Perry's is a family owned business which has been around for over 35 years. They serve an early bird breakfast, they offer daily menu specials, happy hour, etc. Their business is divided into three areas: Restaurant, Bar and Odies' Pub. Perry's was one of our first experiences of Odenton, Md. approximately 5 years ago. Before my son began high school, it used to be a special spot to enjoy breakfast. The best part of breakfast was our server Edde. She remembers your order (even the little special request) and she is on top of your needs before you ask. The head cook is an older greek gentleman who even comes out to ask if your food is ok. It's definitely a local place, with a local feel. They offer live local bands on Friday and Saturday's with no cover ( Oracle is a must see). They also offer pool and darts downstairs at Odie's Pub. FOUR stars for the nightlife, TWO stars for Saturday breakfast. I've had a great time going here to drink, hang out and watch live bands. It's my kind of crowd at night. However, that was LONG ago and I'm hearing the place is going downhill. This was apparent when I took my kids to have breakfast there at 8:30 on a Saturday (opens at 8:00). We sat down in an empty room with set tables. Nobody showed up. One person was there when we walked in and they walked "in back" and never came back out! We stayed, for approx. 8 minutes. My husband and I went here on a whim. We pass by it a lot so we decided to check it out. We thought it was just a bar turns out there are 3 different parts to this place. There is a nice restaurant area, then a lounge/bar, then an actual bar around back. The food was good. My husband loved this crab thing he got. The pretzeled crab appetizer was amazing. I went on Monday for $1 crabs, well $1.50 crabs. The first dozen were so so ... room temperature &; no seasoning. The dozen after that were good! Hot & seasoned well. Our waitress was not very helpful at all ...everything I seemed to ask her she didn't know the answer to. Or she forgot about us. Then as it got crowded I think she got overwhelmed. I give this place 3 stars because I always have fun when I go there. Its kind of weird the way they set it up. The main dining room is much larger, it has a nice bar and a dance floor. This place always closes early and they push everyone downstairs into this small room. The drinks are cheap and the people are nice but it could use some updating. (to be fair they have started updating some areas of the place.) I wouldn't eat here. Not really any good reason it just doesn't look like the type of place to produce good food. read more

Went out to have a fun time with friends even though I was gonna be the DD for the night. They only serve water to the DDs here. Which is pretty lame since most bars at least serve soda for free. Also both up stairs and down stairs are kind of cramped and you are constantly bumping into people and chairs. read more

I have lived in the neighborhood for 20 years and today was my first time eating a carryout meal from Perry's Restaurant. I purchase what I usually get at G and M, Hellas, Gunnings, Timbuktwos, Mos in Glen Burnie a Seafood Platter and it was great. I believe the seafood was the best I have eaten from around the area and the price was decent too. My platter had a huge piece of fish, 3 large shrimp, 3 fried oysters, clam strips and a great tasting crab cake plus a side. I eat out a lot but have been disappointed with most seafood restaurants due to small portions and jacking up the price for less food. We eat out at least once a week and we've been here for steak night on Thursdays and 1/2 price prime rib on a Saturday..we've been very pleased with our food..the crab cake i feel is one of the best i've had and we've eaten at a lot of places that have great crab cakes in annapolis and eastern shore and baltimore..the special of crab cake and filet for like 17.99 which includes a side is our favorite..i like their chopped steak platter too..the amount of food we get we're usually taking leftovers home..the bang for the buck is the best here, other places are good but for the money this is our go-to spot...its an older place, the booth seats are worn(we have only eaten in the bar/lounge area, not the dining room), thursday night the DC hand-dance club shows up so we've met a lot of nice ,friendly older people..if you're looking for fancy atmosphere like Lures or Annapolis restaurants, this is not the place, its local and older..but the food is good and our server on Thursdays and saturdays has been great each time..they do run out of some of their specials on thursdays if you get there later..and we had one time our steak was cooked a little more than i like..but thats happened to me at multiple steakhouses if you go often enough..they offered to correct it but i was fine with it..i recommend it for price/quality /and quantity of food read more

