We started with a charcuterie board with their own house made crackers, cheeses and meats including a decadent pate'. And as an added bonus we were brought a few roasted brussel sprouts with cranberry chutney, fantastic! For our main course TS opted for the pork chop with root vegetables and I had the roasted chicken with the same sides. Both were delicious and juicy being cooked over a wood fire! Now Sylvan Table is a farm to table restaurant which could be daunting on a long cold Michigan winter. And part of the farm must be on their 5 acres. I bet those root vegetables were picked and stored on site for use all winter just like an old timey farm. Ee ate like we hadca tip on a famine and washed it down with a big bold red. But there was still room for more. For dessert we split a slice of Buche Noel and some coffee. The dessert was a work of art. As we made our way out we realized we were the last ones there. So after a picture in front of the Christmas tree we were gone. All in a magical experience with food, service and ambiance that can't be beat. And the company, well that goes without saying!
