I have ordered from this place various times and they get my order wrong every single time. I just DoorDashed some food and I specifically put cancel my entire order if you don't have pies. They delivered without the pie. Not only that but their prices are way too high for not such great quality food. I will never be ordering food from here again. read more

And our server Lisa was top notch - fast and friendly, with a graceful balance of offering refills and checking up on how we liked everything with giving us space and making conversation. My breakfast was quite enjoyable with a nice wide selection of choices to decide-from. We were seated immediately. Took quite a while before a Table Server got to us. Friendly and cheerful so that helped. When we were ready to order, we had to again-wait a tad till we found our Table Server. The food came rather quickly and it tasted very very good. We all had a decent tasty breakfast at a good price in pleasant surroundings. Next time up in this area, we definitely would return to this Perkins. We have been going to this Perkins for years. I can not believed how the so called supervisor lied to me. While waiting in line to be seated, she took my name and told me for a table of ten it would be a half hour. The people were just finishing up so it would probably take even less than 30 minutes. We patiently waited for 30 minutes and when the party got up I went over to the girl. She lied to my face saying there was another party before me and I'd have to wait another 40 minutes. The place seemed busy on a Thursday evening, but I was seated quickly. The green/white ambiance hit a sterile tone. The restaurant also had its share of children, some well behaved -- others far from it! My waitress was pleasant and prompt. I ordered the Island Tilapia, one of their "healthier" dishes in a sea of saturated fat and sodium-laden options -- all of which looked mighty tasty. That and an unsweetened iced tea accompanied my meal. The fish, a generous portion, tasted fresh and light. The vegetables were not over-salted, though I would've preferred the dish without rice. no thanks! why has breakfast become the hardest thing to make halfway decent in this neighborhood? restaurant seemed clean enough, and employees were present thats a bare minimum for operation. food? horrible. took 35 minutes for 2 breakfast items .. its eggs. we were almost ready to go about our day hungry because we were running out of time. food came FINALLY, the benedicts eggs were overdone, the hashbrowns completely underdone basicallynot cooked at all, and the cheese wasnt melted. literally paid and left to go eat somewhere else. after waiting all that time the second plate was cold .. what a waste of time and money. coffee was good. thanks. read more

So this morning (2/3) Idecided to take my daughter out to eat at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Newburgh on 300. We was greeted at the door by the greeter who was wearing a mask . After ordering and waiting for our food I noticed an employee walking around the restaurant loudly coughing ! I mean hacking ! Myself along with another customer began to become upset . I tried to leave it alone and thought "okay maybe she will stop " but the whole time My daughter and myself tried to eat our food she still coughed . Even went to the back to speak with her co workers and still was coughing without covering her mouth (I watched her the whole time ) So I stopped another waitress I seen passing and called her over to the table . I started the conversation of by saying " Please don't take this the wrong way and please don't think I'm attacking you , " I asked if they were obligated to wear a mask , she smiled and said "no we're not " I said "hmmm okay I'm just asking because I'm trying to eat and it's unsettling to watch your co worker walk around the restaurant coughing while people are trying to eat " this waitress gave a very sarcastic and snarky response and said "yeah I wish the customers had to wear a mask too " I replayed by saying you guys work around food , "you should be wearing masks , we are eating food so why would we need a mask ?" Then she goes well the DR. Cleared her to come back to work it was just a cough (this waitress totally missed the point ) which is scary to me because you mean to tell me you're okay with your co worker coughing up her lungs out in the open without covering her mouth ?? But oh because her DR. Cleared her it's acceptable ??! ABSOLUTELY NOT. the waitress was dismissive of my feelings toward this situation so the conversation ended , I thanked her for her time . I was turned off and wanted to leave IMMEDIATELY I walked up to the counter and paid for my food that we barely touched and the same couching waitress was behind the checkout counter coughing again . It prompted me to address her personally . I said "excuse me don't take this the wrong way but can you please cover your mouth " she said "excuse me ? . I repeated what I said and she smiled and said "I already was cleared by my DR. It's really just a cough " " I said ma'am this is a food establishment and as a customer it made me feel very uncomfortable and sick to know that you've been all through the restaurant coughing where our food is prepared and we have to put it into our bodies " she kept saying that she's cleared (again missing the point of infection control ) She began to walk in another direction still telling me she's cleared . I said "ma'am I'm glad you're cleared but it doesn't look right " she said okay Thank you . I will never return to perkins again I wish I could have given no stars . Tasty food, but took over an hour for them to bring it to us. It's simple breakfast food and doesn't take long to make. The restaurant wasn't even packed. Look, my time isn't free. The waitress never apologized for the long wait, but only lied about how the food will be there in "1 minute" like 20 minutes before it came. went here Sunday night 3/26/17. i usually enjoy this place and i enjoy its menu and that is all under 15$. so when we went here its was pretty late, since my party was just finished with a friend's wake. i ordered the strawberry cream cheese crispiers which is basically cream cheese sweeten with strawberries wrapped in a tortilla and fried, it was like a sweet egg roll. it was very good,it was creamy and buttery. the strawberries were fresh and not mussy. for a entree i had country steak melt sandwich with fries. there breakfast items looked better then their dinner at the time. the waitress got my order wrong on it and i got something different, but she quickly apologized and give me my correct order hot and fresh. i love how the sandwich was placed between two giant size Texas toast that was perfectly buttered all over. the chicken fried steak was cripsy and the meat inside was juicy and tender, the eggs and cheese were fresh and not old or stale. the fries on the side was hot and fresh out of the fryer,lightly salted. overall the service was okay for being late at night. our waitress was very nice and friendly. she made sure to follow up on food often. if my stomach was larger, i would so had a mammoth muffin, i love their muffins here, so freaking big. i will be back to try more of the breakfast menu more. read more

