11/2025 (delicious even burnt red onions- I can imagine how much more delicious this itllbe if I orderagain & ask onions not be burnt)

Repost as I originally wrote the review under another Massimo's by accident (their owner let me know their address has nothing to do with this HB Massimo's) ) This Massimo is located in Huntington Beach. Looking for a go-to pizzeria since being in this area and I came across Massimo's on Uber Eats. According to the app I got my order within an hour and even having been that long, the pizza was a room temp by the time it reached me - I still enjoyed the flavors and pizza dough texture. Really delicious. The crust was a perfect thin crust; chewy and a flavorful mild marinara sauce. I'm confident had it been eaten warmer, it provabky would be a perfect 5 stars. I'll definitely be visiting again soon. The red onions were slightly burnt- maybe they should be layered after some cook time or make the onions a little bigger? To prevent the burnt edges, but despite that, I still really enjoyed the flavors. I even had a few slices left for the next day and it was just as enjoyable the next day. Looking forward to trying it dining in next time. Opted for the hot honey dipping sauce too ($2) The cannoli was an impulsive pick, and a subtle and sweet dessert. Mostly looking forward to trying more of their pizzas soon. Uber Eats their pizza and cannoli (despite the burnt red onions- still enjoyed their pizza; very much; great flavors and a chewy dough texture) Uber eats order Cannoli, Med Pizza 2 toppings $39, Tip, $10 uber eats fees= Total $59. I understand their pizza being a bit more than some of the other pizza places. I can definitely taste the difference and quality of their ingredients. M

An authentic old school place. Serves pizza that is very close to Tony's Pizza in San Marino as served back in the '80's and '90's when OG Italians used to run the place. It's been difficult finding a place that replicates the type of crust that represents this sort of style, which can be described like a crusty loaf of bread. A crunchy exterior with a chewy interior. Looks like a hole in the wall from the outside, but when I went inside, the place was packed with people. Service was fairly quick and efficient, with a handful of staff busily working away behind the counter.

I just completed a blood donation nearby and needed to replenish my tummy/satisfy my hunger - so started to look on Yelp/Google Maps around the Hoag area. My appt happened to end in that lull time period between lunch and dinner when most places were closed (3pm to 5pm ish) - so options were far and few. Massimo's popped up - and was on the way home for me (I took the scenic route from Hoag via PCH and Brookhurst). First, the spot is special - it's at a strip mall sorta spot - at the corner where Bushard and Brookhurst - both streets that typically run parallel to each other - intersect. I was the only customer in the restaurant when I stopped by this afternoon - the dining room is very homey - clean and simple - no issues. The friendly owner greeted me, and hoping for a recommendation, I asked him "what he would recommend", and he replied that "everything's good here". Alright, so I narrowed things down to the Meatball sub, or Spaghetti & meatballs. Still - the owner would not pick either of the two for me, so I settled with pasta. The pasta dish was decent - probably not the best spaghetti I've had - but not bad either. The two giant meatballs were flavorful and generously portioned. Pasta comes with two slices of thick garlic bread - which was great for sipping with the sauce. I'm definitely going to come back and check out the pizza. I think I was just hungry (after giving away a ton of blood) - and so wanted something quicker than waiting for a pizza to bake, but if this place is known for their pizza, I'll give it another shot in the near future. Plenty of parking in the lot, despite being close to the beach (you're about half a mile away from the ocean. Cozy little spot that apparently is supportive in the community and area schools. I'm all for supporting local mom-and-pop shops! Cash only, no nearby ATMs that I'm aware of - good thing I always carry a bit of cash.

Forever grateful for being the last pie of the night. It was nothing short of amazing. We truly felt like winners after eating this on the drive home after KASKADE!

Passed by here today while dropping off a rider. Came right back for a late lunch and was not disappointed at all. Very delicious cheese pizza, the true test! Thank you!

The pizza came out hot, greasy (in the best way), and absolutely delicious. We also tried the ham and salami cheese sandwich, which was amazing--the bread was outstanding and really made it. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. Definitely coming back!

