There were two cashiers who were very efficient. Wait for getting food was significantly long. Waited almost 40 minutes for crepe, bagel, and a quesadilla. People who ordered after me got their orders before me. We approached and asked about out order and was informed that our name was called a long time ago at the pick up station. We watched multiple orders be called at the opening into the kitchen for people who did the same as us. The food came out cold and the kitchen staff were careless about the mistake they made. We loved the strawberry Nutella crêpe and south western burrito! If you like spicy food then the south western burrito is for you! The home fries that came with the burrito had good flavor but were a little cold when the food came out. The crêpes had the perfect ratio of fruits and Nutella. Ice coffee was so good we bought another to go and they had a good selection of hot teas to choose from. The service was friends and professional as they took our order at the counter and brought our food out quickly. They even brought out our drinks without us needing to go to the counter to pick them up. The atmosphere was nicely designed and organized as they have a water station set up and coffee station to add what you like in your drink. ordered a gluten free crepe, and this is the third or fourth time. Besides the cost being high for what you get, they are different every time and just OK. today took me over the edge when I asked for one of the gluten free cran raisin cookies from the jar at the checkout. Suprised there by the cost ($3.00 ea) and they were literally only two inches wide. it got worse when I got to my office and tried the "cookie", it was rock hard and almost not edible. I have given them a few chances but won't be back. Many other places (a door or two away) that have better food, more reasonable prices, and friendlier staff (didn't even mention that I always feel like I'm bothering them when there). Went here for the first time. Nice location with cute indoor shops close by. The cafe is very large and open and has a nice environment and decor. The menu had a lot of options like bagels, crepes, sandwiches and some freshly baked sweets. Lots of drink options as well. I got a nutella strawberry crepe which was very good and filling. I also got a bagel on the side as well as the nutella smoothie was was also very good and fresh. The service was quick and friendly as well as accommodating. My friend and I recently went to Perk on Main. This is located on Main Street in Middletown, inside of Main Street Market. I've been here once before for coffee a few years ago. Perk on Main is so inviting and colorful. it's very spacious, with large windows, and colorful walls. There's a large tree inside and a cool piece of stained glass artwork. When you first walk in, you'll notice the coffee flavors and coffee equipment, I didn't realize you have to walk all the way around to the food menu to see the full coffee options. There's a lot to choose from. Lots of crepes, breakfast options, sandwiches, etc. We got the Berry Good Crepe to share, and a coffee and tea for each of us. I didn't notice the full coffee menu when I ordered, so my coffee was just the plain coffee with a flavor shot. We weren't super hungry, so this crepe to share was enough for us. Berry Good is a great pick, it's filled with Nutella, raspberries and blueberries. Yum! This a well packed crepe but not oversized. It's wrapped into a triangle and garnished with powdered sugar and said ingredients. We really enjoyed! It's creamy and melty and such a great blend of berry and chocolate. Perk is a fun spot to hang out with friends and catch up over tasty breakfast food. I can't help but think Perk on Main has some kind of reference to Central Perk from Friends. Awesome little nook in Middletown. I went to this joint pre-pandemic so I can't comment on their COVID-19 precautions. However, all I can say is that I had a wonderful experience. The cashier was super friendly, he recommended a great omelette for me to try that day! The cafe has complimentary water with reusable REAL cups (not plastic, single-use cups; YAY to a restaurant supporting waste-free). You order your meal and then a staff person actually goes to your table to drop it off for you (not like a regular cafe). Overall, it was a great place. My wife and I stopped by mid morning and were surprised by the size of this restaurant. The menu is posted above the counter/kitchen where orders are taken and delivered to your table as prepared. My wife chose to go sweet by ordering the Amazing Grace crepe that included low-fat vanilla yogurt and a variety of berries plus banana. I chose to go savory and ordered the Et Tu, Brutus crepe that included spinach, scrambled egg, onion, garlic, tomatoes and feta plus a side of home fries. Came here for breakfast a few days ago and oh my god it was so good. I got cinnamon sugar crepes and they were amazing. My girlfriend got a ham egg and cheese on a bagel and a buttered croissant which were both good as well. My mom also got a breakfast burrito which she loved as well. The best coffee in Middletown! They are packed, but I always find a table during late lunch. I spend time studying in there and always go back up for more coffee. It is