Spun the RV right into a spot outside and laid on the horn. Mad people came outside to see what the frick was goin on. I got out the megaphone and said "come on folks everything's okay am I right!?" They all laughed it off and went inside. Some custovers were nice enough to help the wife carry me down the RV steps in my wheel chair from my hip replacements. While I was free floating in mid air in my wheel chair I lit up a real quick clove and took some selfies. Wife and the boys stayed inside and took naps while I went inside alone and had a delicius lunh. The hostess held the door for me and said she liked my SpongeBob sleep pants and yellow turtleneck combo. Got a big round booth in the back of the store and had about 18 staff members consisting of servers, fry cooks, bus boy, dishwasher, and management hoist me up into the booth. Told the manager to fetch me one egg over hard please and a side of chocolape milk. Didn't fill me up so I did have two omlet. Left couple travelers checks as a tip on the table and took a quick squirt. Got right back on the road in the RV for my famly vacation. Sat in the left lane on the interstate for a good hour straightt drivin 45 mph thinkin bout how Perkin restaurant and bakery is a great place to bring the family and leave em in the car. read more

After we just did a bike trail all day at minnewaska state park we were headed home and right before the highway we saw Perkins. We stopped by and our waiter was cool, and real nice took care of us. He knew we were tired as we looked exhausted and just was quick and caring. He was also chatting with us and came back every 5-10 min to see if we needed anything else. The food was good, and the service was fast and quick, It seemed as all the waiters there were nice and friendly and they all provided great service. Good place to eat on the road.!! read more

My wife and I went to Perkins with a coupon to have dinner this evening. We ordered our entrées along with our beverages. The food we ordered was pretty tasty. However the service was less than stellar. After our food was served to us, our waitress did not come back to refill our drinks or our water. We waited for 15 to 20 minutes from the time we finished eating until we received our check. When we went to pay our bill we were asked how everything was. We told our cashier that our food was good however the service was not good. She said that that was OK. My wife and I said that it was not OK. A manager was told of our displeasure with the service. We were invited to come again another time however there is no incentive to do so. This was the worst service that we have experienced in quite a while. There was no reason for us to revisit this restaurant due to the poor service experience that we had. I feel bad about this poor review however it didn't seem to matter to the cashier or the manager. I did read some of the other reviews of this restaurant and most of them were good. I would have liked to have had one of those experiences as well. read more

My wife and I went today, a Saturday morning around 10:45. The place was packed, but we were able to get right in. Perkins offers a very pleasant family atmosphere. The food is quite good, large portions and a good value. Today, I had the Country Cookin' Benadict. It was very good, and I was extremely full afterwards. I love that they give you a carafe for coffee, so the waiter doesn't have to keep coming around asking if you need a refill. Great bakery here! I got some salmon, green beans with bacon, and herb rice. I enjoyed it so much that I ate every bite. Not only was the food good but I only paid thirteen dollars for my meal. Better value than the local diners. The help is friendly and attentive. The food is cooked as asked, make sure to ask, though. Also, watch out for the meatloaf ends. They can seem skimpy if overcooked. The vegetables are bright and fresh. If you're looking for an alternative to fries with your meal for the sake of a healthy balance, make sure to ask how the vegetables are served. I ended up with butter on the side but my healthy alternative soaked in a butter garlic dressing. Very tasty, though. Take advantage of the many discounts. I don't go to Perkins very often, if I do it is with my Grandmother. Her and my Grandfather are VIP members because they go there so often. The waitresses start making their usual order as soon as they pull up. For a diner, Perkins is very good. I ordered the Sampler which consisted of Mozzarella Sticks, Quesadillas, Onion Rings, and Chicken Tenders. All was very good. The Quesadillas were quite dry but still fine to eat with some sour cream on them. The waitress was very nice, made sure our drinks were full and that we were enjoying our meal. Perkins is well know for their good service, however not always true but in this case it was. Don't go to Perkins often, but always enjoy when I do. read more

My opinion is that, while the service is very good and the food is standard restaurant food, it seems to me that charging $2.39 for toast is exploitive of the customer. Charging $2.39 for coffee is equally uncalled for. Since, the only choice to not be exploited is to not patronize this restaurant it is what I shall do. Today August 6th, 2016, my grandparents went here to have breakfast as they always do. Later on in the morning my grandfather began to have tremors. We immediately went home and put him to rest. We took his blood pressure and realized it was extremely low. He had a 102.7 fever and was vomiting all over. We then called his doctor and the doctor said rush him to the hospital. He immediately took him to the hospital. Hours later after a numerous amount of test, the doctors came to the conclusion that my grandfather had food poisoning.
