I will admit this is a hidden gem. Not much curb appeal but the menu is HUGE! So many options and just about everything I saw others order looked amazing. They are practicing COVID safety but the service is awesome. The food is made to order so you do wait a bit but not unbearable. They also offer delivery with food delivery service. Tucked into what could be Pontiac's restaurant row on Perry Street is the eponymous Perry Street Grill. It's easy to miss crowded in with it's neighbor Checkers signage and you're probably hitting the gas at this point going out of town. But give it a try. The reviews which are food and not delivery Karen centered are pretty much very positive and I agree. The menu practically wraps around the place being so extensive so it will take time to give a full review. I opted for the Cheeseburger deluxe and a Coke. The girl at the register said 15 minutes?!? despite the place being empty. Ok take out etc, I get it. The food was actually out in 5. Burger was hand formed, huge and loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles.....you get the picture. Fries were piled high, crispy which is rare for styro-clamshell containers and good. They were coated which I don't care for, but if that's their thing fine. So good not great, at least to me. The place was spotless with a nice if basic dining area. The lone TV evidently catered to the hard of hearing customers so I decided to take my food out. I'll bring the rest of the Al H's for a further review so stay tuned. Perry Street Grill. Hot stuff! Outstanding food and service. Right by Shelia's bakery which is outstanding.

Food well prepared service is order at window, friendly and helpful. Perry Grill has a very large menu online and above order counter.

I have to be honest if I could give 0 stars I would I've been watching this place go down hill slowly. It started off with undercooked hotdogs well kinda cold but we just let it slide. Today I got an omelette and I have to say it's the worst thing I ever had they completely burned the hash browns but they are soggy idk how. Then the eggs are wayyyyyy over cooked they are chewy and rubbery it's so bad and the ham wasn't even cooked a little bit I just threw away $20 in food and I won't be back anymore. I also noticed the owner only replies to the comments praising his store. That's not a good sign either I worked in the food industry my whole life and this food should never have left the kitchen. read more

Odd looking little restaurant between a Checkers and a beauty supply store on Perry Street. Inside, they have about 6 booths where you can sit and they will serve you, or you can go to the window to order carry-out. (I was a little confused by that.) I got coffee and the Perry Street skillet. I was a little disappointed that it wasn't actually served in a skillet, but once I got over that, I was very pleased. hashbrowns were the base, with your choice of meat (I had sausage), green peppers, onions & cheese. I was mostly impressed with the fact that they made the eggs EXACTLY how I like them. Unlike most of the planet, I like very hard yolks and crispy whites. I usually have to make that myself, as most chefs were trained to make runny eggs. But these were perfect for me, so I'm sure that they will be able to make eggs to any other specification. The coffee was ok, but nothing to get excited about -- except the for the fact that it was a reasonable price and the server was excellent about refilling it. I was also amused by it being served with a demitasse spoon. They don't have sweetener on the table (just sugar), but they do have it, so you have to ask for it. My only complaint -- and something which they can't really do anything about -- is that the restroom is oddly configured. It's a long room, but the toilet is on the narrow part of the wall so that you have to be careful not to hit your head as you sit down. Not that big a deal, but I thought I should mention it anyhow. Fantastic. Friendly service, nice neighborhood vibe and most of us delicious breakfast. We were well stuffed but struggled to stop eating which is a rarity. Having the owner / cook come out and ask us if everything was okay was a nice gesture. Service is a little slow from the kitchen due to what appears staffing issue, but food still makes the place worth a visit. read more

Extraordinarily fresh breakfast ingredients. It was a tremendously delicious breakfast we had here. The only downside is that I had planned this location for a group gathering and they just cannot handle groups. It is a small diner atmosphere. If I lived in the area, this would be a very regular stop of mine. read more