The food the service, the ambience. The craft beer! I can't say enough about how great this place is. My only criticism, not enough seating. This place gets packed. With food this good, how could it not.

I was just reading reviews for this amazing restaurant. I'm going to start with.....The pizza is amazing , their sandwiches are outstanding and their pasta dishes are second to none! The atmosphere is inviting and the owners are very friendly and personable. This is one of my favorite places to dine ! Now this! People, really? Anybody that starts their review with, "I've been going there for 20 years"and then leaves a one star review??? Well my thought is this. If you've eaten at anyplace for 20 years, and the place still has the same owners, well maybe the problem is you !

The #21 Massimo's Special hot sandwich. Meatballs, Italian sausage, thin sliced roast beef, tomato meat sauce, and melted cheese. Great!

The Massimo's Special pizza combo was great. It's like a typical deluxe combination of ingredients.

Food is classic pizza. We had traditional and gluten free. Both were good. It is a very casual place and a classic, old-school pizza dive.

This little spot sits right across from the ocean and operates on the kind of hours that make sense for vacationers, open at 8 a.m. and closing at 3 p.m. Perfect timing for a slow morning and a serious breakfast. While scanning the menu, one item kept jumping out at me: the Wakey Wakey Breakfast Burrito. It clearly had a reputation. The only hesitation? The price. At $17 for a single burrito, expectations get pretty high. At that price point, the burrito can't just be good, it has to show up and perform like an Allstar. Luckily, this burrito absolutely delivered! I ordered for a family of six, which turned out to be a strategic move because it allowed me to sample a few different versions. First up was the bacon breakfast burrito, which was fantastic: flavorful, hearty, and easily a solid four star burrito on its own. Then I tried the sausage version... and BAM! Somehow it was even better. At that point, I thought I had already reached the peak of breakfast burrito greatness. Five star territory achieved. Case closed. Or so I thought. Then came the chorizo breakfast burrito and let me tell you. This thing was on another level entirely. If the bacon was great and the sausage was excellent, the chorizo was a slice of breakfast heaven wrapped in a tortilla. It completely stole the show. And that's not a knock on the others, they were legitimately great but the chorizo version was just that much better. Another bonus: these burritos are huge. Realistically, one burrito could easily feed two people unless you're particularly ambitious or exceptionally hungry after a sunrise beach walk. The salsa served with the burritos was also excellent and paired perfectly with everything. If you're feeling adventurous, you can ask for additional sauces as well to customize the experience. So yes, $17 for a burrito might initially make you pause, but in this case the gamble paid off especially if you go with the chorizo. Between the portion size, the flavor, and the beachside setting, it ends up feeling like money well spent. Bottom line: If you find yourself near the beach in the morning and want a breakfast that lives up to the hype, TidePoole's Wakey Wakey Breakfast Burrito is absolutely worth the stop. Just one warning: You may walk in thinking you'll share a burrito... and walk out wishing you had ordered another.

While the food is consistently great, the pricing is the only thing holding me back from a full five stars. The Standout Sandwich: The Shark Bite is my go-to and it is incredibly yummy. I get it on a roll, and it comes with cream cheese, ham fried in Tabasco, barbecue sauce, shredded lettuce, and cheese. It always tastes exactly how it should, and I've never had a problem with the quality of the food. The soda is generally good, and they carry solid pre-manufactured chips to go with your meal. The Pricing Issue: The only complaint I have is that their pricing model feels a bit ridiculous. For example, I recently looked into catering: * Beach Hut Deli: Wanted almost $200 for a catering box of sandwiches. * Board and Brew (Competitor): I can get a similar catering box of about 20 half-sandwiches for $98, which includes their traditional sauce, napkins, and nice packaging. Even looking at the a la carte menu, the prices at Beach Hut are just notably higher without much justification. The math doesn't really add up for me, especially considering they are already doing good business. Final Verdict: If you don't mind paying a premium, the sandwiches are some of the best around. It's a great spot for a meal, but be prepared for the bill to be a bit higher than the competition.
