I found this location because I was looking for somewhere fun to watch the FIFA games. I had no idea how cool this place was. They have a whole restaurant, a German market with tons of cool market items, and a butcher with all kinds of meats and sausages. They have bar with an extensive list of beers. They have bartenders dressed in German cultural clothing. They have multiple TV's They have an outdoor patio and an indoor viewing hall. They literally have it all! Everyone here is super cool, the staff is friendly and fun. The food is LEGIT. Like, really good classic German food. Best pretzel I've ever had! They make them from scratch. Parking is easy, they have a lot and other places to park nearby. If you come to one of their events, they require a clear purse for the ladies! But there is a guy out front who sells them. i came here specifically for Pretzel Fes at the Biergarten. My family came here for Octoberfest and they had so much fun that they suggest we check it out. For the price of an early $5 admission, I think it is worth it to hang out with friends, drink beer and eat giant pretzels while listening to a fun live band. Surprising to me, this is a family-friendly event with a diverse crowd. From young to old, friends and family with small kids, the vibe of this event was all but good, friendly and fun. The staff was friendly from the bartenders, the servers and the young teens working the pretzel booth. What made this even cool was planning. My sister reserved and paid for a table . The reserved tables are listed by name so even though i was the first of my group to get there, I easily ordered my drink and food knowing that I had a spot ready for me. The pretzels were amazing! I ordered a lot to share and we all got full fast. The best was the Dubai. Our time slot was for 12pm to 4pm but we felt like we were done at 2pm. We ended up offering our table to a group of friends who were standing the entire time they were there. Overall, it was a great event. It alowed me to walk around and check out the other vendors at Old World. Free parking at the parkling lot across the street was a great pull. Thanks to the event organizers for setting that up. What a great place for concerts and friends getting together! We've seen many concerts here and each time it's so much fun! My only complaint here is, that their German Potato Salad is not as good as the one that the now long Alpine Village Market in Torrance sold. Otherwise, their sausage sandwiches are incredibly delicious and the beef goulash is amazing! Service is great with a block painted red and green. When you are ready to order, have the green side of block facing up. Inside of the restaurant is a bit dark. If you can, and are patient to wait, get seats outside in the garden. Had to pop by here and see what it's all about while in Huntington Beach! They definitely lean into the touristy part of being an old German world, but it works! There's a lot of space both indoors and outdoors, and they had free live music going on when we were here which was cool. Each table is given a red & green block, when you're ready to order you turn the block to green. Our server was there right away and was super helpful with explaining some items on the menu. How I have never been to this place is new to me! It's such a neat place to go- it will immediately transport you to Germany! They even have a supermarket within the restaurant that sell snacks, candy and other things from Germany too. We ordered the port shank and wow- amazingly delicious in every word and perfectly smoked. It's also crispy outside too. I adore this restaurant! The parking in the back is easy and accessible. There is plenty of parking, and it's also across the street from Costco! This restaurant has a little market inside with imported goods straight from Germany! When we visit, we love looking at everything because it reminds us of our travels (it reminds my fiancé of his home). We also enjoy trying their new rotation of snacks and treats. For the restaurant, we prefer sitting outside. We are always seated very quickly. They have a two colored block that allows servers to know if you need to order, you need support, or if you've already paid. We always order their half liter of beer and occasionally a full liter. My fiancé always gets their Hefeweizen and I always get an IPA. For food, we opt for the jagerschnitzel and their spatzle. This time, they had a fun February cocktail menu and weekly specials! My brother ordered their fish and chips. Food reminds me of Germany and completely authentic. When ordering fries, we always get curry ketchup and mayonnaise for extra measure. We came here for my birthday and had such a great meal! I should start by saying, we ordered a shit-ton of food and didn't finish anything. We ended up sampling everything and taking most of it home to eat for the rest of the weekend. It was so much food! We started with the Fried Brie Cheese $16 and the Bavarian Pretzel $14 (plus beer cheese $2). I don't know why they bother having the beer cheese as optional, of course everyone will get the beer cheese. Just add it and make the pretzel $16. I love sausages and have eaten many of the sausage options here in the past. The Sausage Trio $14 with Nurnberger, Polish and Arrogant mini bratwursts - very good. The Nurnberger Bratwurst Pair $20 with two long Nurnberger brats - super good but kind of "one note". So this time I ordered the Sliced Sausage Platter $39 which includes one each of Nurnberger, Polish, Hungarian and Arrogant Beer. This is actually meant to be a shared