I've only ever had good service and good food from this place. I've been alerted by friends about the quality of the place and the food they use to cook. However, I have never tasted anything off, never seen a hair or any foreign objects in my food. Every time I go in, the place is clean... homey, but clean. We had been wanting to come to Perry Street Grill for awhile, and we finally did on a Sunday morning. We enjoyed every bit of the visit. The girls working were super nice and kind, our food was both delicious and came out SUPER quick, and it all was all for a very reasonable price. Today we ordered club sandwiches to go, with the deluxe upgrade of fries and coleslaw. The food is excellent. Generous, good quality portions. Friendly staff. Clean lobby. And fast! It was ready right away, and the fries were hot and crispy when I got home with our delicious lunches. Took one carryout menu for the car, and one for the house. We will be back! Ok I have been watching this on Yelp for a long time. Drove by the place seems like a hundred times. While it is nothing special to look at the food is AMAZING. Where to start. First trip - I took the kids one day for breakfast and had the southern style eggs benedict which was fantastic. The biscuit was fresh and the sausage gravy home made. The sausage patty was even made in house. My daughter had scrambled eggs and nearly licked the plate. She swore they were the best eggs they ever had. My son had a waffle with strawberries. While he thought it was average my daughter and I could not stop eating his left overs. Second Trip - Took my wife for dinner. I had a Philly Steak sandwich and fries she ordered a ruben. First I should say she ate more than her share of my fries. They are the crispy battered kind, yum. I am not a big fan of rubens with sauerkraut but it was spot on good. The philly steak was very good not fatty not gristly at all. I have found more places use average cuts of beef for Philly Steak, not Perry Street Grill. "They only use the best" per the cook himself. Third trip - Ordered biscuits and gravy and a side of corned beef hash. The biscuits and gravy did not disappoint but the hash, WOW!! It had to be the best hash I have ever eaten. No idea how these guys do it but their food is to legit to miss. Twice the cook has come out and personally made sure we liked our food. The wait staff is friendly. Do not go in looking for ambiance this is not the place. Go in looking for good food.....I have not had a bad meal. And can you imagine the place is open 24 hrs. Final thought, they have a special corned beef egg roll on the menu that I must try. I love little dive restaurants that are nothing special to look at but have amazing food. Prices are low, food quality is great for the price. We stopped by after a rock show around midnight. The service was polite, the cool even came out to ask us how it tasted! My Wife and I went to this place debating on whether we should destroy our arteries with McDonald's or Taco Bell. I ordered chicken and waffles with a slice of lemon cake. My Wife ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries and cheesecake. First the chicken was wingdings and they were absolutely amazing even without waffle and syrup. I could have eaten them by themselves which is kind of what I did anyway. The waffles were good but needed a little syrup to make them pop. The lemon cake was awesome. Definitely a must have after a good meal. I didn't try my wife's burger but the fries were pretty good. This place is amazing hands down. The only reason why I gave it a 4/5 is because right above me was a spider coming down from its web. I am not a fan of spiders in any way so that's really the only reason. I can tell you the chicken pita is excellent, and topped with tzatziki sauce made the right way. Definitely would recommend food wise. However, the atmosphere is a bit awkward, its hard to tell if you are supposed to sit down or order at window. It seems like majority of people who eat here get take out. We sat in a booth, and were served promptly, but only after someone popped out of the back and told us to sit. read more

Their food is the best quality in the area hands down! It's very good and full of flavor! All the food is priced fairly and they don't skimp on the portion sizes! I'm never disappointed from here. However sometime the staff is not the best or most friendly depending on who's working it seems like they go through a lot of employees. Also my husband tried buying a homeless man breakfast because he was short a few cents and the cook would not let him because he said the homeless man was not allowed to hang around there, my husband got him breakfast anyway despite the ordeal. After we angered the cook he then proceeded to block our numbers so we could no longer order from them when we had been ordering from them every day for a month straight because we had just moved into the area. After that I then spoke with a different gentleman and explained to him what happened and he then unblocked our numbers. All in all the food is worth the hassle I guess but professionalism could be stepped up a notch or two here. read more

I really, REALLY wanted to give this place a nice review. The only reason I'm giving one star is because the food was great. It was my first time going with my friend and as soon as we walked in we were ignored. We weren't sure if we were supposed to wait or just sit down.. Then the lady behind the glass looked annoyed as we explained it was our first time, and told us to sit at a booth. After I brushed the crumbs off my seat she came over with some menus. We got our drinks and when we were ready to order she basically mumbled the whole time. And I hope she realizes I saw her roll her eyes as she took the menus. Once we got the food I was pleasantly surprised, but not once did she bother to check on us. Actually, wait, she did, I think? I don't know, she zoomed by so quickly I couldn't catch what she was trying to say to us. I was very confused, I work retail so I'm polite to every one who works any sort of customer service, but I didn't understand why she was so cold and rude. Once others came in to pick up their take out she greeted them and asked how they were doing, but I did not hear that come out of her mouth with us. And then she completely disappeared! We had long finished our food when she finally came back out, and her lame excuse was she was washing dishes. I'm sorry, but if you're a waitress with a table seated, you shouldn't disappear for a ridiculous amount of time. She gave us our bill and disappeared again! We didn't want to just leave it on the table so we stood and waited at the counter trying to get someone's attention. Finally when she came back out she was polite. I think she was so nice at the end because we were finally leaving. Don't work with the public if you can't stand people. I didn't want to stay there any longer than necessary or else I would have had to get her name and talk to her manager. Bottom line: great food if you can stand the awful service and gross atmosphere. Maybe I'll just get take out next time. read more