great to meet up with friends for conversation or to get out of the office and have a scenery change. The sweet crepes are my favorite! Love the new location of Perk on Main. The restaurant is spacious and clean with an inviting hipster feel. The sweet and savory crepes are delicious and the espresso based drinks here are delicious (the non-espresso drinks look equally delicious, I am excited to try them!). The wait time on the drinks was a little long last time I went due to the large amount of customers (we got our food before our drinks) but regardless, the drinks were delicious and well worth the wait. Perk on Main also serves alcohol now! They have a decent selection of beer and wine available and they also make mimosas with freshly squeezed orange juice. Perk on Main is a beautiful addition to Main Street in Middletown. There is meter parking in front of the building. Having visited after 6:00 pm, we did not have to pay. There are a few tables and chairs on the sidewalk, where you can enjoy your coffee and people watching. The gleaming hardwood floors and tin ceiling lend a retro feel to an otherwise modern decor. This is the smallest of the now 3 locations, but there is plenty of seating. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We only purchased drinks on this visit, but they were made quickly and correct. This is a cute, cozy breakfast stop that allows you to either sit down and enjoy your meal or order to-go. With Iron and Wine music playing in the background, you can enjoy your hot cup of joe on the elevated platform with its couple of couches or at one of the several tables around the spacious restaurant. We came around 10:30am on a Friday and there was a lot of seating available. The entrance is through the main shopping mall and not the sidewalk. We ordered two breakfast sandwiches. One was an egg and cheese on the standard hard roll (the roll was actually pleasantly soft, which was great because my toddler ate this item). The other was sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel. A croissant or bagel is 60 cents extra. Both of the eggs were fluffy (only a couple gray spots, which I attributed to slight over-baking), and the bagel was soft but nothing spectacular. Due to the extra fee, I'd skip the bagel, plus it's smaller than the hard roll. The overall size and taste of these breakfast items was excellent for the price! Coffee is self-serve on an island counter near the registers. It was ok, just slightly better and less burnt-tasting than average diner coffee. Refills are $1. It's not the kind of coffee that satisfies a coffee connoisseur. Lastly, we got a smoothie. My toddler enjoyed watching the employee make it. Some of the ingredients were fruit, yogurt, and honey. You can't really go wrong with crepes. Almost ordered The Classic which is banana nutella until my eyes caught The Elvis and saw they put banana, nutella, and peanut butter in it. What could be better than that? Looks so beautiful, tastes great, smells wonderful. Plus it's very filling and addicting. The staffs are friendly, service is fast here. Atmosphere is casual and relaxing. Though, I came here several times, on 2 occasions the staff were bad-mouthing their colleagues loudly and I could hear every single thing from where I was sitting. But I just tried to ignore the loud conversation and went back to enjoying their Chai Tea while watching the world go by. Music is a mix, yesterday it was the piano music which I really enjoyed and today it was country music which is unfortunately my least favorite kind of music and don't really think it goes well with the setup of the place, imho. Food is hit or miss. Some days the crepes are beautifully plated and stuffed full, other days they look like someone crumpled it with their fist before dropping it on your plate and losing half the the filling in the process. Baked goods are either delicious and fresh or, more often than not, stale and dry. (Makes me wonder how long they sit on the shelf for) The worst part is the service. I've been on the hunt for a good...no, a great gluten free crepe for quite a while. After having more than a couple of mediocre ones, I started losing faith in the local crepe community. Once I figured out that Perk on Main exists and I saw crepes on the menu, I was on a mission to try it ASAP. I convinced my husband to meet me for an early dinner on a weeknight. Although it's a small place, it's charming and has plenty of tables. I didn't realize until after I ordered that breakfast is served all day, so I ordered a gluten free Nathan Hale crepe with shrimp. In my opinion, the amount of filling was perfect and the crepe itself was cooked just right. Due to my almost unnatural affinity for tomato soup, I had to try the tomato Parmesan soup. It was a little bit salty, but it was so delicious that I scarfed it down all the same and I will do so every time I visit. My husband ordered the cashew curry chicken wrap and he seemed very happy with it. Much to my delight, he also got a chocolate almond smoothie that I was able to steal a few sips from. I would definitely dine in again when I need a quick dinner or to meet a friend for lunch. I also look forward to a day when I'm too lazy to make my lunch and have an excuse to get takeout.
