I've enjoyed Perkins restaurants for many years, but the past year or so... there's been a huge slip downward. this morning, I had an hour to spare before an appointment, so I walked into Perkins for breakfast. First thing that hit me was seeing a large section of the dining area closed off, with chairs stacked on the table tops. A trip to the washroom revealed a grungy bathroom... notably the urinals. Used to be the staff would be wearing spiffy Perkins uniforms... gone. My order arrived fast and pleasantly served by a courteous young man. No complaints about the food. We ordered 2 meals from perkins, an omlette and a breakfast plate with eggs and hash browns and pancakes.the eggs on my dish were damn near raw, very little egg white at all, the potatoes undercooked, the sausage was raw, and the omelette was burned and tossed into the carton willy nilly and was literally all over the place and not edible. When I tried to call it took 30 minutes to get a human and by then they hang up on me as soon as I began to explain. Perkins has gone to h311 and it's worse now then it's ever been. I will tell everyone avoid eating here least you will get sick from the stuffs quality. What's worse? Ok....reminds me of Friendlys back east. More seating than staff. I think the average age of the people eating there is 75. Is that because it's close to the Goodwill????? The hostess/manager at the 27th St. store in Billings Montana is so incredibly rude. I overheard another guest ask for a spoon. She did not walk back to the kitchen, retrieve a spoon, wash it if it was necessary, and give him a spoon as is what I feel she should have done . I did not have a spoon in the napkin of wrapped utensils I had or I would have walked over and given mine. Wow! A SPOON..... if you ever eat at the restaurant on 27th St. and are seated by the hostess/manager with long dark hair, do not ask for anything because the only thing you will receive is a lecture. I had a delightful breakfast here I stopped in for nostalgia's sake, as I had eaten here a number of times as a kid back in 1990. My server was awesome, and we had a great time chatting. My wife and I went to the Perkins off Grand 9/18/25 about 8:15 PM to have a light supper. We both ordered a bowl of Baked Potato Soup and a slice of whole wheat toast, coffee, and water. When the waiter brought the bowls of soup, we asked why it was only half full. His reply was, there apportioned. The bowl was less than half full! To both of us it appeared to be about a cup of Soup!! After one spoon full we both said it tasted awful and there wasn't much for potatoes or any other vegetables! The only good part of the meal was the toast. When the bill came, the "so called bowl of soup" was $5.99 each and the coffee, which was at least hot, and good, was $4.99 each! CERTAINLY NOT Worth the $26.00$ we paid for what was billed as a "bowl of soup!" The California Eggs Benedict was awesome. Perfectly poached eggs,fresh avocado and crispy bacon plus plenty of tangy hollandaise sauce. Perkins is like an upscale Denny's, not much more of an upscale but a little bit more. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Meals are not bad. If you are hungry and looking for something to hold you over. This is a good place to eat. The place wasn't very crowded for the lunchtime rush. I will say this, their pot roast melt was very good and had great flavor and the meat was tender. You also have to get some dessert from their in-store bakery. Very fresh and good as well. CONSTANT drama from workers who bring home life into work and talk crap about their employees and higher ups. It a bunch of fake smiles and fake personalities who serve you. Normally do not post negative reviews but this particular instance feels a bit lazy if nothing else. On May 7th Ordered from Perkins on uber eat app, I had seen that Perkins accepted and started to prepare the order according to the display on the app so went about doing other business When came back later to check on status approximately 15 minutes after the order was accepted Perkins themselves. They had decided to cancel with no rhyme or reason after other restaurants in the area had also closed. so now I am struggling to find alternative for a late meal for family that isn't fast food. The reason I am questioning if this was laziness versus availability is normally I am somehow contacted if a dish is no longer available or if a substitution can be made. no such attempts to contact my family or I were made will follow up with general manager in the morning. read more

My boyfriend and I went here the other day for the first time and were super happy with everything. The service was great, our waitress very attentive and kind, as were the rest of the staff. They are very personable and I love the quiet calm of the atmosphere. It's mostly breakfast food, but we both got cheeseburgers and I got a bowl of tomato soup on the side (which was, I kid you not, some of the best tomato soup I have ever had). The burgers were so juicy and great, we were very pleasantly surprised. We'll definitely come in again sometime to try more things! Perkins is a chain restaurant, I believe. Not sure if it's a regional thing or a national brand, but I found myself here for dinner in Billings, MT. It was a last minute decision on recent Friday night in September 2017 for dinner options and at around 2130 driving around downtown Billings for anything that piqued my interest. I ended up having dinner here at this Perkins restaurant and it ended up as being the better, healthier choice, versus late night fast food dining or convenience store junk. With that said, I have had Perkins restaurant in other cities on previous travels, so I was familiar with them. They feel like they are a homespun restaurant that cares for you like family. I can compare Perkins to IHOP or Denny's, but Perkins seems to be a step up from them. I do like the fact that the restaurant itself is fairly large and they open up to midnight each night, which is awesome for people like me who like to dine after 9pm. Perkins is very clean and the service is friendly and attentive. Service here with a smile is genuine, so that was nice when they greet me that night. Felt welcomed really, especially when my stomach was rumbling. I probably spent about 45 minutes here from start to finish. There are plenty of options to choose from. I do love a restaurant where they seemingly can serve breakfast all day, any day, so that's a definite plus for me. Not sure if