The server was great. The food was almost cold, like Luke warm, I don't know I just expected my food to be hot like any other breakfast place I go to would have served it. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful! Would probably do takeout instead of sitting in next time!

The Oakland Diner. Pontiac- Home of the Oakland car company as well as others- Pontiac! The sorely missed Pontiac Fiero was once built with pride here a stone's throw away.... One time a bustling city, employing tens of thousands, mass producing quality vehicles for the world. The Oakland diner has been totally remodeled as it had previously sat vacant being the old Coco's diner. They have done a fabulous job rebuilding inside and out. Nice and comfortable inside. Nice exterior and parking. The food is always good. Great place for breakfast. They have an awesome breakfast special during the week. Always fast and friendly service. I sure hope this place stays in business. They are good people and serve good food.

sausage and bacon. Very Berry French Toast

I only got to order French toast, sausage and bacon but can I say, the bacon was cooked perfectly for me. The bacon was crispy but not burnt and the sausage Pattie's were amazing, it was savory and had a slight hint of heat at the end (I can handle heat well so I'd say it might be different if you can't handle spicy things). But overall I really Enjoyed this place and would go again for sure. There were more things I wanted but since I was getting it to go it was more difficult to choose.

    Menu
    Real A.

I got a menu in the mail as a advertisement mailer and first thought that the menu was a little large being 6-7 pages long. However, I had never heard of the place, so I'm glad they sent it. Made it out there for breakfast this morning, a month after getting the menu. It was not busy and was seat yourself. It seemed like one waitress was running the entire place and was doing it well. The interior seemed new or renovated. There is no Yelp listing, but tons of Google reviews, so I'm unsure of how long they've been around. I got the biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns. Everything was standard, as expected, but still good. Nothing extraordinary, but good for a decent meal. Larger portions with no wait...as simple as that. Don't let the surroundings of Pontiac steer you away, this place is a diamond in the rough.

Blueberry French Toast Eggs with Sausage!!

I ordered the blueberry French toast with two eggs over easy, toast and sausage and was not disappointed! I had already eaten most of my eggs and toast when I realized I wanted to leave a review on how good this place is, so I only have a photo of my second breakfast order. I discovered the diner while dog sitting for my cousin and think it is the greatest thing that could have happened to me. Every time I eat here I am reminded how much I love the cooking because it tastes exactly like my moms. Now I come here when I want to feel at home and eat. Everything from my coffee to food was exceptionally delicious! The waitress was very kind and lovely to talk to (aside: she is also the only waitress in the place currently. I was blessed with an abundance of patience and even though it was not expected I know is was appreciated. These are hard times for everyone and I think a little bit of kindness can go a long way. She could have let stress get the better of her and treated everyone with disdain, but instead she offered a smile.) I regret I did not get her name, kind blonde with glasses from New York. I would also like to re-give my compliments to the chef, Tony for his wonderfully exquisite food. Thank you for the great morning and I will return excited for more! :)

Really good food and friendly people. The chicken gumbo is my favorite. I wish they were open a little later in the day. They close at 4:00.

Service…read morewas also excellent, and you can see where they're cooking, so you know it's being made fresh to order. The only thing that would make this place any better is if they had a liquor license! We came in and seated ourselves; we were greeted warmly right away by our server. The decor is cute and modern with bright colors and has a good vibe. The menu is really interesting - there are a lot of good items on it and it was hard to choose! I was really tempted by the birria ramen - I may have to come back just to try that. I like that they have traditional Mexican/Tex Mex food as well as wings, burgers, and salads. Anyone would be happy eating here. To start, the chips came out hot and freshly fried and the salsa is nice and mild with a lot of tomato flavor. My Mom ordered the Ghost smash burger and I had the spice dusted wings. Both of those come with fries or tots, and we got fries. I also got a side salad with their southwest Caesar dressing, and it was really good. Topped with fresh tortilla strips and a decent amount of dressing - it wasn't overdressed, but I might get it on the side next time. Fresh and yummy. I really enjoyed the wings - they were a decent size and not overly breaded or frozen wing dings. These are legit chicken wings and I love the spice mixture as well as the delicious cotija ranch type dressing they come with. That's really good. My Mom's burger was also delicious - nice and hot with queso sauce and a fresh soft bun. A pretty perfect large burger. I will say that they're using frozen potato products, but with such a small workspace, I can see why that's necessary. And I'm not mad at it - the prices are very reasonable, and they came out hot and crispy with seasoning on them, so they're definitely decent. We'll be back every time we're in Pontiac! They're very close to the UWM campus and sports complex, so that's a big plus. They have specials, and on Saturdays KIDS EAT FREE!

The…read morechips and salsa were good and the server was very nice and helpful, but the entrees that came out were all extremely lackluster. All 3 meals had flavorless meat that looked more freezer burned than cooked. The cotija cheese that topped everything tasted a bit turned/sour and the guacamole was possibly green a few days ago. For my experience this evening, this place is a good candidate for Gordon Ramsey's Restaurant Rescue. Also, Music: I will add this is the first time I have ever eaten Mexican food to Chariots of Fire and Seal's Crazy.

We had a small wait of five minutes before we got seated by which we were greeted many times and offered to sit down at the bar while we wait. I got scrambled eggs with toast and bacon, along with the side of fruit. My husband got strawberry french toast and sausage (which I really enjoyed! lol). I did some research on the magic Yelp machine, and The Daily Diner had that met, and also had great ratings. It's a cute place inside, relatively small, but you're greeted right away with a friendly greeting. They have a solid normal menu and specials on the board (bacon stuffed pancakes? I can't say I wasn't tempted). Service is really solid and the food came out quickly. I decided on the corned beef hash with 3 eggs - it was a whole can of hash! Needless to say that portions are very generous, bordering on huge. The food was delicious, and we'll be back when we're in the area. They have the standards and some surprises at very reasonable prices considering the portion size.
