This place should seriously have more stars than it's getting. The pizza and salads are delicious. The bread and cheese and all the toppings are top-notch. Unless you hate pizza this place should be a regular. The service is good and the atmosphere since they moved is excellent. I've driven past a few times and saw the banner outside for the Mon-Fri lunch special for a sandwich fries and a drink for $11 so I thought I'd stop by and try it out. I got a meatball and cheese sub (at the recommendation of the person who served me) but no fries and extra charge for the drink. I asked and was told the special was 11-2 which was weird since it was 1:50. I didn't want to make a scene or anything so I left it at that. I went to review my order on Yelp and edit it to remove one appetizer and like most online ordering you can edit during checkout. Immediately the order was placed for two appetizers, one of which I didn't want. Now we can't add on a pizza without my appetizer being edible. I called the restaurant within 3 minutes because I tried to see if I could cancel the online order which was not an option. The girl said my order was ready and it had only been five minutes by the time I explained that we wanted to order pizza. I told her it takes at least 20 minutes to drive over there, which is why I was calling so they wouldn't start the order. I told her that we wanted pizza but my other food would be cold by that time we got there and all she said was the order was ready. Terrible customer service and I didn't even get the food that I wanted. In fact, we aren't picking up the appetizers I paid for since I need to have an entire hot meal for my family and we will get food elsewhere. When my husband called back the girl refused to answer my husband's questions. He asked for her name, instead of giving him her name, she asked what he wanted to order. So he asked if our food was ready because we wanted to add on a pizza. The girl said they don't deliver. Not the question he asked. Now due to the terrible service, the food will be cold (40 minutes round trip) and my order wasn't postponed so we could add on a pizza we are not picking up anything there. Don't ever try to look up anything on Yelp because it's impossible to edit an order. I have nothing to feed my family tonight. We heard good things about Perry's but after this experience, I doubt we will ever eat there. Came across this pizza shop while traveling and the restaurant caught my attention as it's nice and inviting. Ordered the two slice and salad special and price is very affordable. Salad was plain taste like any bagged salad so nothing special same with the Caesar dressing. Everything was pretty tasteless bland. The pizza was nothing special sauce tasted canned and premade and the dough tasted like frozen pizza. Cool! Now I don't have to drive over 7 miles to south HB for a decent plate of spaghetti and meat sauce for a great price. It's been right under my nose all these years. Got it to go. Just like I told Pizza D Oro the sauce isn't going to be as good as slow-cooked homemade. But I'd give the edge to Perry's sauce, it had a little more flavor. The spaghetti was perfectly cooked al dente. I got a side of Italian sausage which was delicious and chunks of it with sauce made the perfect bite combined with the garlic bread. I took it home and grated real Parmesan cheese on it. I'll be back to try more stuff. read more

Went to Perry's the other day and got a Lotsa with thick crust and some buffalo wings The food got the job done, it wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't great. Pizza is decent but, I think it's so weird that if you order a full pizza, half the crust is cut off! That's my favorite part! I am assuming this is done to cater to their slice combos (make a square pizza, cut off a portion for other orders). Even when I've specially asked for the crust to remain in tact, the staff won't honor it :( read more

I had a slice of cold pizza from here from a friend and it was amazing. Even cold. Yes, i'm a trash panda and therefore am not picky with food and can even enjoy cold pizza. I also feel that if the pizza is good cold, it's even better warm. So waited for the weekend to order that same pizza fresh. "Perry's in HB." The weekend came and we headed over and attempted to replicate the order of that unforgettable cold slice only to come to the realization, there is another location in HB on Brookhurst. The waitress was sweet and even told us that each Perry's is run by different owners and sometimes has different ingredients. This particular Perry's unfortunately did not have the specific ingredients to replicate that cold pizza. But I was hungry and determined, ordered the Hermosa pizza, thin crust. Even though at heart, I'm a Detroit/Sicilian style pizza crust kinda gal, the thin crust as where it was at. Enough of that delicious, golden crust to support the weight of all the delicious ingredients; pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and onions. Large has 12 slices and services one trash panda willing to share with her significant other, or 4-6 people. Absolutely delicious. That thin, amazingly crisp crust with incredible cheese pull and plenty of toppings and sauce. Service is great, the time it took to prepare the pizza was perfectly reasonable, establishment clean. Definitely pizza parlor vibes. They even serve cold brews here and other items on their menu like pastas, chicken wings, etc. And while I will still have to go to their Brookhurst location for to try to replicate that cold pizza, I will definitely be back to this location to try their square pan pies and other items on their menu. read more