the Billings public transportation system comes through here, but I had a rental car during my visit, so I drove there. For the most part though, the experience was a typical one and glad they were open that late for folks like me. Burgers and fries seemed appropriate here, but I noticed that they were pretty big on breakfast items as well. Like IHOP, but a bit better, I thought. I ended up getting a 3 egg omelette called "the everything", which came with hash browns and pancakes . It was definitely a treat for me, since I rarely do omelette for breakfast. The omelette itself featured a whole host of stuff in there, which made it pretty delicious and satisfying. The hash browns were good too. I finished off the meal with the 3 pancakes that came with the meal. The prices here start off averaging $10 per entree, which seemed consistent with other restaurants similar to Perkins. I particularly liked the omelette more, since it was the star of the entree. Hash browns were good and the pancakes were typically okay. I'm glad that they were not dry. For the most part though, having a restaurant like Perkins in the community does help with the variety among meal options you may have on any given day. Surgery over & successful, I've been released in my Sisters care for a night at Riversage Billings Inn. It's been another 24 hours since either of us have had anything to eat &, I don't know about Sis, but that Jolly Roger sour apple candy I ate has me on the hunt for something more substantial. Settled in to our "Oh so comfortable room," we view the menu, looking for comfort food that will satisfy mind, body & soul. We both wanted breakfast, so we settle on one 'Triple Egg Dare Ya' to split between us & 2 slices of Banana Cream Pie. Umm... did I mention we were STARVING? Sis called in the order & drove over to pick it up. I wasn't allowed to drive, which was probably a good thing, as I kept falling asleep at the drop of a hat. A wee bit later, I was awakened by the smell of delicious food, & there was Sis with our dinner. Well, breakfast, lunch & dinner! The pies were popped into the fridge. The eggs, bacon, sausage, Hash browns & pancakes were divided between us & not a word was heard until we both came up for air. LOL After another wee nap, every last bite of pie was savored until the container was completely empty. Yep, I had found a wee piece of heaven named Banana Cream Pie... Tried to go to an Italian place but it apparently was in the process of being gutted and had the sign completely off the building by the time we got close, so we just wandered in here. Perkins historically has been pretty hit and miss for me, but they have clearly gone through a kind of rebranding and a menu overhaul, so we decided to give it a shot. We stuck mostly with breakfast foods, trying to play it safe. I had some huge thing or other and my wife had a skillet, which she found beyond her. I had no such problem (being a large male and all - ok, ok, I'm a pig, whatever) and tucked in to some very solid French toast, some pretty nice hash browns, acceptable bacon and sausage, some decent pancakes and was pleased also with the Coke Freestyle machine on premises. We took a shot at some strawberry cream cheese fried thing, but that was not very good. Waiter was exemplary, but all of the staff was excellent. The one bad note was that whoever was cooking could not handle eggs correctly. I order, always at new places, over-medium for my eggs, until I'm sure I can trust the cook. I got one that was borderline over-easy and one that was not even cooked to that degree. Slimy eggs. Yay. My grandparents and I have been going to eat here since I was a child. Very rarely is there a problem or mix up and the staff are always friendly. I want to point one waitress out in particular, Carmen. She is one of the best waitresses even when the facility is bubbling busy and downright crazy. My family and I were excited to start the day with a delicious breakfast. First off this Perkins is huge, more like a collegiate dining buffet than a cozy breakfast place. However, the rest of the experience was lacking with children throwing sugar packets at each other and running uncontrollably around as if they were playing at the ball field. First time at a Perkins, was told its like a Dennys but a little bit better, and thats exactly right. When you walk in it looks like its just a bakery, then you see the entire restaurant tucked away in the back! The decor is very similar to your Dennys/Ihop/Cocos etc. I'd say its a little classier than your average Dennys but maybe thats probably because theres not a bunch of drunk college students... Ordered the Pot Pie which tasted nice, and the Banana Creme Pie that accompanied was pretty good. Neither really stood out. What I was really impressed with was the Chicken Strips! I have ate here probably 6-7 times in the last 6 days with a relative in the hospital nearby. The food has been nothing short of excellent every-time. Breakfast was fast, hot and delicious. A couple late night meals just before closing had me thinking at this time I might have to settle for whatever I get but both times the meal, ( french dip and fries and country fried steak and mashed tatters were GREAT. As ordinary restaurants for normal people go, this Perkin's is fairly decent. They seem to be recovering from their personnel problems and at least some of their new sandwiches, e.g. a Reuben with extra 1000 Island on the side, are very well done and capable of being split with your wife or friend, so that you can have a cup of their usually good Chicken Noodle soup or Broccoli and Cheese. Always plenty of crackers and I like the coffee pot with the good tasting coffee on the table. My guess is we need a better rating system. No Perkin's would ever even aspire to real 3 or 4 or 5 star ratings. This is a 2 star restaurant that does this job well. I would give it a 0 if I could. Absolutely horrible place! First of all, my fork was sticky for some reason, they obviously don't wash their dishes very well. Second of all, their french fries were the worst french fries I have ever tasted. Third of all, their hash browns only tasted like butter. Fourth of all, their tomatoes were greenish grayish and were disgusting! Fifth of all, my soda pop was filled completely with ice, there was hardly any drink in it there was so much. Sixth of all, there was a piece of corn on my plate, even though no one at my table ordered any corn. Seventh of all, all of the food was completely uneatable.
