We are fairly new to the area and looking for good yet affordable places to eat. We stumbled upon this gem about 6 months ago and now love it. Staff is super friendly. The restaurant itself is small but that makes it more comfortable. You can have a nice quiet dinner without the normal noise and buzz of other customers. The food is good. obviously, some things are better than others. but there is such a wide variety that you are sure to find something that you really like. And best of all, its affordable. I have read some negative reviews, but if you look at the dates, they were from years ago. It's a nice little place and honestly, I hope it stays that way. Nice local place that you'd probably drive past if you didn't know it there. Conveniently located near route 61 between Leesport and Hamburg. When I lived closer I used to drive from Wyomissing to this little gem because I really enjoyed the breakfast, ambience and service that I received. The food is always made to order. There's nothing ready or sitting around. The coffees always piping hot and there's always somebody walking around offering refills. They have a great system and the owner is a genuinely nice guy. Perry is an OK place for breakfast. The place is old it needs some sprucing up, and a good cleaning. The caddy on the table that holds all the condiments is in need of a good cleaning. We have eaten dinner here a few years ago, and breakfast several times. The last visit was no so impressive. I had two eggs, home fries and ham. My ham and potatoes were just barley warm. The eggs were fine. My husband had the eggs, home fries and corned beef. He said it was OK. The service was good and the breakfast came out pretty fast after ordering it. I love this place. I have been going there for years. I feel like its a second family when I chat with the waitresses and owner. The staff definitely make you feel at home. I have been trying to get the word out about how great the restaurant has been. The food is so well priced. I had the worst meal here that I have had in a long time when eating out. I ordered ham, eggs and hash browns. When it came ham and hash browns were extremely greasy and had an overwhelming smell of Vonage that they were inedible. The dishes were so badly stained that they they looked like they had grease baked onto them. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal. read more

Small place right off of Rt. 61 south of Cabella's. We were the only 2 that were not locals but received the same warm, friendly service. I went with a combo, 2 pancakes OR 2 French toast, 2 bacon, 2 sausage links, 2 eggs all for $6.50. The food was out to the table before we finished our 1st mug of coffee-mug is a requirement at breakfast so you can hold onto it and savor it. The pancakes were piping hot, tasty. The sausage links were split lengthwise and grilled brown. The bacon was crisp and had good flavor. Our other dish was SOS with home fries that was pronounced very good. Step back into 1960. Place is very dated and has a dirty feel. Bathrooms are along the lines of a truck stop. A big however, the service is friendly and food comes out lightning fast. Food quality is very good and never disappoints. Prices are about the same you would spend at a junk fast food place. A great choice for a quick bite. My husband and I will not be visiting this place again. We went to eat dinner on Fathers day, the place was pretty empty, maybe 4 tables including us, Our waitress rushed us, slammed my plate of fries down in front of me, disappeared, then came back in the middle of the meal to ask if we wanted dessert, we were not done eating yet, how the hell do we know?? She disappeared again so my hubby paid our bill with the other waitress, and asked her for a box. against my wishes, left a tip and when we were pulling out of the lot, our waitress came running out after us and said ''Hey, did ''yous'' pay''?? we said uh, yes we did, and she just walked away, no ''I'm sorry'' or anything!! I've been a waitress for over 30 yrs, this was bad service. And the fries were so greasy I could not eat them. Hope the new diner Dee-Dees down the street puts them out of business. read more

We have eaten there several times over the past few months. Food was always good enough for diner fare, and the servings were nothing less than large! Right off rt 61, but still has that old time hidden away feeling. Probably really only a 4 star as little diners go, but no rush to get you out the door, that was worth the 5th star. My husband and I went today for lunch. Service was fast but.....my French dip sandwich was disgusting!. There was so much gristle it was unedible. So there I sat pulling apart my sandwich to get all the gristle out. My husband got a Ruebin which had 2 small slices of corned beef and a huge pile of Sauer kraut. When I told our server how much gristle was in my sandwich she did nothing! Did not offer something else, did not offer to get me a replacement, did not offer to get the manager, or even a discount. So I paid $8.00 for half a sandwich and some fries. Several misses here. Either they need a new supplier for the already cooked beef or, they need a new cook because he had to see all that gristle when he sliced it. Our "go to" breakfast of choice on Sunday mornings. The staff is fast and attentive as well as friendly. We are the part of the "regulars" and they know us pretty well. Mohammed the owner is a great guy with a damn good memory and greets all his customers when he is not in the kitchen.
