Different flavors of coffee always freshly brewed and delicious smoothies where you can see the fruit being pressed beneath your nose! The aromas make your mouth water and the prices are decent

Located in the Main Street Market is Perk on Main. We stopped in for breakfast and to try their crepes. We weren't disappointed and they came with the most amazing potatoes. The coffee was strong and rich flavored. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a variety at teas and desserts-something for everyone. The restaurant is clean and modern. They have a nice sidewalk section. The staff is super friendly. Prices are fair. We're not usually out for breakfast but when we do go out again, like Arnold, "we'll be back. "

Drink menu, fresh pastries and place to order.

The space of Perk On Main is amazing! So spacious with many areas to dine, inside and out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's conveniently located on Main Street with easy access from the large Melilli Parking Lot. The inside was a mood with dark ceilings, red walls for a pop of color, dark tables and decor and the cast of natural light beaming from the windows. We stopped in for a quick coffee and snack. There was an overwhelming list of fresh food items from crepes, smoothie bowls, burgers, salads and so much more. Their fresh baked goods presented in front at the counter looked delicious. The staff was also very knowledgeable of the baked items and very quick making our drinks We got a huge slide of Cranberry Oat Bar. To wash it down, I got a black iced coffee with raspberry flavoring and my mom who was with got an iced latte with nutty maple. The cranberry oat bar was crumbly and delicious, large enough to share. My mom loved her nutty maple latte, a flavor you don't normally see at coffee shops. My black iced coffee was okay. The coffee was light, but they went heavy on the raspberry syrup made it taste way too artificial. I love berry flavor coffees, but this one wasn't for me. I would definitely try a different coffee flavor or tea next time. I love that they had many grab & go items, fresh nut butters, bags of coffee, and local chocolate. It was like a mini market since the counter and refrigerators were set in the back of the cafe. I can see us returning to try Perk On Main's crepes and lunch items because everyone's plates looked delicious. I also need to try a different coffee or drink next time.

We love Perk on Main from the fun open atmosphere and the great view of Main Street to the friendly staff. A nice touch when you order is the cute street sign names you put on your table so the wait staff can deliver the goods. We love the crepes, smoothies, cappuccinos, breakfast burritos, cookies. You name it they do it well. They offer both savory and sweet crepes. Even burgers and salads if you aren't feeling their specialties. We eat in we order and it's always great. Highly recommend their amazing cookies as well perfect balance of soft and crispness. Love the Isabelle for a sweet crepe and you can't miss with the Popeye. Most of the breakfast dishes come with home fries and some fresh fruit. Cappuccinos though are my favorite in big oversized cups so comforting. Definitely check out for casual brunch on Main Street.

This is a (literal) hidden gem, tucked inside the Middletown Market-- this is an eco-friendly, support-small business savvy spot that features classic open seating, a cute aesthetic, amazing smoothies, and more. They also won "Best Soup in Middletown" so be sure to grab a bowl if possible! The servers are friendly and informative, and this is a great spot for studying, meeting friends, or even grabbing a quick bite on the way to work!

Is this somewhere where I can go, eat and study for a few hours???? Need a spot for school work away from home during COVID

For sure! Haven't been here since Covid hit, but pre-Covid times, this cafe was an ideal study spot. Free, fast Wi-Fi, very laid back staff that don't hassle you and a bathroom code for the toilet break, very comfortable tables and chairs for study!

I tend to swing by Thursday nights for trivia, but I've also been plenty of times during normal board game hours. This place offers plenty of fun events, in addition to a huge variety of board games. Not only that, but they offer a plentiful selection of coffees and teas, as well as frequently-changing specials that never disappoint! This recent visit, I attended trivia and I purchased a tea flight. 4 full cups of tea for a very reasonable price!! They can do any 4 flavors and ask about your preferences, so I told them I wanted to try unique/quirky teas. They did not disappoint!!! I was given 4 teas, 3 of which I purchased full supplies of immediately afterwards. Their lychee lime tea was one of my favorites--fruity with a strong and distinct lychee flavor, which was great. Chocolate chili tea was so unique, it reminded me of Mexican hot chocolate. Mountain Squall was a delicious chamomile with some minty refreshing notes, and finally, Volcanic Inferno was insanely unique and interesting! It's a strongly smoky, delicious tea that reminds me of a smoked whisky. These teas were not only delicious, but EXACTLY what I had in mind when I asked for unique teas! The cafe is so good that I'd come here for that alone--it's a bonus that there's also so many lovely games to play! There were plenty of bags of tea to purchase (I wound up snagging bags of Mountain Squall and Volcanic Inferno for home), as well as some other cute board game merchandise and snacks. The game variety is amazing. While I'm typically there for trivia, there's SO many fun game options. They also run activities pretty much every night--Thursday Trivia, Sunday Blood on the Clocktower, Sunday Dread, Friday Beginner DND, etc. There's always something to do! I love coming here and I am ecstatic to have a board game cafe so close to home for me. I certainly recommend that if you're considering coming by here, you should swing by and try it!