Day one following Perry's relocation from their nearly historic location on Edinger at Edwards. I had to wait at the front door as food orders are collected before you're seated and there was a guest ahead of me. Minutes passed as the staff had no clue how to operate their new Point of Sale register. Their fumbling through the order taking process was a clear sign of the restaurant opening before it was ready. The young lady quickly offered up a response of "2 years" when I finally arrived at the counter and asked if she was new. It would seem the team was inexperienced, but again, she stated she'd been with the company for 2 years including her time at the location across the street. She was talking with a technician from the point of sale company between his swigs of root beer in the restaurant's dining room. I didn't finish my refill after thinking this guy's mouth may have been on the container from which my drink was poured. As for the food, well, it left a lot to be desired. The pizza was overcooked, and had little flavor. The crust was hard and lacked appeal. Again, these criticisms point toward the restaurant opening before it was ready. I can't imagine the pizza I ate was the product they plan to serve in the future. The dining room was a hodgepodge of large Kardashian pictures, dirty floors, and a recycled/repurposed vibe of all the restaurants to occupy this location since it's time as Luigi's. read more

Today I had never been to this restaurant. I was so hungry. I just had to pull over and stop by. Sounded better than McDonald's across the street anyways as soon as I went in, seemed like a small little shop not your typical pizza shop ended up being a whole restaurant, and I was greeted by a nice young man who asked me if I wanted to do takeout or sit with him and he would take care of me. I decided to sit down since I was so tired and didn't really want to rush since I've never been here before he recommended me some pretty good beer and a pizza. I got a sub pizza and beer for a decent price, probably will be back since the server he introduced himself as Tanner, pretty cool dude. Shout out Tan the man! Two words, and they surprise me given that this is a pizza place... Breakfast. Burrito. Perry's has a cool little breakfast menu available with some great options - I opted for a breakfast burrito with sausage and bacon at the recommendation of someone at the restaurant. Nice portion and not so large it made me ill, but more than enough to satisfy my inner glutton. Service was prompt and friendly, opened by a warm greeting right when I walked in. It was a bit early for me to be drinking but.. their beer and wine selection looks really solid. Perry's is such a comfort food stop for me. It's quick, easy, and hits the spot time after time. We love the spaghetti with meat sauce, pepperoni pizza, and their minestrone soup. They have minestrone soup daily but they alternate other soups during the week. The pasta is a generous portion and has more than enough sauce to saturate the noodles beautifully, and the pizza isn't overly greasy or skimpy on toppings. It's really a perfect pizza. The minestrone soup is by far the best most nutrient dense soup I've found. It is loaded with chunks of fresh colorful vegetables in a nice tomato base. It even has cute little pieces of spaghetti swimming through it. Our entire house gobbles it up, even our kids! This location is turning into a bbq joint, but Perry's still runs it's restaurant out of it. They will eventually be moving across the street, diagonally into a new building. We love the food and will keep supporting them. There is no restroom inside currently due to construction work being done which is a bummer, but temporary. Another bonus is they have a drive through which makes swinging by and picking up a to go order seamless. I highly recommend for affordable yet tasty Italian food that will fill the whole family. Sorry no pictures from me for this review- we dive into our food too quickly each time that I haven't been able to capture one yet! It's on my to do list though so stay tuned!! read more

Good Italian food. I'm not a fan of the thicker pizza here but the thin is good, pasty pretty good and sausage sandwich tasty. I especially recommend the sausage sandie after drinking for a fulfilling drunk eat. I haven't eaten in but service and ambiance seem fine. I'm so bummed. Perry's had an atmosphere at their old location that doesn't translate well to their new location. The sign says that they're wood fired pizzas, but they most definitely are not. There isn't any smoke to the pizza. And the crust is only slightly better than their old location. I suspect this is because it's a bit fresher than their old offering. This is the best Lotsa pizza we have ever eaten. We only do takeout but it is well worth the drive. Enjoy.
