Tried out the new dinner menu at Perky Beans and it did not disappoint! We had the Prime Rib Dip and the Steak Salad--both were absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming as always, and the other dinner options look so good that we already can't wait to come back and try more. Highly recommend! read more

Every month, my friends meet and enjoy breakfast somewhere and enjoy great fellowship, while exchanging "Praise Reports and Prayer Requests." It's been a while since I've been here and reviewed them. I have to admit, the last time my experience was about a 3-1/2 star. Today (9/22/23) for some reason it was different. Friday at 9:30am, reasonably busy. Seated in about 5-7 mins. Menus offered and drink orders taken by our amazing server "Bree". When the food arrived we were all struck by its appearance. It look delicious just sitting on the plate. I ordered the "Southwest Skillet", my wife "Blueberry Waffles", friends ordered "Lighten Up Skillet", "Fully Loaded Advocate Toast" and a Benedict. We all were so excited that we prayed and started eating right away. Then I remember the review. My apologies if some of the meals are half eaten or have bites taken out. Over all we were very pleased with our meals. I know because no one offered to share (Usually a clear sign of total enjoyment). I had an opportunity to share with our server Bree. She expressed prayer for her baby boy on the way, due in Jan 24. Wow! What an exciting time in her life. Worth the wait. (Pro tip: join the waitlist form your phone before arriving) I love supporting local and love supporting it even more when it's delicious! We typically dine here for brunch and we've always enjoyed our meals. The weight can be long and sometimes the wait for the food is a little longer than normal. If you plan ahead, it's worth it. We have visited once for happy hour, and the menu it's very small and the drinks are limited. It's nice as a little neighborhood pop in, but I'm not sure it's choice for happy hour. read more

First time visiting and truly enjoyed this place. The food was delicious and prices were reasonable in terms of portion sizes. Coffee was delicious. I had the Golden State Benedict and it was delicious. Next time, I will need to try the Benedict sampler. It's a small place which gives it a cozy feel. I got an OJ mimosa with the veggie lover omelette. My partner got the western omelette. We both had the Yukon potatoes, which are absolutely delicious! The eggs were fluffy, the toast with the butter and jam were tasty as well. I'm glad the jam was on the sweeter side to complement the savory dish. Food has been fresh and made to order as well as plentiful. I like the Farmer's and Western Omlets and have also had Waffles and panca,kes. Superior coffee and tasty OJ. Everything here is so delicious. Love the coffee drinks at the coffee shop and breakfast is amazing. The twisty bacon is definitely not diet friendly but will make your tastebuds dance :)) Can get a bit crowded on busy days since the seating is limited but food is worth the wait. read more

This is a great little place right off the 183, I've had the mocha twice and a regular coffee a few more times. The sausage and egg croissant that I had was perfect (I had planned on leaving right after getting my food and coffee) it smelled so good I stayed and ate it. The folks are nice and fast. Favorite Coffee in THE WORLD Ok, ok, maybe we haven't been to that many coffee shops but Perky Beans is just TOP notch. We've been to all the local joints and the only thing that comes close is Black Sugar in Cedar Park. (We refuse to support Starbucks.) The only thing that made Perky Beans better was the cafe. Such a tasty cafe, it's worth the drive if you're doubting whether or not to make it up North. The cafe has my partners favorite Chicken Fried Steak at breakfast/brunch time. But don't be late! They will run out. The coffee is to die for and you can order it while you wait for your table to open up at the cafe. Fair warning it is fairly small and VERY popular. I've never had a bad experience here, service is always exceptional. The cafe and coffee shop are rustic themed and too cute to handle. 10 stars out of 5 read more

I love how you can visit the coffee shop without going to the cafe. The drinks are very very sweet and sugary. More like a dessert than a morning coffee. There was plenty of space to sit and eat and work. It's connected to a full service cafe if you want more than a quick bite and a coffee. We tried the oatmeal cookie latte and a few other drinks. Stopped by this cute little place on our way outta Texas. Loved the waitstaff. They were cranking out drive through orders and were taking care of folks inside also. Kudos. Super cute place. Calm, mellow atmosphere focused on our collective love of coffee. Roomy with several seating options if you've got a group or are solo. Lots and lots of drink options, mostly focused on coffee. My one star subtraction was the heavy handed sweetness on both of our lattes. WAY too sweet. Would've loved seeing healthier sweetener options like monkfruit or pure stevia. If these were here, I missed them. However, with our lattes, no sweetener needed. In fact, I added a full bottle of water in an attempt to mellow my green tea matcha latte out. It was much better but wow, an entire water bottle? That aside, we also enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and Turkey melt. Both were seasoned well and generous with their respective proteins. The ambiance of the place was really good, it was giving vintagey vibes which was super cool. The staff were really chill and very friendly. I was there with my friends to work on something but it was a lil noisy. We got a few drinks which were all pretty good overall. I got the tiramisu one which was REALLYY good. Good coffee! Their internet is extremely slow though and metal chairs uncomfortable. I came here to study but had to leave because I could not even get a webpage to load. I ran a speed test while there and was getting only 35mbps. Comfort and internet speed are important for a coffee shop and not areas you should cut corners on. When you do not create a comfortable environment, people will not return. The attached cafe on the other hand is great! Good food and friendly service. read more

