My buddy and I checked out Lela's in Auburn Hills for the first time today, and I've gotta say--it was a great experience all around. It's conveniently not far from his house, so it made for an easy stop, and we're both really glad we decided to give it a try. Right when we walked in, the vibe stood out. The place is really nicely decorated with a cool, welcoming atmosphere that just makes you feel comfortable right away. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which always goes a long way. Shoutout to our waitress--unfortunately I can't remember her name, but it was actually her first day, and she absolutely crushed it. Super attentive, kind, and on top of everything. You would never guess she was brand new. Food-wise, I ordered the American breakfast sandwich (I think it might've gone by a different name before), and it was fantastic. Everything was just right--the eggs were fluffy, the sausage was flavorful, and the lettuce and tomato added a fresh touch that pulled it all together. Every bite hit. My buddy kept it simple with eggs, toast, and tomato slices, but even that looked really good--the tomatoes especially looked fresh and delicious. I don't know if I just got a bad batch of their chili sauce but it was disgusting almost threw up when I got a bite of the chili dog. The aesthetic of the place is clean and nice My husband really didn't like his food either we will not go back there but it's not to say that other people don't like this food it might be good for all the people but what I'm saying is when you go in there to open up check your food because that chili sauce had a taste that I almost threw up I mean I I just think it might have been bad or going bad and they used it anyways and they shouldn't have. The place smells like mold and mildew, no food smells. The waitress gave me a dirty cup of coffee and when I asked for a new cup she poured the coffee from the dirty cup into a clean one and then gave that to me. The avocado toast was the worst I've ever had, instead of being smashed and spread on the "toast" that was barely toasted, I got slices of unripe avocados. My husband ordered corned beef hash and he got a plate of hash browns with a little bit of corned beef on top of the hash browns and then more green peppers than meat. The eggs we got weren't done the way we asked either. Coffee was coffee in name only. We were there on Mother's Day and it was practically empty, which should have been the first clue that it was not going to be a good experience. Don't eat here expecting good food because you won't get any good food here. Yuck! read more

I can here with a group of 4 pretty much everyone cleaned their plate the only ones that didn't was just becuse it was too much food! I enjoyed the funky vibe and the old school dined feel! With all the glowing reviews of this place we had high expectations. Unfortunately those were disappointed. The service was attentive and we got our order quickly. However, I ordered cinnamon rolls and got what was essentially cinnamon toast. It was flat and crunchy and there was no frosting on it. Defiantly not what I expected. The strawberry crepes were okay but not warm and kind of doughy tasting. The eggs benedict was the best thing I ordered and it was average. We won't be coming back here but are glad we tried it for ourselves. read more

First atmosphere was very comfortable, cool chill and inviting. Next the service was fast and the waitresses were friendly and sweet. And lastly the food was good, bacon was over crispy though. (It is pronounce Lay-La) I've driven past this place for awhile, waiting for it to open. I haven't seen any information on social media but I heard they opened a week or two ago so I decided to go on a weekday after an appointment. Arrived around 10:30am and the Open sign was not lit up but we approached anyway. They were open. It has been nicely updated since the last business! Very clean and no strong smells. I waitstaff was kind and helpful, but quiet. The whole place was quiet, so I would suggest they play light music until business picks up. Menu was clear. Every single thing we ordered was delicious! The glasses are a bit small, but were kept filled. The menu stated Eggs Benedict would be "with hash browns or tomato slices or fruit" but I wasn't given an option and they arrived with hash browns. I'm not a potato person but when I dipped them in the egg and cheese combo on my plate they were phenomenal! Yum! I look forward to going back! read more

I want to start by saying that I looked for other methods of contacting the owner. So after reading this, yelp, please help this owner pull down my post. This message is for the owner only. We came in today, and our server was visibly sick. She kept wiping her nose with her hands and sniffled as she brought us our coffee. Send the poor girl home! I'm pretty easy going and I'm not a germaphobe but it was gross. Like over the top gross. That, plus the restaurant being a little messy (floors were dirty) and the use of margarine (on full display in the kitchen) we decided not to eat here. We root for all small biz owners and love that this spot is close by. A little bit if TLC and caring for your employees would pay dividends. read more

I was curious after reading the reviews & this is my first time here. Service was attentive. It's very clean and in good shape. A lot of menu variety. Instead of usual breakfast fare, I had Eggs Florentine. Everything was well presented and well prepared. Nice portion. Coffee was fine. This location has had a few different restaurants over the years. For some reason it never seems to bring in many customers. I'm the only one here at breakfast time--a little unsettling. Had breakfast this morning at Lela's. Very good western omelet stuffed with meat, veggies and just the right amount of cheese ($11). Husband had five large pancakes ($7 +$3.50 for bacon) which he said were very good. Definitely recommend read more