I went to Perry's two days ago with three of my friends. The atmosphere is very casual. I was disappointed that the menus were dirty and appeared to have mold on them. Our waiter was named Chris. He was phenomenal. Chris was wonderful with suggestion entrees. We ordered entrees and got them about 25 minutes later. I ordered a lamb gyro (that Chris suggested.) I loved my gyro! I could not ask for it to be better. My friend ordered the overstuffed ham turkey and roast beef sandwich and he loved it. My other friend ordered the chicken marsala. He was a little disappointed that the chicken marsala sauce was very thin and his chicken was a little overcooked. Both mine and the chicken marsala entrees came with a side of vegetables. Both of the mixed vegetables were frozen vegetables heated up. They were not seasoned. And they were sitting in water in the bottom of our dishes. We also ordered a spinach feta pie for an appetizer and it was delicious! We also ordered to Tequila sunrises and both of them were very nice and heavy-handed with the tequila. read more

When we first moved to Odenton, we tried pretty much every restaurant around, since there aren't very many. Perry's is so, so bad. The place was pretty empty but the one waitress kept disappearing. There were more people in the bar, so maybe she was hanging out there? The "greek salad" was iceberg lettuce, supermarket tomatoes, sliced onion and canned olives. Gross. The entrees were overcooked, over-salted and just plain bad. The atmosphere is like eating in someone's basement -- damp, mildew-scented and not clean. Yuck. read more

The crabs (which taste-wise were completely forgettable) were a wait because when we arrived at 5:20 they were out and waiting on a delivery. But the server never asked if we wanted to order anything else, which we did, for the three kids that were with us. My husband finally went and found someone to place an order. Never had my water refilled the entire time we were there. The kids meals were supposed to come with ice cream at the end. They never brought it out so we finally asked. The server went to go get them and came back several minutes later and said they were out of ice cream and offered us two other dessert choices instead. So we chose the carrot cake. She came back several minutes later again to tell us the carrot cake wasn't thawed so we could have apple pie or nothing. We decided to just leave and hit Rita's on the way home. It is supposed to be a vape friendly bar had some jerk next to us suddenly yell and start swearing at us for vaping instead of nicely asking us to stop because it was bothering them. My boyfriend and I defended yourself and then the bartender/manager yelled at my boyfriend and me to get the hell out of his establishment and never vape in there again. He referred to the instigators as his customers like we weren't there and paying for the service. The waitress we had was nice though. I stopped in at Perry's on Friday for lunch. It was a little confusing because there seem to be entrances and exits everywhere but I opted to try the front door - or at least I think it was the front door. There was a wide range of clientele and one guy running orders, bussing tables, serving food, and topping off drinks. I walked in and sat myself and waited for quite awhile to even get a menu as the two tables (total of four people) who sat down after me were waited on before me. But I let that slide because I was hungry. However, I did wait awhile to even get my drink and it was long enough that I strongly considered leaving. But I had stuck it out that long so I decided to see it through and I'm glad I did. Although the service was extremely slow the burger and fries I ordered were pretty darn good. The fries were a little too well done but we're good nonetheless. And the burger was a little on the greasy side but cooked perfectly and really delicious. I wanted to try the calamari but the guy told me it was uncut and still frozen so that went on the list for next time since I'm hoping "uncut and frozen" means semi-fresh as opposed to "pre-breaded and frozen". Also, I didn't see the wings but they smelled wonderful. The Greek menu looked good and their sign out front advertised WORLD FAMOUS GERMAN FOOD even though I saw no evidence of it on the menu. So, bottom line: Yes I would return. Yes I'd try something different but would get the burger again in a heartbeat. And yes, the service is extremely slow and that was at noon on a Friday with only about 10 people eating/drinking so dinner and weekends might be worse if that's even possible. All in all, the food was good but don't set your expectations too high and definitely prepare yourself for a lengthy wait. However, I would have liked a larger cut - but that's just me. My wife had a wrap and our son had plain wings which reminded us of calabash wings from our time in South Carolina. Again, the service was a little slow but I think I've come to accept it because I enjoy the food and appreciate Perry's as a local business. Most recently I stopped in a Wednesday and couldn't have been happier that I did. Unknowingly, I showed up during happy hour and their half price burger night - what a fantastic deal! I got cheese fries, wings, and a cheeseburger. The fries were the best that I've had at Perry's. They were hot but not over-cooked as they have been in the past. The wings were a little spicy with a little too much sauce on them for me but I ate all of them and thought about getting more. However, I opted not to since I had ordered ordered a burger too. The only thing with the wings is that I wish they had more flavor options or at least added garlic butter to their list of choices. But I'll be happy with the mild ones. The burger, however, was the star as it was in my first review. The meat was good, it was cooked just as I like it - medium rare, the bun was really nice and the bun-to-burger ratio was perfect. And above all else the service was much improved. I was greeted promptly, had a drink in my hand before I had a chance to look at the menu and it was refilled before I noticed it was empty. The food came out pretty quickly too even though the place was busier than it had been in my prior visits. So, again, Perry's is on my list and I'm looking forward to my next visit. Went to Perry's for dinner and had the fish special. The food was good and all was well, until my dinner companion found a fruit fly on his fish. But it was the dining room manager's reaction that REALLY took me aback. The dining manager said, "what do you expect me to do?" No apology, no offer of another piece of fish, no free dinner for my companion. I was flabbergasted and furious. Seeing the look on my face, they "gave" us a free slice of dessert after a couple of minutes. Forget it. With a manager's reaction like that, I'll never go back there again. read more