If you are coming here for sit down breakfast, make sure you go to the middle, 2nd door. The first time we came here for breakfast, we thought it was just the coffee area. There is a hallway in the back that connects the 2 as well. The inside was super clean and cutely decorated. The staff was super friendly, with warm smiles which is nice nowadays. The menu is good with several options. Both breakfast and lunch. Good sized portions and everything was cooked perfectly. The waffle was perfectly crispy which was so good. It's hard to get a waffle cooked perfect. Even the pancake was cooked well. Everything comes with butter and fresh jelly. Loved the glass jars drinks are served in. Service was also pretty fast. Didn't wait long on food. We stopped to get a drink in the coffee area after. Again, staff was super friendly and helpful. I tried the Red Bull drink, very good! We arrived around 8:30 and were seated quickly due to lack of other patrons. We sat for over 5 minutes before the waitress came to ask for our drinks. We ordered our drinks and breakfast at the same time. (There were only 4 other tables occupied at that time). I don't know what their idea of an omelet is but they need to visit 1431 cafe to eat an omelet. My wife and I had hashbrowns that were undercooked and cold. The waitress took forever to come and bring us our check and didn't even ask how was everything. I'm pretty sure that in the service industry, a waitress should do more than take an order, deliver food, and bring check is all you do! Been a few times and it's always fantastic. Great food, great service, just wish the cafe was bigger. Wait it usually 30 - 45 min but it's worth it. Don't drink coffee but the tea is always crazy hot and the big mugs keep it that way. Food is fresh & hot right from kitchen. Food was good . Service stunk. All former waitperson and kitchen had been fired. Really crazy - former waitperson persons awesome . Kitchen staff ( former) were great . Now wait staff don't know how to take care of customers ( service-) even hostess. Kitchen staff all you hear is so much noise good food but really slow and restaurant not busy. Now...we were actually sitting in the coffee shop and not in the restaurant . This makes no sense from a customer service perspective. My two favorite things on the menu were the pastrami sandwich and the pastrami hash. I would literally drive from Austin Texas all the way up there to enjoy one or both of those things. One small offputting detail for me (and this is just me - I don't negatively reflect it on the business) is that based on how I've observed their fb, Yelp, etc is that until I arrived for my first visit today, I thought it was a coffee shop that also serves food. So I didn't consider coming for breakfast. In fact, although it is (apparently) a single business owner, there is a "diner" next to a coffee shop with 2 srparate entrances, and a wall between them. Today's review is for the "diner." Good food and service. I had traditional eggs benedict with homefries. Everything was fresh and hot. The only tiny detail is that the Hollandaise was a little bland. Maybe just a few drops of lemon juice (?? - not sure).It was quite good otherwise. First time shame on you, second time shame on me. This is the 2nd time I have signed up for Perky Beans wait list and been kicked off. Second time this morning, signed up as I was leaving my house which is less than 10 mins away. Was quoted 15 min wait. Drove there walked in and had been removed. Told there were 10 parties in front of me. That was the quote when I signed up. So 10 parties got seated and 10 parties came? Got messages saying I was being seated, yet you gave a 15+ min quote. This review is on my experience for the Cafe side where they serve breakfast and lunch. Immediately the host is friendly and attentive. The ambiance is cozy and a sense of country feel. We ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and farmers breakfast. It was phenomenal! We didn't realize it was literally Cinnamon Roll!!! And were beyond joyed with it. The sweetness and toasted almonds was not overwhelming just the right amount of everything. The eggs were fluffy, bacon crisped to perfection and hash browns were the right balance of crisp/fluff. I suggest if you are in the Leander area looking for a home style breakfast with tailored items Perky Cafe is a spot to check out. Yeah... Looked on Google, hours start at 5:30am. Perfect. Get commuters started with a good breakfast. Genius! It's Friday, 3/31/23 and The Wife and I are up. It's 6ish. Plenty of time for a good prep, hot grills, brewed coffee. Perfect start for our day off. We jump in the car, head on over to the Cafe, eager. We arrive about 6:20am-ish. Not much traffic yet, made good time. Perfect start. Right? Right? Nope. There are two different outlets! The Cafe side doesn't open until, well, doesn't matter. We're there and only the coffee shop has lights on. I check Google again and, yup, opens at 5:30am. Fucking hell. Turns out they have two different businesses listed under one header. And you know they'll come back saying, well, if you had looked farther down you'd have seen the breakfast hours. Like it's my fault for not knowing they had two different stores. Perky, either have two businesses with two entries on the search servers or have the same hours for them both. Please? I'm sure the owner is having a good laugh at this posting. High fiving. If they keep separate hours for PB Cafe then they need a separate Yelp listing. Update: The owner says, "we know this is wrong." They want you to leave yelp to visit their website to get the real hours. Sheesh, just put your actual hours in the yelp listing. Or, if you have 2 different businesses with different set of hours, then make 2 listings. read more