appetizer under their "small bites" menu. Don't judge, it's my birthday. Ok yes, it was a lot of sausage but honestly I don't think it's worth the $39. Of all the sausage dishes I think I'll stick with the Sausage Trio next time. We had ordered a side of Spatzle which are normally tender buttery egg noodles. The serving we got was dried out, bottom of the pot. Fortunately we were able to send them back and get them taken off the bill. I forgot to take a picture of our dessert - Black Forest Cake $9. It's best to get here earlier than later in the day. Technically, we ate inside and not out in the beer garden. Service is pretty quick if you turn the red/green block to green. That's how they know you need the the staff for something. We ordered a drink, soup, appetizer, and entree at the same time. Unfortunately for us, the soup, appetizer, & entree came out at the same time which means something is going to get cold! We didn't expect that! It's conveniently located across from the Costco Huntington location in Old World Village. The outdoor seating is pretty cute, you can't miss it! They serve both German and American cuisine and also function as a sports bar. It's also a great place to visit during Christmas time!! Backstory: For inexplainable reasons i do enjoy a good girthy bratwurst on many an occasion. especially the first bite when it explodes juicily in your mouth is so yum. The pretzel was very interesting, thin crisp exterior and inside was fluffy soft, twas delicious considering how plain it looked, Wetzels/Annes would be a thick dense oily comparison. Beer cheese is extra but delicious, imagine a watery dip cheese. Fransiskaner Weissbeer was a mandatory vote for me, I had it like once when i was a young college dude and ive always been looking for it again since, the normal Fransiskaner Hefeweizen can be found here regularly but the dark version ive not seen in so long. If u like non-bitter smooth flavorful beer with a touch of banana hint on the end, Weissbeer you should try. $10 for a pint $16 for the oversized mug liter. Paulaner Hefeweizen was lighter flavor more orangey, still very pleasant. We took a Liter of both and split em 3 ways, the giant mugs are not possible to pour into smaller mugs without making a mess, unfortunately theyre not allowed to just pre split a 1L into 2 500ml mugs make it easier for us to split, something about the owner watching the dispensing okaaay. Service: uses the run forest run method which im a fan of. flip the painted wood block to red up for dont bother us and green for request service. Eliminates the untimely interruptions. Though towards the end of the night i had to use the bathroom and when i came back theyd cleared away my unfinished beer, rude. Pricey brats (1 brat plate is $15). Schnitzel $24 looks massive but its pounded paper thin and heavily breaded. Copious serving sizes of beer. Criminally limited to 1 type of mustard (i dont care, mustard isnt a high priority for me, but my coworker was so bothered) Parking has 2 lots on either side of the german "village" kinda small spots and tight angles but very plentiful. Came here for the second time with my friends back in October 2025 to celebrate Oktoberfest and had a smashing time! Amongst three people, we started with the mouth watering Bavarian pretzel. Highly recommend the butter to eat with this. We also ordered this ginormous plate (hand for scale) of schnitzel (pork and chicken I believe), wurst (~4 types), and fries, along with ketchup and mustard. It was so delicious and hearty, the perfect meal for a meat lover. On the side we also ordered a bread bowl flight of sauerkraut soup, beer cheese soup, and what may have been chickpea soup (can't remember exactly). I loved the beer cheese soup, but what was genuinely surprising was how mild and rich the sauerkraut soup was - I thought it would be a lot harsher given its pickled nature but I found this to have a really lovely flavor. Of course we ended with dessert, which was a nice and rich piece of Black Forest cake. My goodness was that cream nice and sweet and perfectly complementary with the chocolate. The feel you get from the place, transports you to a different world. After a nice stroll through the super market and deli area, I made my way to the restaurant. Immediately I got a liter of beer and sit down with my pretzel and sauerkraut. What a fantastic way to spend the afternoon. I saw the rest of the menu it serves authentic comfort, bartastic foods. The latter is pretty to gawk at but if you ACTUALLY take a look at what they sell, it's mostly just candies and canned goods that's great for gifting. Think boxed cookies, chocolates, and other gourmet items that's slightly more unique sounding and German/Bavarian themed than say getting holiday items from World Market or Starbucks. The parking itself is free outside and the area outside of the Biergarten is also fun to walk around in. I personally like eating their bratwurst and giant pretzels during October. My friends and I visited the Old World to celebrate the Oktoberfest. I was fortunate to find a parking spot on-site. My friends weren't as lucky and they have to park in off-site parking across the street. Oktoberfest 2025 started on 9/7 thru 11/9, Wed-Sunday. Biergarten (#50) is located right next to the restaurant (#49). A ticket is required to enter the Biergarten. You get $10 discount if you've dined at the restaurant. We ordered an Oktoberfest shank platter and a schnitzel platter, 2 pretzels, sausage trio, and currywurst to share. Service was acceptable considering how busy they are.