I am reviewing the bar downstairs from this restaurant, known as Odie's Pub. Let's start with the nice things I have to say. Lots of flat screen TV's on the wall for sports, their Greek Pastitsio dish was decent and happy hour prices were good. Okay, I think that about covers it. As for negatives... one waiter was covering the whole pub when I went on a Friday night. Service was slow, at best, and not attentive at all. The lamb chops were no good. Maybe the upstairs restaurant is better. I agree with another reviewer, do not take a date here. I won't be going back. That about sums it up. read more

The Karaoke never fails to impress at Odie's (Downstairs of Perry's). Karaoke with Juanita has the best equipment and song catalog I have seen! While Perry's is a great full service restaurant and bar, Lets face it, Odie's (Downstairs) is a neighborhood dive bar, but that's what I like! Of all the times we have been here I just realized I haven't given them a review so here is my two cents: Wings are amazing! Only one time did they let me down and that was on a Sunday evening during football season. I got them around 8pm and they tasted like old, burnt grease. I can't complain about that because I am sure their fryers get a workout every game day. Every other time they have been spot on just like they were last Tuesday. Wife had her usual Chicken Chesapeake, which never disappoints. My cheeseburger was medium just as I ordered.If you are a fan of Prime Rib I recommend Prime rib night on Saturday. Go early because they do get busy. You can always sit downstairs at Odies to eat but do it before the DJ gets going. Service is hit or miss so we usually take it To-Go. Advice I can offer is ALWAYS check your To-Go order before you leave with it. Several times it has been wrong but they quickly remedy the situation sometimes even throwing in dessert for having to wait. read more

We ate in Perry's on a Thursday nite advertised on the board outside as pint specials which is $1 off, and hand dancing, which is dancing whatever. The crowd was diverse but strongly favored towards physically capable dancing seniors, and the music from the 50s doo wop to western to instrumental to 80s disco. The crowd was busy on the dance floor with a DJ spinning the tunes. We had coctails, beer, souvlaki and lamb chops. A Groupon made it all the more worth the visit, but service was attentive, food very good, and the atmosphere somehow magnetic. It's a nice place to go again. read more

Two of us had lunch there today. We knew in advance not to expect a high-end atmosphere, and that was correct. We sat at the bar and listened to some good music. Michael, the bartender, was friendly, courteous, efficient, and makes great drinks! Our lunch was French onion soup, ham and cheese club sandwich, and Buffalo chicken wrap. I just left this restaurant not 10 minutes ago and the experience was so negative, I felt this should not wait until I forgot the details. My mother and I went in for dollar crab night. This was not our first trip there for crabs or regular menu dining, but it was the worst and we won't be returning. First, crab night now comes with an entire page of caveats to read before eating. This includes charging for butter, the fact that you can only order 6 or 12 crabs at a time (despite the fact that they precooked the crabs upon delivery and just pull them out of the steamer when an order comes in), and automatic gratuity added to parties of any size. The must read item on the bottom states all crab sales are final, no refunds. Ok, I understand some people might be jerks and try to say they weren't happy with the size or weight and try to get money back. We aren't those people. For $1, we expect small, but we don't expect bad, smelling of ammonia, inedible crabs. Of the dozen I ate, 2 were good, 2 were bad, and 8 were just small and light. Upon opening the first bad crab, we told the server. She looked at it and did nothing. 30 minutes and another bad crab later, the server says her shift is ending and we will have a new server. We ask if she will bring healthy, edible crabs to replace the bad ones. She walks over to the manager (owner?) who has been sitting in the dining area conducting pesonal business and using his speaker phone with crying baby coming through the background, to ask about replacing our crabs. 2 new ones come out. 1 of the 2 is BLACK inside. We tell the new server who has the manager come over. He drops the check down says he took $2 off for the crabs and states "Don't come back any more for the crabs" He walks away. My mouth fell open and I couldn't believe what he said. Don't worry, we and everyone we know won't be coming back to such a horribly run restaurant who doesn't value its customer's health enough to provide safe, edible food, and catch an attitude about it, instead of just replacing the bad product. read more

My wife and I went here for dinner on Sunday night and were disappointed in basically everything. For starters, the place looked grimey (faded paint, stains on the wall, etc.). That might be fine for the bar, but we were in the restaurant. We were told to sit wherever, which wasn't a problem since there was only one other couple there, and were given our menus. We got a couple Murphy's Irish Stouts to start off with and apparently the bartender either doesn't know how to pour these or didn't care because they were almost half head. The bacon wrapped BBQ shrimp appetizer was alright, nothing special, but the french onion soup tasted like they used a bouillon cube. Not a good sign and only the cheese on top saved it. For our main course, we both ordered steaks. She got a filet mignon (rare) with sauteed mushrooms and mashed potatoes and gravy; I got the porterhouse (medium-rare) with mixed veggies. What came to the table was incredible (and I really wish I had taken a picture)... the filet was presented sitting on top of a piece of white toast with a single piece of lettuce and a single sliced tomato next to it on the plate. The porterhouse came similarly plated minus the white toast. The mushrooms were bland (unseasoned), the mashed potatoes were made from flakes (not real potatoes), and the gravy tasted like it was made from the same bouillon as the soup. The mixed veggies were obviously defrosted and heated up. The meat itself wasn't bad, but it was poorly cooked. Rare doesn't mean raw. The porterhouse was fine in some areas, but totally raw in others. At least the steaks worked nicely for leftovers. Our server was nice enough to bump my rating to 2 stars instead of 1, but barely. read more

First let me say that I have been going to Perry's for more years than I care to mention. Let's say over 25. This used to be one of my go-to places when I wanted decent food at a decent price along with fast, friendly service. I feel bad for sending out a less than stellar review but my complaints fall on deaf ears when I talk to the current management. My husband got the prime rib. Always wonderful, healthy-sized portion but the last few times we went in - overdone. He likes medium - comes out very close to well. Still, all-in-all, it was edible. I ordered an appetizer platter & as usual it was very good, generous portions at happy hour price. I also ordered a greek salad. Not so good. I think they must have prepped my salad & put it under the warming lamp while they waited for hubby's overdone prime rib. I asked for no olives & no pepperocinis. Both were on the salad. I could deal with that - just pick them off & waste them in the trash. But, the feta cheese was warm & gooey, the lettuce was warm & limp, the tomatoes were warm & mushy. I asked our waitress if she could have them make me a fresh one. She took it back & brought out another one. Well, I think the cook must have scraped the cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers & onions from the first salad & put them on top of some more lettuce. NOT GOOD. I couldn't eat the salad. Never saw our waitress again. The bus girl comes to the table & asks if she can clear our plates. I asked if she could send our waitress. No go, still never saw her again. The bus girl said she would let the "manager" know there was an issue. Never saw the manager. Bus girl brought our check. It did not have the salad on it but did have the appetizer platter on at full price. Glad I looked or I would have paid for the salad anyway. So, I get up & walk over to the manager & ask if he could correct the price on the appetizer. I very politely told him that the cook should be more careful to serve cold food cold. "Okay" was all I got. We have decided that we will not be going into Perry's for a while. I think that the younger generation does not have the savvy that their dad did when he was running the show. In the service industry - customer service is number 1. These young men need to take a few lessons from their father. read more

It is with great sadness that I say this, but ever since Perry passed away, the quality of the food has gone downhill. The steaks and lamb chops used to be a good grade of meat, but now- the quality of beef and lamb has gone down since Perry passed away--- it is not good. My parents owned a sheep farm so I can tell the difference between lamb and mutton chops, or (sorry for the TMI) uncastrated older ram, the latter of which has a definite flavor and I suspect- has been served lately. I can't recommend Perry's for anything now. I REALLY HOPE management goes back to the meat supplier it had before Perry passed away, or at least stops serving the low-grade cuts it's serving lately. It's bad enough to raise the prices, but then to lower the quality of meat on top of that? They lost my customer loyalty, and I keep hoping it will get better because I'd hate to see what used to be a hidden gem for lamb chops disappear. read more
